Love these, have bought many from costco. Only problem, those assholes at contigo keep changing the lid diameter and thread pitch from year to year, so I have a mess of almost identical, non compatible lids and vessels. It sucks. I won’t buy any more contigo because of it.
I liked the 16 oz one I get here so much I bought the 20 oz at Walmart over the summer. It was 22 dollars. This is a buy one get one free price. Also, I never though I would love anything more than Bubba but the fact that it auto seals and fits in a car cup holder are great selling points.
How come the contigo desk coffee cups have not appeared here. I wanted to steal one from the cafeteria but they do use the tops, so stealing them is a waste y’know. so why do you put them here for sale cuz I need a new desk cup with top so I don’t spill you no wot I’mma saying huh?

I bought Bubbas twice on two-for-tuesday deals. Problem with Bubbas is that the plastic rings crack easily. I received on with a cracked ring, which Bubba replaced. Recently another plastic ring cracked while I was screwing on the lid. Warranty claim is filed for the second broken one too. I am actually using a Bubba as we speak to drink some coffee.
Hopefully these Contigos don’t break as easily. There are some complaints on Amazon of leaking liquid through the autoseal buttons though, so I don’t know.
@xxWolverinexx I’ve had a couple of these (or very similar). Haven’t broken one yet, but the autoseal can indeed be a bit finicky. Operating it a few times seems to help everything “seat”. Have had intermittent trouble with leaks between body and lid, as well.
Does anyone know why the bodies are not top-rack dishwasher safe?
I have the 16oz version of these, and I put them in the dishwasher all the time. -Am I risking some sort of explosion or otherwise deadly event?
They still seem to look and function well despite my years of abusing them in the dishwasher, but maybe I have just been lucky so far?..
@zachdecker I think the 16oz isn’t “dishwasher safe,” either. I do put mine in there, though, and I’m almost positive that this warning is due to the possibility that the paint will scratch off. The label said something about stainless being fine to put on the top rack, but colorful ones should be hand-washed.
I owned the first version of this mug, and it was great … except the lid got really gunky inside and was impossible to clean entirely. This new version addresses that by allowing you to pull the entire mechanism out to clean, which is great. Sadly, the mechanism in my lid broke after two months. I’ve got a warranty claim in with Contigo, so we’ll see how that goes.
Mine was the 16oz, which will only hold about a medium Dunkin Donuts coffee. These are 20oz … tempted …
@jrstinkfish the lid-gunk is easy to clean by soaking in a detergent solution overnight, then spraying with hot water. If that fails, soak in gasoline and throw lit matches at it. It’ll be sterile, at least.
Despite reading many, many reviews on Amazon for this hot liquid travel container, I find it doesn’t keep anything hot for long. Maybe I’m using it wrong, but not a go.
I love this contigo and use it every single day. Is my coffee piping hot at the end of the day? No, but I wouldn’t expect it to be. Having said that, after 8 hours of sitting on my desk (gross, I know), it’s still “warm”. It NEVER leaks and It’s not so wide that I can’t hold it comfortably in my hand.
My husband and I love our contigos! My only complaint is I wish it held a little more liquid and was insulted a bit better, but all in all, a really good product!
I destroyed one of mine over the course of the last two and a half years. I stabbed the exposed rubber bits with my fingernails too many times.
I knocked the other one on to a concrete floor today, and the water spilled out. It wasn’t broken. The impact popped open the mechanism in the lid to the cleaning position. It is working just fine, but it did scare me.
So I ordered some replacements from another site for significantly more money.

You can use these mugs for self defense if you are ever mugged.
@ELUNO Since it’s 2-for-Tuesday you can use 1-for self defense while you use 1-for sipping your drink without spilling it.
