@jayman007 I wondered that the last time they sold them. I bought some of them. It is a lie. They simply have a plug that rotates out to plug it. To use it as a portable light, you unplug it.
@jayman007 I’ve seen other flashlight/nightlight combos that have a separate wall plug holster that inductively charges the flashlight part, but this isn’t one of them. MEH should have an editor for the tech specs as well as they copy…
@jayman007@knavekid
I have a question. I was gonna buy these bc my elderly father uses nightlights. Do they only come on when the power goes out or do they come on at night too as a nightlight?
@Star2236 These are illuminated like a night light whenever it is dark. When motion is detected, they get bright. When it isn’t dark, they turn off after a timeout period.
@yakkoTDI
No blinky. No SOS-blinky either. No Three Levels Of Lighting in flashlight mode. (Nightlight is less lighty than flashlight.) No two-piece cradle-that-stays-plugged-in-plus-inductively-charged-light-unit fomtoolery. Does not include a kitten to cause suspicious noises in the middle of the night so that you can appreciate the utility of a nightlight that doubles as a flashlight for even more reasons.
@hchavers At first glance, I thought they were house slippers.
Lighted slippers sounds exactly like some late-night infomercial product or kickstarter campaign which would end up for sale here after failing miserably. The latter being only marginally easier to wear on one’s feet.
@werehatrack All sold by meh. Right? Actually a couple they have sold are reasonably decent. At least according to my sister. She believes a woman can’t have too many flashlights. Makes birthday and christmas gifts easy. Her husband says a man can’t have too many screw drivers. No not that kind . He is into tools.
@Kidsandliz@werehatrack
Actually the 3 in 1 flashlight I got in my irk a while back is pretty great. It’s super, super bright and had come in handy quite a few times. Especially for fixing the shit under the kitchen sink.
The Mehrathon song randomly popped into my head tonight right after the new deal popped up. I was hoping it was a sign. The song’s still stuck in my head now.
/giphy disappointment
@Macoland Some of the descriptions say “Dawn To Dusk Sensor” but others don’t. Also, it appears that these are the WTG095A version, which is the one that doesn’t have the docking cradle.
@Vertabrae Yep, and I bought 4 of those. They’ve worked beautifully for years until one decided to freak out and there was no way to stop the alarm. I instinctively smashed it to the ground, but the damn thing was too well built (who knew?). I eventually had to methodically remove the screws to get inside to cut the power wires while listening to it blaring a warping alarm. It looked comical so good thing no one recorded it.
@Kerig3@Vertabrae Many years ago, I installed a super-cheapo alarm in my car. About four months went by before I got awakened in the middle of the night by a cop loudly knocking on the front door to tell me that the alarm was going off and disturbing the neighbors. I disabled the alarm With Prejudice when the key switch failed to silence it.
@Kerig3@Vertabrae@werehatrack
Years and years ago my friend had a car that the previous owner had some kind of alarm on it with a numerical keypad. She was told to leave the keypad alone and always did. One day she decided to call into work so a few of us could go shopping (we were shopping in the same plaza she worked at). She decided to mess with the keypad while parked in front of her work and it activated the alarm. We sat there for probably 3 hours while someone from Best Buy deactivated it. Needless to say her work found out bc she had to use their phone (pre cell phone days) to call Best Buy.
Yah, the ones that I gave a parent started alarming for no apparent reason even though they were in motion detection mode not alarm, and so I traded. Been working fine at my place. Really like them, I can walk around at night and they see me as I am in range and turn off in a few minutes.
@Bumplepimp I was actually watching these comments to see if anyone else had noticed that. These could have been on a shelf for quite a while and discolored with age. Some white plastics just age this way as I’ve recently noticed older, unused Glade plugins do the exact same thing. I had to toss them because they had discolored so much.
@Bumplepimp@summetj@kerig3 lol. They are “almond” color, but I agree they look like . Thats why we are selling them to you! Please get these out of our warehouse. Please.
@Bumplepimp@Kerig3@summetj@troy These were featured in several episodes of the Brady Bunch. Not only were they plugged into the walls of the Brady house, but I’m fairly certain I saw Alice wearing them on her bedroom slippers.
@Bumplepimp I came here exactly to say this. The color makes them look pre-aged!! Standard white would have been so much better. These are close to the color of an early 90s PC case, or a poorly stored Super Nintendo.
@troy Does anyone still paint their walls in “almond” ofr off-white anymore? The almond switch plates in my home were adequately stylish back when the house was built—in 1996.
@Bumplepimp@Kerig3 You threw away a working product just because it changed color? Or did the plastic get sticky or disintegrate or something? My SNES discolored years ago but I wouldn’t get rid of it or anything.
@PooltoyWolfWho got rid of what? The Glade plugins??? Really? You’re assuming that their discoloration was the only reason they were tossed. But even if they were, why would I want to use those dark yellowing crappy-looking things when new ones only cost a few bucks. BTW, a SNES is not a similar product. smh
@Kerig3 I asked a simple question. No need to blow up at me. But, I do believe I have my answer. I personally happen to believe the color of a product is not a make-or-break aspect of using it under most circumstances, and since you yourself said they were unused, I made the valid assumption you got rid of them based entirely on their color. I would not personally spend any amount of money to replace something because of its color…YMMV. -shrug-
The SNES was mentioned because those discolor for very similar reasons, though I concede the values are totally different. Just an example of similar plastic discoloration, that’s all.
I bought these last time and am very pleased with them. Living in Florida, storms knock out our power on a fairly regular basis. These come in handy when it happens.
@carminian@harborvu You need to teach your cats how to move out of the way rather than let them train you to step over them. That being said mine have me fairly well trained too.
50K hours of lighting while plugged in to a live socket, if the internal power supply circuitry doesn’t fry and the battery doesn’t ignite and the miscellaneous mobile autonomous meat constructs don’t unplug them and …
Yeah. Right. When was the last time that a 110V AC LED lighting device lasted for over five and a half years of continuous operation for you?
These aren’t as feature packed as the Max lights I bought here a few years ago. Night light, motion light, flashlight, adjustable brightness, motion security alarm, and device recharge. They also sound an alarm when a smoke detector alarm is detected. They are still working well after 2-3 years, and they were cheaper than these SecureBrite. Pass on these. Find more of the Max type.
I just received my order. I have to say I’m impressed just after opening the box. The packaging and directions are not like those items I get made offshore. These are professionally packaged and the directions are clear.
I see these are made in Ohio. It is nice to see quality products still made in the US.
plugged them in and they work exactly as promised.

