Yeah, I don’t either. But, apparently my daughter does. I don’t think she has this brand, but she claims weighed blankets help her calm down/sleep. Personally, I prefer the down comforter.
@bfg9000 My mother seriously injured her shoulder after getting tangled in her comforter while sleeping a few weeks ago. A weighted blanket would have likely killed her.
@hchavers, Or maybe they seriously assume not every travel venture is by air!! Some people jokingly make trips by an auto, a scooter, a motorcycle, a bicycle, a 4-wheeler, a boat, a jet ski, a wheelchair, their feet, a walker, a swim, a canoe, or they just sit around at home & say they traveled!!
@1DisabledWarVet@hchavers
IDK… I think a 6 lb blanket would be even worse on a bicycle. or a jet ski. or hanging off of the front of your walker. And I definitely wouldn’t take one with me on a swim.
Don’t bother. Get yourself a buckwheat pillow instead. Better cooling than glass and plastic (ahem, microfiber). Slightly weighted too.
You will never go back to another pillow.
ProTip - you don’t need big giant regular pillow sizes. The basic Japanese size works perfectly.
I get mine from Beans72.com (for over 15 years). They’re the real deal. There are others on amazon, for sure. And even Bed Bath & Beyond might still carry the “as seen on TV” Sobikawa pillow.
You can compost the old buckwheat hulls and get a bag of new buckwheat hull refills every year or so. They flatten over time and the pillow becomes more sand-like is how I would describe it. Refills are on Amazon. Look for washed and cleaned to minimize dust and other junk in the buckwheat hulls. It’s an organic product, so just like there’s dirt in your produce and imperfections, it has these too.
@jemullins It’s a once every couple of years thing. You dump them with yard clippings or compost, wash the inner pillow case (inside out, by itself so it doesn’t stain other clothes - or items). The natural tannins in the buckwheat will give the casing a tan color (hence the name, duh).
Refill with fresh clean buckwheat hulls and you’re good to go. Total time is 15 minutes, tops
They do have some maintenance because they’re not made of plastic.
Unless you like what happens when your drool and tears mix with organic material and sit for a couple of years in the dark.
It’s for convenience. Sometimes a pillow gives someone too much breathing room, and you have to push down so hard. With this you can set the pillow/blanket over the face, walk away, and let nature take its course.
@mike808@werehatrack I didn’t know quite how to interpret that??? But in any case if I did mention my mother here before, I’m pleased to say she just celebrated here 94th birthday. And is doing slightly better than the Queen at this point.

I don’t get it
@CraigDanger okay, I may not get it either,. …then again, I may get it! Maybe,…maybe not!!
If you swap every “bro” with “Holmes”, it is, at worst, just as funny.
@stinks Mix it up with a “homehcito” or “homielio” or two for added hilarity.
@mike808 That’s a sick idea, Holmes.
I can’t remember what the Holmes twins were selling any more…
@stinks Don’t forget Bro-ski, Bro-seph and Bro-Ham and DARE I say, the ULTIMATE Bro-Ski - Not Now Chief-I’m in the Freakin’ Zone!
@BuddTX @stinks
< Chad has entered the chat >
@BuddTX @mike808 @stinks A pencil pin head. Now that is attractive. Not. Someone has a twisted sense of body and played with photo shot. Gross.
@stinks That whole thing was a massive broverdose.
@stinks “Holmeschacho” is hard to say.
@BuddTX @mike808 @stinks Chad or Chin?

Is it, by chance, made in the USA?
@hchavers It’s nowhere near deadly enough to be made here.
@hchavers No, but it has a little loop of red, white, and blue webbing to make you think it might.
*not for use in pillow fights.
charges will be made.
@alacrity Wimps.
Cats do gravity better than these, as long as you don’t mind their shedding. And they wash themselves.
@werehatrack I agree there. Try Siamese. == Little shedding.
@bfg9000 @werehatrack, or try a Mexican Hairless = no shedding!
@1DisabledWarVet @werehatrack I still like to pet a little hair. And I shall leave it there. Notice the rhyme.
@1DisabledWarVet @bfg9000 @werehatrack
A heavy blanket
You can put it on your lap
I prefer a cat
@1DisabledWarVet @bfg9000 @pmarin @werehatrack
Haiku skills on point
But cats are shedding machines
And blankets don’t scratch
@1DisabledWarVet @bfg9000 @TimW @werehatrack
I think of a cat
as a self-cleaning blanket
where has that tongue been?
@bfg9000 @werehatrack The Siamese I’ve met have all been a little whacko.
The travel pillow suggestion must be a joke. No way I am carrying 6 pounds of weights through airport security or while running between connections.
@1DisabledWarVet @hchavers a 6 pound pillow on a train? Are you trying to kill us all??
@1DisabledWarVet @hchavers @mcanavino Why not just take a real pillow that is actually comfortable?
@1DisabledWarVet @hchavers
IDK… I think a 6 lb blanket would be even worse on a bicycle. or a jet ski. or hanging off of the front of your walker. And I definitely wouldn’t take one with me on a swim.
Wow, tonight’s write-up had me on the edge of my seat! (God help me, i need to get out more. )
@ircon96 He does help you, Brother, He gives you [& All of us] Free Will.
@1DisabledWarVet @ircon96
@ircon96 @stinks, your video had no sound, or audio!!
@1DisabledWarVet @stinks I got the audio from it, maybe your volume was turned all the way down…?

@mike808 Just checked out their site, thanks. Now this is future thinking: “Copyright 2021-2028 beans72.com. All Rights Reserved.”
@mike808 you almost had me intrigued. But after that hard sell, I realized you are arguing regular refurbing/working on your pillow.
you know pillows are supposed to be relaxing and not work, right?
@kathyl @mike808 So the end of the world is 2028 now?

@mike808
Are these pillows gluten free?
@gageaa75 Buckwheat is not wheat at all, and yes, the hulls are gluten-free.
@gageaa75 But they don’t do Bluetooth, and they’ll overheat your MacBook.
@jemullins @mike808 ha! I came to say the same. Good thing we read the fine print terms and conditions!
@kathyl @mike808 @pmarin
The pillow has spoken.
You think my lap needs more weight???
@phendrick Yes. It’s for traction with all that lube everywhere.
And what’s wrong with there being more of you to love? Put some meat on dem bones.
It’s for convenience. Sometimes a pillow gives someone too much breathing room, and you have to push down so hard. With this you can set the pillow/blanket over the face, walk away, and let nature take its course.
@Sweetbabyjames I need this.
@autumn01113 @Sweetbabyjames To use on whom? We promise not to tell
So how at we doing at hitting the monthly required number of microfiber products sold here? I think the management goals are at least 10 per month.
@pmarin Speaking of hitting things regularly, hows your mom, bro?
@mike808 I thought you were the one hitting on his mom…
@mike808 @werehatrack I didn’t know quite how to interpret that??? But in any case if I did mention my mother here before, I’m pleased to say she just celebrated here 94th birthday. And is doing slightly better than the Queen at this point.
