@cengland0 The exact specs on this model are really stressing my post-holiday Google-Fu, but if similar Mophie models in this smaller form factor are any indicator, it seems that this is a straight 5V system, without any fancy Qualcomm QC capabilities. That would also rule out USB-C PD beyond the somewhat increased amperage allowance of 3.0 amps (15 Watts, at 5V). For the price, that puts these in contention with the oldest model Anker or Aukey units on the Amaz, which are reliable but also lacking USB-C and QC, but with the svelte form factor that gives Mophie some of their moxie. Worthwhile to me, but I like hoarding tech and power stuff
@communistjack FYI, Power Delivery can charge up to 100 watts per the latest standard and as far as I know, can go up to 20V.
I like QC 3 because my Samsung devices use this to negotiate higher voltages with their quick charge specs.
This power bank’s output is fixed at 5V so there is no need to negotiate any higher voltages between the battery and the device needing charged. So that means no quick charging for any device.
@Woody1
Although you’re technically right about it not being $50 at Verizon, it is $49.99. Meh just rounds their figures. Ever notice nothing on this site sells for anything other than whole dollar amounts?
@curtise Why maybe the marketing dept got it wrong and already had the coffee cups printed and decided to go with the new spelling before anyone of consequence found out.
@DreamTheEndless@Michaelforman The nominally 3.7 volt battery inside the power brick is rated at 8000mAH, that is nominally 29.6 watt-hours.
If the DC-DC converter is 100% efficient (impossible, real world physics is cruel) and the batteries actually did store as much as advertised (possibly when these were fresh from the factory, but that isn’t how Meh’s business model works), then these could put out 15 watts for just under 2 hours.
These are pretty tempting at this price, although I have way too many (larger) powerbanks already… maybe I’ll wait until later today, and if there are still some available… maybe? Hmmm, decisions, decisions.
Of all the power banks you sell I always compare them to this one, seems like it was a much better deal! Haven’t seen one with this much power at this price since! “Tzumi 12,000 mAh Power Bank with Quick Charge 3.0 USB and Lightening Port” $9.00 on April 3rd, 2019. They are not as pretty as the pink ones, but more power, less price! Bring these back!
@jmrobinett but what is a “lightening” port anyway, when what you probably want is a “lightning port”… I blame Meh, not you. (Still love you, Meh, kinda.)
Meh is on another power trip! These are coming more frequently, indicating a recreation is becoming an addiction. Pretty soon, there will have go be an intervention, or be co-dependent on the obsession.
Another words: STOP BUYING THESE SO MEH WILL STOP SELLING THEM!
After recently purchasing a 2-pack (Shakur?) of the 8000mAh Scorpion X, which has built-in cables for pretty much everything, from meh for less than this, I think they should not offer a charger without built-in cables. Ever. Again.
@hockeybum Well, yeah on the 2pac reference. As for cables… I actually don’t mind because I don’t want a bunch of attached cheap and possibly non-certified cables. Especially if you are using the Apple Lightning port, the cable has to be valid and this usually means the company paying a fee to Apple. Especially with all this port-changing going on – what connector to what connector? World is gettin’ too complicated. Like just having good output ports that I can use as I wish, as this seems to have.
@hockeybum I bought those… and I bought this. I have dozens of these things. I’m trying to phase out all of the micro ones I have and replace them with c or lightning.
I give the old ones away as “prizes” for my robotics students. In fact, I give a lot of meh junk away to students as “prizes”.
People will often buy you a drink if you let them charge their phone. I’ve had people pick up my tab because I let them keep a battery and charger cable that I got from meh for 10 bucks.
I like pink because I hate pink.
I can leave it out because I forgot to put it back in my desk and/or glove box and friends are too embarrassed to steal it.
It did take awhile for these suckers to arrive, but for the price, worth the wait. One stays home, one goes in the camper trailer. Now … this tired and technology challenged customer has to eait til tomorrow to play with 'em.

