@curtise While reading each day’s ad copy, I’ve wondered if the misspellings/incorrect word choices are intentionally inserted into each writeup for (my) entertainment purposes. Like a Where’s Mehwaldo.
Looks like USB-A ports. Fine for your old legacy low power stuff, but I would find a USB-C version with a decent power rating (like 60 or 100 watts per USB) vastly more useful.
@mrdancer 16AWG should handle 13A, or 1560W on 120v. Which is less than a standard 15A breakers (1800W), so caution should be used. Really, caution should be used on any power strip that doesn’t have its own fuse/breaker.
A 'roided out gaming PC with an unobtanium GPU and two ginormous monitors will slag this for sure. A space heater? Not something I’d risk.
If you have indoor Christmas decorations hooked to this, it’s no biggie. A laptop and a human sized monitor or two are fine.
I am debating this as a travel cable. I find most hotel outlets are so wore out that all the easy to reach ones are unreliable. And traveling at most I’m going to put 300W of load through it if I put the whole family’s devices on it to charge at once.
@mrdancer@MrJazz@Springbank This is exactly why I never buy any of the clever-looking but off-branded electrical stuff here: too many horror stories of cheap Shenzen-special electrical stuff melting down, catching fire, or worse. There have even been cases, I’m pretty sure, where UL certification was forged. Check out that exposé a few years back on knockoff cube-style USB chargers imitating the ones Apple used to provide for iPhones — it’s a perfect example of why that stuff happens.
I buy Anker chargers and charge cables (yeah, I know they’re Chinese too, but they have 15+ years of solid rep also), APC UPSen, and either APC or Tripp-Lite surge protectors. In those categories, everybody else can stuff it.
@blaineg@DonBirren@yakkoTDI I think that you got that wrong. The Mac OS was stolen by Bill Gate & passed off as WinDOZE, Apple had the 1st UPS ports, 1 Optical drive, 1st to remove it. & the rest of the WinBlows plays catch up.
You see I have been a Corp, Computer Repair tech on the Win/ Tel systems for over 20 years. Apple has Plug & Play, then for a Long time WinDoze had Plus & PRAY that it works.
BTW The Jobs/the Woz Bought the GUI from Xerox for penneys. the Upper Mgt thought who would want this. Even though that their R&D guys said Don’t sell!
@Mrmindless if you swirl it over your head you will get 360. With dedication, you could get 720 or more. There’s really no limit until you hit something in the room or someone comes in asking what the heck you are doing.
After I saw the reviews/photos on Amazon, I said NOPE not gonna get it. I always look at the 1/2 Star reviews… see why they did not like the item. If it is only a couple, well you just mark it off as a fleck or the just did not like it. But when you provide photos of it catching fire/ dark molten mess, that should serve as a warning .
I have one or two “ Squids” it is great for you power bricks. I should get a couple more!

Shocking deal!
Why so amped up?
@BunBun3 Wire you so concerned?
@yakkoTDI Today’s offering may provide an outlet for your anxiety.
Come in a pair, so you can plug them into each other and get perpetual electricity.
/showme a perpetual motion machine that actually works.
@OnionSoup Saw a youtube video title that was something like: “This perpetual motion machine is SO close to working!”
No, I didn’t watch it.
@OnionSoup
/image infinite power
@narfcake @OnionSoup Needs more internet.
I have one of these. Just get a normal power strip.
Apparently SideDeal Daily has got that covered today.
@haydesigner Meh. Just as bad, only 4 outlets.
“Relax! (Your grip on the ladder a little bit. Your only one wrung up.)”
It’s you’re, not your, and the correct word here is rung.
@curtise maybe they were buying the ladder.
@curtise Fight for the right!
Communication should be precise or it might be lacking.

Fixed! Thank you

@sfwineguy Stick around long enough and you’ll probably find them here. Once everyone has started shifting to a different connecter…
@sfwineguy @xobzoo USB-D ?
16-gauge? No thanks!
@mrdancer Too light. I can see these melting, or worse.
@mrdancer @Springbank Read the Amazon reviews - they DO!

@kensey @mrdancer @Springbank Or Furman.
“Are they Mac compatible: Until Apple invents a special outlet for Apple products only, yes”
Jesus Pete! Don’t give Apple any more stupid ideas! And hard-stop punctuation won’t kill you.
@DonBirren I am with you.
@DonBirren @mycya4me No one gives Apple stupid ideas. They have a whole team that creates them.
@DonBirren @mycya4me @yakkoTDI But mostly steal from everyone else, then claim they invented it.
@DonBirren @yakkoTDI Yes they had a Not so great series of MBPros between 2016 -2021 (M2)

Not a chance, way to few outlets to be worth the bother.
Another “360” branded product with nothing that swivels. Meh.
@Mrmindless if you swirl it over your head you will get 360. With dedication, you could get 720 or more. There’s really no limit until you hit something in the room or someone comes in asking what the heck you are doing.
It sold out! Wow!
