Has anyone ever had one of these things not break on you? Also, don’t forget to make sure you have some Nu-skin handy. I always slice a finger cleaning those blades.
@goldnectar I’ve used mine a couple of times…but only to chop relatively soft veggies (celery and onions). I’m nervous about putting anything tougher in there because it seems like it could break.
I like it and it works surprisingly well (and it’s fun to pull the string, lol!), but yes…those blades are super sharp!
@goldnectar@k4evryng Maybe I should’ve gotten these—one of my favorite activities is taking useful, well-designed objects made out of dogshit materials/components & systematically replacing the parts until I manage to ship of Theseus them into something that does justice to the poor son of a bitch who thought it was a good idea to pitch his idea to soulless corporotic CEOs & bean counters.
@goldnectar@k4evryng Even if you just swapped out the flimsiest pieces for aluminum stock or even just made the spindle out of hardwood or something—it’s legitimately crazy how much 1 or 2 replaced/upgraded parts can turn a mediocre tool into something you’ll use for most of your life. All because of some dumb C-suite bitch decided to shave a couple pennies off the manufacturing cost because his bonus was tied to a quarterly EPS target or something.

The concept is interesting, and it definitely works. The fun factor is there as well.
It would be funny to see a lawn mower level pull cord and metal gears on this, and see what it could chop.
