In for one (pair.) I have the smaller pink Mophie cell phone charger and I am pleased with performance. It keeps my Pixel 2XL going when playing Pokemon Go outside in a Chicago winter. The only quirk is that it won’t charge plugged into the USB-C port on my laptop. Cell phone does fast charging that way. The Mophie will slow charge plugged into an ordinary charger using USB A-C cable and that’s my preference anyway. Slower charging should extend cell lifetime.
I own a few of these Morphies and my family has been pretty happy with them. There hasn’t been any complaints about them yet and they get a lot of use. Do note the USB-C. Since there are models with the old USB-B on it still.
The only ones that were more reliable were the old sneaker covered batteries. I still have those and they surprisingly work.

I’m surprised nobody has yet discussed buying them just to tear open the case and re-purpose the internal batteries for some alternate (undoubtedly nefarious) use.
18650 cells cost at least $6 apiece!
@digitalblunder@RedOak The price of lithium batteries in terms of dollars per watt-hour has been dropping by slightly over a factor of ten each decade. If you didn’t check the price within the last month, it is out of date.
At one point, Panasonic’s highest capacity 18650 could hold more than 3 times the watt hours of their highest power cell, while the highest power cell could safely handle more than ten times the amperage.
Cell designers make a whole lot of tradeoffs depending on the target market. They optimize for one or a few specifications at the expense of the others: rated capacity, maximum discharge current, maximum charge rate, weight, guaranteed number of cycles, and cost are interdependent variables.
I have seen some LiPo batteries that were rated for only 25 charge-discharge cycles. They were optimized for inexpensive toy drones. The drones are sold with 2 or 3 batteries, so the rest are charging while one is flying.
There are a bunch of manufacturers that make batteries that are significantly cheaper than the Panasonic cells, but many of the specs aren’t as good. There are companies that still make and sell 1 amp-hour 18650s.
Nice the 2-year Mophie warranty survives on these, assuming Meh is an authorized seller.
And these are still being sold by Mophie/Zagg, albeit at $30 each. No long ago cancelled, dusty models here today, coming off sitting in a leaky shipping container for who knows how long.

I don’t recommend these. I originally ordered 2 of them and one of them wouldn’t charge. The lights flashed and it appeared to start charging, but never got any higher than 1 light after an overnight charge.
After getting a replacement set from the most excellent Katie in customer support, the same issue has happened again. This time I reached out to Mophie support and the best they did was offer a 10% coupon. I told them that I already lost confidence in their product, their response was that purchasing through their website gives the 2 year warranty.
That’s not reassuring. If you want me to crap in a box and slap a guarantee on it, I can do it (I have spare time), but all that means is I have a guaranteed piece of crap.
At first I thought the writeup title was ‘Power Hitler’.
Please, just, no. At this point you’ve sold more batteries than the energizer bunny and Elon Musk combined.
@guybrush01 Sounds like you just need another refrigerator to store them all.
I never thought I would say this I have enough power! You gotta stop with the portable power.

Power banks? On Meh.com? I’m shocked!
@DoctorOW I’m waiting for the ones with the built in bluetooth speakers wrapped in candy corn.
@DoctorOW @Fodder650 or Stroopwaffels

@Fodder650 that gif is a little disturbing…
@katbyter And it’s too late for me to reedit it.
@Fodder650 @katbyter
@Fodder650 Thanks. I can’t unsee this.
4.25” x 7.87” Say, What Half a pound for a mere 6700 mAh, no less. Better deal… sell them as weapons.

18650 cells cost at least $6 apiece!
@compunaut so you think there are 3 cells in each? Case measurement hints that. But can’t the right 18650’s reach 3350 mAh each?
@RedOak if there are 2 cells in each, and you get 2 for $18, each cell only costs $4.50 (or $5.75 with paying $5 shipping)

My first Meh!
@laweez Condolences.
Regretting making the decision of “one more month” (membership) on Sunday.
Please - no more power banks without built-in cables…
Did someone mention candy corn?
@glarue Only if you get the knife to cut the block of candy corn with.
How long is the USB-C to USB-C cable?
I guess these are the new speaker docks of 2021.
I see what Mophie did with that clever turn of words.

Are the batteries Lithium-Ion or Lithium Polymer? The Mophie/Zagg website and the manual don’t say.
Huh. Clicked on the link thinking it would be something to do with “switch.”

These look like baby toys compared to my pair of Ecoflow Deltas with 4 110W solar panels.
So I bought them! I like hoarding power

Is that really the model number? M16HTY-M0PH1N6-P0W3R-R4N63R5 Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers?
Hey Meh, where are my promised “2x USB-C to USB-C cables”?
Mine only got boring old A to C cable
