After seven years, this was my final straw. I’m canceling my MEH subscription. What’s the matter? You couldn’t sell cat shit in the bag you guys suck bad.
@k9mckaig@MrGoodGuy yeah kinda confusing. At $5 a pop they’re, dare I say, tempting. I might actually replace my “plastic bag looped on the gearshift” trash receptacle.
Probably not, but of all the items to go out on… his ain’t the one.
Fair number of orders. Not much engagement. /shrug

@k9mckaig@MrGoodGuy@stinks this person makes, on average, 3.2 Meh purchases each month over 7 years. Sounds like this sudden exit might have been the result of an intervention when the reality of their problem was exposed to them by caring family members.
Or perhaps they just skipped their meds today, who knows…
@user53857659 Do you happen to live near a Menards? If so, great (this is a pick-up not a shipped deal), except for mail-in rebates are often a come-on, offering store credit or not sending the rebate at all. At least in my experience.
@Jonas4321@user53857659 Think I’m at least 1000 miles from a Menards. Didn’t know mail-in rebates were still a thing. I remember the days of CompUSA and Circuit City having lots of rebates (including “free after rebate”). We would drive around Sunday morning and load up on keyboards and PC Cards and mouses, then spend the rest of the day filling out rebate forms, photocopying for evidence, logging into a spreadsheet. It was a S#&load of work! But it was kind-of fun. Mostly I DID get the checks but then you had to bring to bank of course. Now I am cleaning up stuff from my house and finding sealed boxes of Stuff except for UPC code I cut out for rebate.
I have one (a different style) that I replaced the plastic bag hanging from my shifter with and it’s the best thing. Even though I just put a plastic bag inside it, it somehow makes my car look so much nicer inside. Also when the plastic bag was near empty before and I had my windows down it would be flying everywhere and I’d have to make sure it was tucked inbetween the seat now it stays nicely in the trash can. It’s the stupid things in life that make you happy.
@Star2236 My plastic bag is attached to two raised arm rests between the driver and passenger seats. Works well. And nothing to clean. Just dump the bag and hang another one.
Of course I don’t live in a state that has banned plastic grocery bags. I’ll be in deep shit when/if this happens here. I use them to put used cat litter in, the aforementioned use, and to wrap presents in for kids who only care about the present and not what it is “wrapped” in.
These fit great in RAV4s, CR-Vs, Imprezzas and Ascents. But those are all the cars in our immediate family, so I don’t need to purchase more of these. Just wanted to give a field report on what I have learned.
@blaineg I have equipped all 6 vehicles with these devices, and I don’t plan on additional vehicles, so 3 2-packs set me up nicely. Yes, 2 CR-V, 2 RAV4, 1 Impreza and one Ascent. one for each adult in my family (I am old).
@chienfou There are so many places in a vehicle that it’s best not to put one of these.
…Thinking about all those places has somehow caused me to cancel all my Youtube subscriptions, of X years. I’m not sure how that action would logically follow, exactly, but anyway, that second-rate unpopular backwater streaming website couldn’t sell cat videos projected onto a bag, depicting cats in a bag, filmed by a person wearing a bag. Take that, Youtube!
This is a great price - I paid full Amazon price. But I haven’t been able to find a good place to put it. At the floor of the passenger seat? Not good for the passenger. On the passenger seat headrest so it’s convenient to put trash in? Sux if someone sits behind the passenger seat & has this hanging in front of their face. Same for the backseat foot areas. So, great concept but I haven’t found it practical especially with passengers.
Looking forward to advice where to put it so it’s convenient to use while simultaneously not interfering with anyone in the car.
@mrbillmc For me, behind passenger seat on floor. Yes, that assumes I don’t have a rear-seat passenger there. Easy to get to and visually sits out of the way(black box on black interior).
What happened to our resident Inebriated Feline? Wonder if he got caught soliciting at the local Speakeasy since his usual vendor of spirits was closed? You know, the kind of place that displays this sign:
@Kyeh at least in the past, I would do multi-day road trips in a truck with a camper. Did not get a lot of fast food—mostly snacks like jerky and fruit and cheese. But yes the wrappers ended up…mostly on the floor in front of me on the driver side. If stopping late for the night they would stay there, but eventually they would be grabbed and dumped.
@Kyeh@pmarin My son’s internship is ending and I’m flying out to help him drive home. He’s a huge roller coaster fan so we’re doing amusement parks along the way. Three are in Missouri.
I got one of these last time. What size bags go in these? 3 gallon? I have been using it just for dry things (paper) so it won’t smell but it’d be nice to have flexbility if i need to put a cup or tissue in there

@ArmchairGamer @sammydog01 Or is it the amount of trash that requires a second set?
Parody inspired by Chili Palmer intended solely as a sad attempt at cultural relevance to “Bones” Barboni.

@k9mckaig
I’d honestly be pretty impressed by anyone who could sell cat shit by the bag - is that a market that you’re familiar with?
[And dare I ask why you might be familiar with it?
Never mind.]
These would be Purr-fect for @DrunkCat to put his AI Garbage in when he makes his daily trip to the liquor store!!
/showme a Drunk Cat putting AI Garbage into a car trash can while driving to the liquor store for more booze.
@mediocrebot I guess too much booze turns a cat’s paws into human-like hands!!

Gotta have the opposable thumbs to open the bottles!
@mediocrebot @MrGoodGuy “Too much booze” can also turn a two-bit bottled blond into a ten - at least till morning.

While I don’t think I would keep it set up all the time, it will certainly be handy for long trips.

Plastic bag from the grocery store (free) vs. cheap and ugly car can ($5).
@SChannell where I am you have to pay for your grocery bag if you don’t bring your own. 8 cents, and it will be paper.
@pmarin @SChannell then you don’t want to buy this as you line it with a plastic bag according to the photos and words on the photos.
@Kidsandliz Around here it’s like @pmarin’s state, but produce bags are still free for fruits and veg. So you could use those.
These fit great in RAV4s, CR-Vs, Imprezzas and Ascents. But those are all the cars in our immediate family, so I don’t need to purchase more of these. Just wanted to give a field report on what I have learned.
@Jonas4321
“Thank you for your service”
@Jonas4321 All plural. Just how many of each do you have?
Are you sure you don’t need more?
@blaineg @Jonas4321 I could use one if you have extras.
Warning: DO NOT place these in the space at your feet if you are the driver…
@chienfou What about on top of the dash?
@chienfou There are so many places in a vehicle that it’s best not to put one of these.

These are pretty decent. Definitely a better visual than an open grocery bag floating around the backseat.
These things are great. Placed one in my wife’s car right behind the passenger seat. She actually keeps her car kind of clean now! Win win

I have an item like this strapped behind the center console (instead of a seat). It’s symmetrical!
@mrbillmc Mine fits perfectly on the hump in the back row.

I guess I’m in the minority, but I always take my trash into the house after driving. But then I don’t stop at fast food places much either.
@Kyeh @pmarin My car trash can fills up with Kleenex, lifesaver wrappers, and receipts mostly. So it’s good for a long time, stench-wise.
@pmarin @sammydog01 Well, I don’t often drive long distances, so that’s another factor.
@Kyeh @pmarin I’ve got 2000 or so miles coming up this weekend. Wish me luck.
