These are a ripoff of Secrid wallets, although a fraction of the price. I’ve been using a Secrid for about 8 years and would never go back to a traditional wallet. Assuming the lever mechanism works as well as the Secrid version, get rid of the “leather” part and use the card holders individually!
@mike808 lol. I hope so! I love my Secrid wallet, and if this is even half as good, I’d say it’s a great deal. Depends on your expectations I suppose, but it works for me. I carry a couple credit cards, ID, couple insurance cards in the case, and a couple bills in my front pocket. Before this, I seriously was getting to the Costanza wallet size, and it genuinely was giving me back pain.
@djslack Ha! I don’t think it works like that, but I hope they end up being halfway decent. It’s a pretty simple design, but hard to say about quality. My Secrid has been pretty bulletproof. We’ll see!
@ardycake My wife got me my Securid about 8 years ago. I thought it was a little weird at first, can’t imagine using anything else now. Hope you kept the wallet and got rid of the boyfriend!
@ardycake@eVil I hope you dumped the boyfriend (or he changed radically). When I was 16 I’d have never had the heart to reject a present from a girlfriend. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’d have the heart to reject a present from my wife (or kids or grandkids).
@blaineg All I carried for years was an All-Ett and loved it. And one day, I saw this https://airocollective.com/products/stealth-wallet-razor on a crowdfunding site. I (lightly) panicked, wondering if I could really pare down my cards to 8 (give or take). I did it and (now) don’t regret it. That said, I have a small All-Ett for my “healthcare” cards for when I go to the doctor/dentist/etc., but for my EDC, I really love this Razor Stealth thing.
@macromeh After many years of use, I replaced mine with a new All-Ett last year. I was a little disappointed that it was thicker.
Ok, a tiny bit thicker, but still thicker. Part of that is the fabric, they don’t offer the super thin ripstop nylon anymore. And part is feature creep. The new rubber card grips may be a good feature, but they are thicker than all of the fabric layers combined.
It’s still thin, but if they offered the “classic” version I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
@blaineg Too bad - I guess I’ll have to coddle my ~5 year old one. Now that I’m working from home, I don’t carry my wallet every day, so maybe my current one will last as long as I need it.

@lquerbach
So did she take your wallet and throw it in the wash? Or did you leave your wallet in your dirty clothes that she was nice enough to wash for you?
I’d bet it was the latter. Plenty of blame to go around here. Let’s not blame it all on your poor girlfriend.
@carlosps@whackattack
I think there’s room for my remorse as well. They’re really thick. I wish they could be removeable and I could take one of the cases out.
Oct 19 update: Been using one of the wallets since I got it and have been loving it…but the spring mechanism in one of the card slots just randomly broke today, and it looked like it broke rather easily.

Quick no
Neat idea. Too thick for me (that’s what I said,) but if works it’s a cool idea for people who don’t sit on it.
@zachhh remove the “leather” from the card holders. Problem solved.
@zachhh Wait, we’re talking about the wallet here, right?
@eVil please remove the leather skin or else it gets the hose again.
@ShotgunX yea. This is a Christian blog.
Omg
Sorry, I have a wallet made from inner tube rubber that is the best damn wallet I’ve ever owned.
@radi0j0hn I feel the need to know more about this. Does it exist online?
@radi0j0hn Care to share? I’ve been looking for a new wallet for years
@radi0j0hn does it make your hands smell like rubber after handling?
@lowlypeon @radi0j0hn @djslack Me too.
@radi0j0hn muy interesante. Explain?
@radi0j0hn I assume blowouts can be repaired with self-vulcanzing patches. That would just add to the hipster cool factor.
@radi0j0hn Inner tube wallet
Click on the crappy grey “inner tube wallet” link above. I don’t know how to change the color of the text. Or google it.
Here’s a link to another supplier, this one with a review:
@Trinityscrew links only appear gray to a user who has already clicked on it. to everyone else, they’re blue
@radi0j0hn OMG that site sells a bluetooth water bottle. meh needs to get on that right away.
https://www.uncommongoods.com/product/bluetooth-speaker-water-bottle
So what keeps the cards from just falling out if you turn it upside down?
@djslack FM
@ThunderChicken is that Fucking Magic?
@djslack A neodymium magnet?
@djslack my Securid wallet has some sort of felt on the inner sides to provide a bit of friction. Assuming this is similar.
@djslack Yup.
OH MY GOD THEY FED GLEN A WALLET. I GUESS!!!
@shahnm Also looks like we should all pitch in and buy Glen a Sonicare toothbrush the next time they come up for sale.
@shahnm @tweezak Yes, we should.
“Wallets are cool… but if only there was a way to make it sixteen times thicker. Wait, levers! Brilliant!”
@brennyn it’s got Dr. Loveless action! Levers everywhere!
/giphy Dr. Arliss Loveless
For those thinking Xmas gifts (or any other gifting event), stop thinking and go to bed hungry.
I want a wallet that can eject my credit card so fast, that it would decapitate a person.
“I’m sorry, sir, but we cannot accept expired coupons.”
schink, thud
“And I’m sorry, but I cannot accept expired cashiers.”
@ShotgunX
Does it hold ninja throwing stars as easily as credit cards?

