@uncleop Many companies private label the Tuya app and according to this Reddit thread Atomi is one of them. I’d bet this will work with Tuya which is rock solid.
@uncleop these can be OTA flashed to esphome or openbeken firmware using cloud cutter. They are then usable with home assistant/node red/habitat etc using mqtt.
@ybmuG I suspect that if you stuffed the remote into a 50 ton press and flattened it a bit, and never put the app on your phone, the light would just stay in whatever it’s default setting is.
@troy Can you give a rundown on the pros & cons of these lights in your opinion since you tried using them? Any connection/control issues with the app? Thanks in advance.
@Kerig3 no issues at all, and bigger than they appear in photos. I was worried about connection issues after reading some reports, but I didn’t have any. Just gotta keep the light switch on and let the app carry out your schedule!
@cengland0@werehatrack Replacing an existing porch light with this would be doable, maybe watching a youtube video or two is in order. Putting one in where no light fixture previously existed? Better hire a sconce boy or girl. (AKA an electrician)
Just got these mounted and yeah, pretty great. Nitpick: wish the schedule did sunrise/sunset. And they are not a standard 2-post-forward mount, so took a little re-doing from old lights. But look nice
@CraigDanger You can post from a mobile - on an iPhone, you turn it sideways first, then click on the icon that looks like the mountain with a moon above it, then follow their directions.
@CraigDanger They look GREAT!
I haven’t mounted mine yet, any advice you can give ahead of time? Did you use any YouTube videos to guide your installation that you can share?
Also how is the app, was it intuitive to use? Any tricks or tips you can suggest?

Scones are better.
@yakkoTDI They smell better, they taste better, and they don’t require any wiring.
Missing poll again.
@cengland0 You may need to order an artificial one from The Zon to make sure you get your daily dose.
@cengland0 Issue reported, dunno if it will get fixed tonight.
I want a product like this that doesn’t require a noname company’s proprietary app to set it up.

What happened to the C in Atomic?
@Hanky It dried up due to global warming.
@Hanky It started out as “Atomic Radiation” but the radiation borrowed the

Can these be made to be dumb?
@ybmuG They power on without the app, and the default color is warm white. I installed a sample and really like mine FWIW
@ybmuG I suspect that if you stuffed the remote into a 50 ton press and flattened it a bit, and never put the app on your phone, the light would just stay in whatever it’s default setting is.
@ybmuG To match wits with you? No, tlhat is beyond any craftsman.
@mcanavino does tlhat include spelling?

@troy Thank you!

@mediocrebot I see those wires dripping out all over the place. I love it, in an MST3K sort of way.
to outdoor lighting that points up to the sky. We already have so much light pollution in the night sky, we don’t need more.

@The_Tim
@The_Tim Or you could just remove the upward-pointing bulbs…
Of course, castles look better with them pointing both up and down. (Note: Pointing just up leaves darkness the evildoers can sneak through.)
@Barc777 Is that actually possible with these? They look like fully built-in LEDs, not removable bulbs.
/showme edible electric scones
@haydesigner Those scones have definitely gotten into the edibles.
/showme edible electric sconces
@mediocrebot What? No candy corn? Or any of the almost expired food meh has been selling? Oh wait. Some of that might not be edible.
The power source is not specified, but the logical assumption would be that these require 110V AC wiring.
@werehatrack it does say, “Power Source: Hardwired” leading me to believe you need a standard electrical box to wire and mount.
@cengland0 @werehatrack Replacing an existing porch light with this would be doable, maybe watching a youtube video or two is in order. Putting one in where no light fixture previously existed? Better hire a sconce boy or girl. (AKA an electrician)
Meh, you should really leave the punnery to us. Speaking of, when is the next punny poll question?
@hchavers
The Monday one wasn’t too punny.
Guessing you meant 4.25" diameter, not “circumfrence” [sic]
@richrauch yup
@richrauch @troy I was going to say this mistake should have been made next month on Pi say (3.14), but that would be irrational.
@pmarin @richrauch @troy
I think this conversation is going in circles now…

Hello Echo gen 1, please turn yourself on.

@iggy71 That’s exactly what I thought these were from a first glance at the picture
Are they compatible with the TUYA Smart Life APP?
@arosemena Reddit consensus seems to say yes, but there are some limitations with the Tuya app on color control that you don’t have with the Atomi app.
I thought at first the promo was for scones when I clicked. Imagine my disappointment.
Do they have to be wired in?
@xoxo1962 Yep, these are hardwired.

2 packs of 2 lights for 4 lights total or you’re getting 2 total lights?
@laurengx3 2 lights
I really want these for my evil underground lair next to the elevators.
I have to get an evil underground lair with elevators before getting these.

Do they come in white
Just got these mounted and yeah, pretty great. Nitpick: wish the schedule did sunrise/sunset. And they are not a standard 2-post-forward mount, so took a little re-doing from old lights. But look nice
@CraigDanger can’t post a pic in the forum from mobile apparently. But trust me, they look good

@Kyeh cool! Thanks! I see it now (on Android)
@CraigDanger I’m glad it works the same way on android.
Those lights look very classy!

Thanks for any help you can offer.
@CraigDanger @Kyeh this makes me excited. We ordered these a while back for the new shop. I’m excited to get them out up once all the electric is run!
@CraigDanger @sillyheathen Nice!
I wish they were motion sensor lights so they’d turn themselves off though; that’s what I have now (very old ones.)