@cengland0 this is power delivery at 15 watts via usb c to usb c cable
also fast chargers iphone 8,10,11 if you have a usb c to lightning cable

@cengland0 No QC, no go.
So… Is this where I make my speaker dock joke? Or do I go old school and make a knife crack?
$12 each is fair. Verizon is not selling any @ $50 though

It’s got an A to C cable for INFINITE CHARGE LOOP! Or to heat up and start a fire. Either way, that’s hot.
The description and write up BOTH get the name wrong! It’s MOPHIE, not Morphie.
Might want to fix that, at least on the description…
@curtise LOL good catch. Fixed 'em all
@curtise MORPHIE sounded so much better. I was hoping it was going to morph into a Decepticon. My Autobot Android was going to fight for its power.
@curtise Why maybe the marketing dept got it wrong and already had the coffee cups printed and decided to go with the new spelling before anyone of consequence found out.
3 amps and how many volts???
@DreamTheEndless It’s a 5 V charger, capable of delivering 15 W. At the full 3 A draw, it will provide power for approximately 2.6 hours.
@DreamTheEndless @Michaelforman The nominally 3.7 volt battery inside the power brick is rated at 8000mAH, that is nominally 29.6 watt-hours.
If the DC-DC converter is 100% efficient (impossible, real world physics is cruel) and the batteries actually did store as much as advertised (possibly when these were fresh from the factory, but that isn’t how Meh’s business model works), then these could put out 15 watts for just under 2 hours.
Is the existence of Meh.com not ample warning to would-be powerbank entrepreneurs?!

@jmrobinett It’s also fairly thick, not quite as easy to pocket
@jmrobinett but what is a “lightening” port anyway, when what you probably want is a “lightning port”… I blame Meh, not you. (Still love you, Meh, kinda.)
@DrWorm has no idea why they’re being tagged here.
@jmrobinett @mehvid1 I don’t know, with this Corona baby I am carrying around, I think I could use the lightening port.
@jmrobinett @ponagathos ‘Quarantine 15’ is for real.
@jmrobinett @mehvid1 Like this?
@jmrobinett @mehvid1 Or maybe like this?

@jmrobinett @mehvid1 @ponagathos Not for me thank goodness. Wasn’t easy either. PINK???
Doubling down doesn’t make it any cooler.
“Alas”? Is that a clue?
Mophies are actually pretty good; I have several and I like the size.
@Kyeh agreed
mophie power banks work better and last longer than my generic branded banks, but other than this sale, mophie banks have always been more expensive
Meh. If I buy enough of your stupid, cheap power banks, maybe someday I’ll actually have a charged one around when I need it.
@arielleslie
/8ball Will this work?

Hmm…3A is better than anything I currently have.

mine are stuck in shipped and nothing changes
@stuckigs - same! Stuck in Indiana for daysssssss
@eballeine mine finally arrived no instructions on charging I assume after leaving them plugged in overnight they should be charged.
Does it cost meh more for the extra Slow shipping? shows it has been in “shipping” for 6 Texas is here on 2nd day via USPS.
Meh’s shipping has become disgraceful. I won’t order from them again until I learn that they stop using Putney Bowes
OMG - my package made it to Pitney Bowes in Georgia today after sitting 9 days in Pitney Bowes in Texas! Will wonders never cease!
Mine seem to be making a never ending loop back and forth between TX and IN.
It did take awhile for these suckers to arrive, but for the price, worth the wait. One stays home, one goes in the camper trailer. Now … this tired and technology challenged customer has to eait til tomorrow to play with 'em.
Mine still haven’t shipped! Three weeks and a day since purchase.
how much were these things?
I too have not received my purchase. My order date was May 26. Love this site. Have to decide if it takes a month to get it is it worth it
Received 6-20. Pony express is alive and well
Mine has been shipped, got an hour away from me, now it’s in another state! I will never order from this site again!
I cannot get them to connect. Who can I talk with there for help?