@eVil make sure they give you credit for my sale.
@eVil So you’re saying this is a good deal?

This is so amazingly stupid that it wrapped around to awesome. I’m having trouble resisting this.
DIPLOMAT! RAT-A-TAT! FAT CAT! AWESOME!
Wallets are so last century, and thus why they are on sale here. The smartphone wallet is where it’s at!
@ticklescratch I was wondering how long it would take someone to post this
@ManBehindPlan @ticklescratch it was referenced earlier, just not in gif form. Now… When reading that did you pronounce it gif, or gif?
When I was 16, I got a similar wallet for my boyfriend as a gift. He said no thank you and gave it back.
I thought it was the coolest thing I saw. Oh well.
@ardycake When I was 16, I thought my dad was an idiot. The older I got, the smarter he got as well.
@ardycake My wife got me my Securid about 8 years ago. I thought it was a little weird at first, can’t imagine using anything else now. Hope you kept the wallet and got rid of the boyfriend!

@ardycake I would have taken the wallet, but given back the girlfriend.
@ardycake @mike808 when I was 16, I thought my dad was nowhere to be found. 20 years later, he’s still just as absent.
@ardycake @MegaHenzoid
What did your mom do to chase him away? That he’s not around might say more about your mom than it does about your dad.
The world’s thickest wallet, or the thinnest? Tough choice.

@blaineg Love my All-Ett. Thinest and most comfortable to carry wallet that I have found.

Reviews on Amazon. Not so good
https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Card-Wallet-Blocking-Automatic/dp/B07LFC6BD1/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
@jjlcle Fair, but some of them aren’t exactly helpful:
Q:How are cards inserted
A: I don’t know, I threw in the trash! DO NOT BUY IT………………
@jjlcle @MegaHenzoid I dunno, that seems like a pretty straightforward review.
“Special Lever” = broken in a month with your CC and ID inside
I use a phone case with a card holder. It even allows me to wirelessly charge my phone.

I had a Big Skinny for 8 years until my girlfriend washed it. Kept the girlfriend and bought a new wallet…
@lquerbach Is she still making wallet replacement payments?
@lquerbach
So did she take your wallet and throw it in the wash? Or did you leave your wallet in your dirty clothes that she was nice enough to wash for you?
I’d bet it was the latter. Plenty of blame to go around here. Let’s not blame it all on your poor girlfriend.
@Trinityscrew Of course it was the latter! That’s why I replaced the wallet…
@lquerbach @Trinityscrew
And now, she’s his rich girlfriend.

bought…, then cancelled…, I’m full up on crappy stuff
@carlosps I wish I did. Now I have +2pack of crappy stuff. At least I have somewhere to store what’s left of my dignity.
@carlosps @whackattack
I think there’s room for my remorse as well. They’re really thick. I wish they could be removeable and I could take one of the cases out.
For some reason my last crappy drone refuses to break or fly away…, What will I do?
Oct 19 update: Been using one of the wallets since I got it and have been loving it…but the spring mechanism in one of the card slots just randomly broke today, and it looked like it broke rather easily.
I only opened one of these, but couldn’t get it to cascade the cards. Anyone else have this problem?
@bruno187 No. Mine cascades them.
I don’t buy a lot of stuff on meh but I regret this one. These wallets suck.
