@IndifferentDude You need some superglue, a really long USB-C cable, and a really big power pack for that. And then it only works in fairly smooth, calm conditions. Be sure to tie a rope to the power pack so that you can pull it up when you’re done.
@craigthom@sligett Yes it charges my recent Dell small laptop; it complains about “slow charger” but after a few hrs it’s charged.
It will also charge a Nintendo Switch but won’t run the dock (that needs a special voltage and only Nintendo or compatible adapters can power the dock mode)
I bought one of these 2 years ago at a Costco. I think it was newly released at that time, and there was a $5 promo discount. I think it came to $20 for one, but came with a good quality USB-C to lightning cable.
If I hadn’t already been (over-)building my charger collection, I would go for this deal.
@rcapach When I had a problem with an Anker item I bought on meh and called Anker to trouble shoot (problem resolved by meh) they said they have one set of item numbers for online sales and one for in store sales. In my case meh had an in store item they were selling. I’d guess the motive is to prevent price matching… As a result the odds are good they are the same.
I’m seeing similar, or even better pricing on other decent-branded (Like RAVpower, Insignia, etc) chargers that are dual-ported total of 30w-out (20w-out USB C & 10w-out USB A), some with with folding plugs and are noted to be 110/220v capable, USB-IF certified, PD3.0 20w USB-C Charger
@Jdub The attraction of this one is that it is tiny. The 18 watt usb-c charger that I have right now is a lot bigger. I’m not ordering this Anker bc I don’t need more chargers, but if I were travelling a lot and trying to save half an ounce, I could see getting it.
@Jdub@phr Yep, tiny and incredibly lightweight also. It’s much easier and cheaper to make an old-tech powerbrick, so, yes, you can find more watts for a similar price, if that’s “watt” you’re looking for.
Meh, looks like the prongs don’t fold. And could Meh please post the weight whenever they sell anything like this? Just put it on a scale and weigh it and post the number, if it is not in the manufacturer specs. No idea why they advertise something as being small and light, and then hide this info.
@phr I have one of these & just weighed it. 30 grams / 1.0 or 1.1 ounces (my digital scale can’t decide). It is indeed tiny, and it works great. Correct, the prongs do not fold
Fourth pic – who has an AC outlet mounted that high up on a wall? Maybe that is where this guy’s TV was before it was stolen, and now he’s charging his phone to call the police?

@ThoR294 do the prongs fold?
@doubltap If you try really hard they will fold.
@doubltap @yakkoTDI But just once.
Will these hold my boat in place while I fish??

That dang 99 cents comes and goes like it’s randomly applied or something.
@cengland0 I suspect it’s a carefully crafted ploy to determine maximum irritation level.
@blaineg @cengland0 It’s working.
Best buy price link is dead
Does this one use gallium nitride?
@mexicantacos It uses Dilithium Crystals.
@mexicantacos No, it GaN’t.
@mcanavino @mexicantacos Wow! An actual chemistry joke!
@mcanavino @mexicantacos @phonepole They must have run out of unobtanium.
Don’t limit all that power to one device!
20 watts? Meh.
@craigthom I find it is enough for my laptop (née notebook) or my headphones, or speakers, or watch.
And damn cute. I don’t need more but will buy this as a stocking stuffer.

Plug ins do not fold. And only one port Makes it a nope.

Looks like a 2 pack on Amazon for a similar Anker charger (if not the same) is $18.99.

I’m not getting a charge out of this.
@werehatrack Paying in cash?
Did anyone notice that the link to sidedeal shows lots of Anker stuff but no usb-c to usb-c cables
is it safe to take two of these and connect one side of a male-to-male USB-C to each of them so I can save money on my electric bill?
Item pics remind me, I forgot to add sugar cubes to my grocery list.