Going into surgery tomorrow. Pray for me. Oh, and something something yakko.
@guybrush01 Hope all goes well for you. Now that you probably jinxed yourself into there being a meh-rathon tomorrows.
@guybrush01
Sending warm and healing thoughts from Michigan!
@guybrush01 best of luck and here’s hoping for a speedy recovery!
@guybrush01
Good luck, hope you have a pain free speedy recovery!
@guybrush01 Best of luck, report back when you can! Prayers said!
@guybrush01 godspeed
Wireless induction charging? Then why do they need to be plugged in? Doesn’t sound very wireless.
@jayman007 Picky picky.
@jayman007 This was entirely my question.
@jayman007 I wondered that the last time they sold them. I bought some of them. It is a lie. They simply have a plug that rotates out to plug it. To use it as a portable light, you unplug it.

@jayman007 @summetj that’d be me! Whoops. I’m going to remove that bullet now
@jayman007 @knavekid

Thanks.
Do they do the blinkin’ lightin’ thingin’ stuffs?
@yakkoTDI There you are! Going into surgery tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated!
@yakkoTDI

These again?
@hchavers At first glance, I thought they were house slippers.
Lighted slippers sounds exactly like some late-night infomercial product or kickstarter campaign which would end up for sale here after failing miserably. The latter being only marginally easier to wear on one’s feet.
Whoever made this knows that people own phones, right? I got a weird brick shaped flashlight already.
@Telanis And I have unweird flashlight-shaped flashlights scattered all over the house at this point.
@werehatrack All sold by meh. Right? Actually a couple they have sold are reasonably decent. At least according to my sister. She believes a woman can’t have too many flashlights. @Knightp rip mehrathons
Anyone know if these turn off when the lights turn on? In other words do these have an ambient light sensor?
@Macoland Some of the descriptions say “Dawn To Dusk Sensor” but others don’t. Also, it appears that these are the WTG095A version, which is the one that doesn’t have the docking cradle.
@Macoland I bought these last time - and yes, mine turn on when it gets dark, then get brighter when there’s motion.
They are not also power banks? Last time they were also power banks and had an alarm mode. Too meh.
@Vertabrae Yep, and I bought 4 of those. They’ve worked beautifully for years until one decided to freak out and there was no way to stop the alarm. I instinctively smashed it to the ground, but the damn thing was too well built (who knew?). @Kerig3 @Vertabrae That is a WEIRD failure mode…
@Kerig3

Nice! They already have that yellow-“been in a smoked in house for fifty years”–color…I can almost smell them.
@Bumplepimp Right! Functionality may be fine, but the aesthetics on these guys screams “your grandmother gave it to you”.
@Bumplepimp I was actually watching these comments to see if anyone else had noticed that. These could have been on a shelf for quite a while and discolored with age. @Bumplepimp @Kerig3 @summetj @troy
@troy throw in and extra set (yes more than two) and I’ll take them. Hey, it will help get them out of the warehouse.
@Bumplepimp I came here exactly to say this. The color makes them look pre-aged!! Standard white would have been so much better. These are close to the color of an early 90s PC case, or a poorly stored Super Nintendo.
@Bumplepimp @Kerig3 I hope this isn’t the case for these, because if so, the internal batteries are likely FUBAR.

Pre-yellowed for your convenience.
36.9 lumens flashlight?!
It provides about the same light as a 2.5 W incandescent bulb.
2.5 watt bulb!
@pixelated
The expression “dimbulb” does seem to come to mind…
The best part of meh items, they usually are solutions looking for an actual problem to solve!
@outdoorslife Haha that has happened before on meh.
As pictured, they block both outlets.
Nope.
@blaineg Yup, even if you plug it into the upper half, it still sticks down far enough to block the lower outlet.
I bought these last time and am very pleased with them. Living in Florida, storms knock out our power on a fairly regular basis. These come in handy when it happens.
@harborvu I got them, too - but not because if storms. I’m nightblind and am no longer stepping on cats in the middle of the night.
@carminian @harborvu You need to teach your cats how to move out of the way rather than let them train you to step over them. That being said mine have me fairly well trained too.
@carminian @Kidsandliz If these lights only had velcro on them, you could attach them directly to the cat.
@harborvu @Kidsandliz I would totally buy that.
@carminian @harborvu @Kidsandliz Duct tape.

That’s refreshing.
Me like! Can I get two more? And to who said they block both outlets, Duh. Turn it around. It’s not a polarized plug.
