@AmazingChicken The larger black thing above the upper clamp turns on a screw inside and gradually tightens that clamp against whatever surface youâre attaching it to. I have a couple Aduro branded ones and they work well as far as clamping, and the wire thing is very stiff, but they wobble every time you touch the phone or tablet. This isnât really a design flaw so much as physics in action, though.
Meh, youâve done it again. One of these I might go for, but two? The second one just does not seem like a warm, thoughtful gift for anybody I know. Not even my kitty would feel flattered.
@hchavers Plastic clamps are only the start too; Try adding anything bigger than an iPad mini, and itâs toast - The arms wonât hold position. And my iPad Pro (the smallest one)? Forget about it!
@arosiriak@hchavers I had one of these or at least the visual equal, not sure of the branding. It did NOT hold an Ipad mini unless the arm was vertical. It was not strong enough to hold it any other way. It might work for a smartphone. Also, if you touch the screen at all, it bounces around, so not great if you are scrolling through text. May work for watching movies on a phone. I found it pretty useless.
@Hiz Probably because this product is so USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESS USELESSSSSSSS that they couldnât even bother.
I liked them when I bought them last time. Donât need more, but would purchase if I was still in the market. I use it for my large cell phone. Itâs an easy buy if youâre on the fence for something that fits my use case.
I bought it last time, it works fine for holding my iPad for viewing but if you use it the bouncing gets old quick. Good for videos or monitoring something
I have a couple of these from happyluckyfunco off Amazon. Works fine for my phone, anything bigger becomes a concern that it will smack you right in the face. Not lucky or fun.
Protip: make a circle out of it for added sturdiness. It works.
Also, no complaints about editing today. That write up was clever. It gave me a headache. +1.
We use these to stream live music on our website. As long as the bass isnât too heavy in a club, these things are pretty great. Buying 2 more in this deal.
There are rigid clamping mounts for tablets and laptops for professional use (police, EMS, rally drivers). These are not the clamps youâre looking for.
/image not the droids
@Bumplepimp No. a) That movie was made before white supremacists adopted that gesture as their own. b) It is not displayed in a context that could be reasonably attributed to any malicious intent.
I can confirm what was stated the last time these were sold. The twisty unit that secures the holder to the wire arm is super cheap, thin and brittle plastic. Sure enough, I tried to adjust my phone and the piece snapped in half. Make sure you do not put pressure on this plastic ring for any adjustments. I am currently super gluing this piece and plan to wrap it in Sugru. Weâll see.
Otherwise, theyâre pretty neat. My brother loves his. Also, in case anyone is wondering, these can handle a nintendo switch console.
Bought one somewhere else. Had it clamped to my headboard for 12 months- used it twice. The bouncing is only a problem if you are scrolling or surfing. Pretty good for reading or watching video. Not anything that will turn your life around, or meet an actual need.
I used a considerably more robust version of this in my car â bolted to the seat rail, no plastic involved â but even so, with an iPad mounted it wobbled a lot. I ended up tying it to the gear shift with a short bungee cord. Much more stable, but kinda unsightly.
I have been enjoying mine but one just broke after only about a week of use. I donât suppose there is any recourse. The back part of the clamp snapped off without much force applied to it. Be gentle with them.
@therealjrn Thanks. I submitted info. I was guessing that by the time I pay for shipping it wouldnât be worth it, but you never know, they may not require that.

So how do those clampy things work? These donât look very robust.

Same as the last ones that cracked at the base clamp?
@eeterrific oh yea well have some REM to go with that sly
Meh, youâve done it again. One of these I might go for, but two? The second one just does not seem like a warm, thoughtful gift for anybody I know. Not even my kitty would feel flattered.
Plastic Clamps for the loss!

No JoJo jokes? I donât know whether to be disappointed or relieved.

âItâ s normal:shake or bounce a little if you touch the screen in the process of using. It does not belong to product quality problem.â
Uhh, sure. OK is if I does not buy?
{VMod edit: fixed the pic.}
@cadmore Purchase for the recommend as maximum good feel to friend family and child - very much enjoy and transportation!
How many of these would I have to duct tape together to make them capable of holding up a 16 to 20 inch display?
@ravenblack based on the one I have, if you worked two in tandem, it ought to work?
A trashy, PHONE-related product 2-pack sold on a day thatâs not a Tuesday? I will not STAND for this!
@ShotgunX What does tuesday have to do with it?
@ShotgunX Welcome to Meh.
2-for-Tuesday is a thing here.

That writeup nearly gave me an aneurysm.
Iâd have to buy TWO? Nope, I wonât stand for it.
Can I attach this to my toilet seat? So I can âwipe myselfâ
while enjoying some adult moviesâŚLike Joker, I mean to sayâŚyeah
@Bumplepimp lol. This thing is so long that you could probably have a toilet VR experience.
HmmâŚit seems to be be a very convinient thing! I will think about purchasing.
@mashaprofy Well, hello. Youâre new here, arenât you?
I bought it last time, it works fine for holding my iPad for viewing but if you use it the bouncing gets old quick. Good for videos or monitoring something
@oldmantick Yes, monitoring seismic activity as it bounces to the beat of the fault line!

@pmarin Oh Geez, Is that the white supremacist hand signal he is displaying or just a Jedi âOKâ?enter link description here

From product specs: Device grip expands from 5" to 8"âŚ
âŚUnfortunately, my device requires a firm 9.8" gripâŚand I only wish I was talking about something other than my Companion.
These things are cool but I never use it.
Bought one somewhere else. Had it clamped to my headboard for 12 months- used it twice. The bouncing is only a problem if you are scrolling or surfing. Pretty good for reading or watching video. Not anything that will turn your life around, or meet an actual need.
Iâve seen these at both a 99¢ Only Store (for $3) and a FiveBelow (for $5). $15 for the set is kind of a rip for two.
I used a considerably more robust version of this in my car â bolted to the seat rail, no plastic involved â but even so, with an iPad mounted it wobbled a lot. I ended up tying it to the gear shift with a short bungee cord. Much more stable, but kinda unsightly.
I bought them last time. Theyâre bouncy for sure, but great for watching youtube from bed. It also made a good gift for mom.
I have been enjoying mine but one just broke after only about a week of use. I donât suppose there is any recourse. The back part of the clamp snapped off without much force applied to it. Be gentle with them.
