Big Clive just released a video on these yesterday. Summary: they leave oils and fats in your clothes. So they are nearly indistinguishable from cleaning with just water.
By definition: plain water will wash away all of the dirt that is water soluble. It leaves everything else behind. Heat, detergent, and agitation speed up the process. More importantly, detergent will wash away fats and oils. Enzymes break up proteins, which remove some stains.
@hamjudo that guy honestly had no clue what he was talking about. He also didn’t do any verifiable tests of any sort… he just went by what he “thought” happened.
The fact that he thought the white pellets were a detergent of some sort means he would inevitably be wrong about everything else.
I’ve tried these already and they get my clothes clean with just a hint of fragrance. I have sensitive skin and it’s ok on my skin. With the two loads a week I do, this will last forever.
