@ciabelle people who do partake but aren’t smoking right this minute?
People who still live with Mom and she says quit smoking them tweeds in my house, and they say no Mom it’s a candle and prove it, thus building an alibi for smoking out Mom’s basement?
@ciabelle I am increasingly subjected to the potently pungent odor of burning cannabis against my will, so I don’t understand how anyone could ever seek it out.
@ciabelle@PooltoyWolf Its one of the strongest triggers for my wife’s asthma, many times we are just walking down the street or through the grocery store parking lot and she will get a whiff and we immediately have to go home so she can do a treatment. Pretty shitty way to live your life when just breathing the air outside gives you an asthma attack.
@ciabelle in highschool i’d host shindigs and we’d burn pot in an incense bowl so Moms would think that we were getting ‘high’ and not suspect that she had 15 kids on acid in her apartment.
@ciabelle@tlange413 Agree completely. My mom had a severe bout with bronchitis years back and it screwed up her lungs, so she’s also badly affected by it.
The sidedeal listing shows “Homesick Natural Soy Wax USA Candle” – hand poured in the USA with a natural soy wax blend… Anyone want to venture a guess on the country of origin of the smelly “soy wax” ?
@caffeineguy with the amount of soybeans grown in the United States, it’s most likely from the United States. It seems that would be the cheapest and smartest option at least, so maybe not.
Well, I was thinking of a particular 2-pack after reading the descriptions, but I didn’t realize how much New Home there was.
Well, someone is getting a surprise gift this year.

@ArmchairGamer I figured since so many people want a new home (or hell, just their first home in the face of these high interest rates), everyone gets a new home with this offer. Or at least the smell of one!
(It’s also the most plentiful scent we have by a lot )
@PooltoyWolf It’s a kind of resinous wood; I tried a perfume heavily scented with it and I didn’t like it. Not like pine or sandalwood or cedar - much heavier.
@krmugn52@PooltoyWolf I seriously doubt it; the other name for the scented wood is agarwood, and it’s incredibly scarce and expensive from what I know.
If I was in a physical store that had these I would love to smell them, not burning but just in the holder. Because some of the descriptions make me really want to shake my head. But I’ve worked with essential and fragrance oils before
What do any of these really smell like? I don’t need my house to smell like Dodgers Stadium or whatever, and those candles described (Thanks, etc) aren’t on the list.
Tropicana Field, ROFL. As @ddbelyea noted, that one probably smells like mildew and sadness. But I think the “top notes” include painful wind in face, $17 overcooked hot dogs, hops, and debris…

So waxy smooth.
@yakkoTDI Tropicana Field as a scent?
@yakkoTDI Hopefully they captured the essence a few months prior.
@yakkoTDI At this point I’m guessing it just smells like mildew and sadness. But mostly mildew.
@yakkoTDI that’s what she said.
If it ain’t top notes of Tater Tots, I’ll pass.
I think the copy writer was going for Smell:
“First of all, how does air small frosted?”
Thank you!
Sorry I didn’t give you all of them at once…
Here’s one more:
This was close, but apparently t,he answer is “Ski Trip.”
@Euniceandrich Thanks for playing editor tonight! Got 'em both fixed up.
@Euniceandrich @ExtraMedium but still talmbout “Frosted Flaks”
@adavidw @Euniceandrich shhhhhh
Til that candles are f’n expensive. I guess IKEA spoiled me.
@goldnectar clearly you’ve never heard of Yankee Candle.
@goldnectar If you want to see expensive candles checkout diptyque
Kind of looks like a soda can.
@AaronLeeJohnson I saw that too, thought of those novelty drinking glasses that are shaped like cans.
@AaronLeeJohnson that’s what she said.
Why on earth would you want a candle which smells like cannabis? Is there much of a market for people who don’t partake but enjoy the aroma?

Intriguing but my nose isn’t fancy enough for shit like this. Any scent in three part harmony is probably lost on me.
At least they don’t smell like Gwyneth Paltrow’s Candle!
@IndifferentDude Tbh, I’d like to verify that one.
To tie this into yesterday’s mehrathon, thirty dollar candles are probably for people who also buy forty dollar T-shirts.

They burn soy in Asia, and there are tariffs against that.

@troy sounds like a classic case of over-building new homes.
I can’t be the only one who hasn’t the faintest clue what oud wood is.
@PooltoyWolf It’s a kind of resinous wood; I tried a perfume heavily scented with it and I didn’t like it. Not like pine or sandalwood or cedar - much heavier.
@Kyeh Gotcha, thanks!
@Kyeh @PooltoyWolf Also a stringed instrument of Middle East origin.

@krmugn52 @Kyeh Is it made from the wood sharing its name?

Too bad they won’t get here in time for the department white elephant. I’ll have to save them for next year.
Yeah…A candle that smells like a dirty Hippy?! Get out of here! Dumbass
@Bumplepimp What? I missed the patchouli scented candle?
@Bumplepimp @yakkoTDI
My home already smells like sick, I don’t need a candle to provide that.
The phrase comes to me, not, “You’ll shoot you’ll eye out,” but, “You’ll burn your house down!”
If I was in a physical store that had these I would love to smell them, not burning but just in the holder. Because some of the descriptions make me really want to shake my head. But I’ve worked with essential and fragrance oils before

I can’t make up my mind
@debdamndeal Buy them all!
Duderini, I wanted to buy “Book Club”. You led me on, then taunted me.
@madamehardy I thought that one sounded better than any they were actually selling too!
Crisp Beer
Literally L-ingOL.
Well this is some eclectic trash
