Closest I could find (product 24285922 at Staples) says the USB ports are 2.1A. Don’t know if that’s each or combined. It would be nice if this important detail was not omitted.
I had one for many years but lost it at the last SCaLE 22x conference in Pasadena. Sooooo, I’m glad meh found it for me at a reasonable price …

@phendrick Egg-zactly. I think it’s now obvious that the meh IRK bags are actually finely woven mesh antennas capable of monitoring our needs and wants and (sometimes) fulfilling them in ways we can’t imagine.
They may rotate but meh. Gimme power squids any day. Truly no worries about wall warts blocking anything and to an extent rotation is still not an issue. Never travel without one for all my odd hotel room outlet situations.
@caffeineguy I don’t get it. It’s rated for 120V at 15A. Are you saying you don’t believe the rating or that, as @Michaelforman commented, the UL marking is fake or maybe the brand is known for being poor quality?
@caffeineguy@ItalianScallion@Michaelforman Assuming non-defective construction, this would be an expected calculation based on standard 15A 120V outlet. As long as the metal plug elements and internal wiring are sufficient, it should be possible. Note that most high-current devices like heaters, portable A/C, appliances always say don’t use a cord or adapter of any kind – that’s a standard warning.
If this had a cord, then it’s likely the rating would be lower because most will use 16Ga cords which rate it lower.
I got a combo pack of one of these and one of the 5 outlet strips they have as the comparison from BJ’s wholesale club a while back. They’ve been great as they’ve moved around to different needs throughout my house. Just moved it this weekend to help handle my dual monitors and new standing desk.
Regarding the write-up, making a questionable meh purchase to mitigate the unexpected complications of your previous questionable meh purchase is a real old-lady-who-swallowed-the-fly situation.
The clamping voltage listed is 1200V, which seems quite high. Typically you’d see around 500V on most surge protectors, and the better ones are usually rated at 330V

Surge protectors are always good. A surge protecting strip cord is better though.
@AaronLeeJohnson I dunno - 306 joules isn’t a lot of surge suppression…
@slipperyp Good point.
The fake UL sticker almost lulls me into a false sense of security.
Why is it fake, @Michaelforman?

1800W? Anyone that plugs 1800W of loads into this thing would be crazy.

I’m an unbeliever, the surge has probably never happened, nor ever will.

These’ll be great in between the rolling black outs to keep “AI” datacenters operational.
@DrunkCat How would these keep data centers operational between blackouts? Do you think data centers just get plugged into a regular outlet?
@yakkoTDI lol okay mr. “incorrect fact”. bot some more
