These are great. I got them when they were $19.99 for 12, which was better than dollar tree prices. They look better in person and the stay lit all night.
@ladyhawke001 ha – this is because we are shipping a mix of 2x 6-packs and 1x 12 packs. Some of you may only receive 1 user manual, so if you really want a 2nd one I’ll be happy to send you a PDF to print your own for backup
Got a set last time, agree they look way better at night, crappy during the day. And there’s no way these are 55 lumens, 5.5 maybe on a good day. You might get 55 lumens out of them if you set them on fire.
These are the only lights that I have bought that stayed on all night long. Just bought 2 more sets at sidedeal for $30.00. I put them along the fence in my back yard where I get animals crunch the leaves. Well, now I know: possums, a fox, and racoon.
@cprimrose@PooltoyWolf We have a ton of them in my neighborhood, but i usually only see them running across the rural highway that leads to my road when I’m driving at night. Unless it’s the same one every time.
Irregardless of what you think of these dinky lights, I think whomever wrote the clever copy for this offering, even though is it’s meh, deserves recognition and accolades.
To wit:
“In fact, after you’ve had these a while, you might start thinking, How did people experience plants after dark in the past? The answer to that question is pretty straightforward, actually; they read novels about plants. We’re talking about such great works of literature as:
The Ferning Of The Screw
The Adventures of Succulberry Finn
Jane Air Plant
The Goldenrod Compass
The Bluest Iris
Lily of the Valley of the Dolls
Catmint’s Cradle
Go Tell It On The Mountain Laurel
The Sunflower Also Rises
The Bleeding Heart is a Lonely Hunter
(Look, we think we’ve made it pretty clear that we don’t have much to say about these garden lights, so maybe forgive us for these terrible puns and just hit the buy button, okay?)”
Kudos, to whoever wrote this clever drivel hawking a rather worthless offer…day in, and day out. What a thankless job, that daily must drain one’s creativity well.
After all, I can buy crap most anywhere, but getting crap and a creative story just makes the crap all that much sweeter, though it is still crap.
A round of applause and another large pitcher of margaritas, I say!
Hear, hear, or is it Here, here?
Whatever. A job well done for some stinkin’ lights, to which I say, Meh!
I think you need to brush up on your grammar. Start with the word “irregardless.” Then, look up when to use a subjective “whoever” versus the objective “whomever.” Also, you might want to brush up on when to use quotes (e,g., see your last sentence). Take a look at your paragraph that starts with the word “kudos.” I see three unnecessary commas. You have some quotation marks missing from a couple paragraphs: I’ll let you guess where.
All in all, compared to a lot of comments on Meh.com, I’d give yours a “C” grade. Regardless, that’s not a bad grade considering…
@Jackinga@nigebirch@mattig88 well, irrespective of that, I’d have to agree that a “C” in grammar is not a bad thing these days (except the grades are adjusted up). If the grading were the same, this is better than 50% of the students when I was in school 40 years ago, and better than 90% of students now, who “don’t need to know because the device fixes it for us”
@mattig88 I’m sure it was made a word because of rampant use of the incorrect word just as “preventative” was made a word because so many people don’t know the correct word is “preventive.”
@Jackinga. Oh, yeah! These days, the devices really “FIX” things for us. Lol! I think that’s a big part of the problem people have with grammar. They depend on devices, most of which have no clue. My dictator randomly capitalizes words in the middle of sentences, words like “the.” LOL! It takes more time to correct all the errors then it does to one-finger type the text, both of which are too long. Oh, well!
Last time they were offered, I checked Amazon and got them for less and no shipping costs. Of course when you buy them they might be more depending on what deal they are offering. As for the brightness, yeah not 55 lumens, not even close. The bright light near the top of this photo is a 50 lumen flood light. I adjusted the gamma to closely represent what the human eye sees since my camera has low light sensitivity. These are great mood, accent, or path lights, but they won’t light up an area very well.
@miniskunk Agree, but in fairness that’s a flood light that appears to be pointed directly at the camera position, whereas the other distribute over a 360 degree ground illumination. But yeah not as bright. More than 5.5 though; less than 50.
@pmarin It is actually aimed at the fountain. If I took a pic from the other side, you would see it lights it up pretty well. The beauty shot photos for this product definitely oversells the brightness not to mention some of them appear quite outsized like they were just cut and pasted into the image.
I got these a few weeks ago during a Mehrathon. So far I like them!
The white plastic is a little flimsy when you’re assembling it, and maybe looks cheap up close - but from a distance you can’t tell, and at night the warm light is a nice bit of ambiance. They’re not terribly bright; they might do OK along a pathway (mine are set up more as decor).
We’ve had a few really strong storms the past few weeks and these have stayed put and are still working!
I got these cheaper at the Mehrathon as well. My expectations were the usual for Meh, expecting them to be crap, several that don’t work and that they would break easily.
Well I was very pleasantly surprised!
Very easy to assemble (be careful and gentle as they are plastic). I drove a big screwdriver in the ground so there wouldn’t be any pressure on the plastic stakes. The warm light is not nearly as bright as the cool white, which is brighter than other solar lights. They stay powered throughout most of the night, and look nice and well lit around the pool. I would definitely get them again at $20!
@irenegade We sometimes reduce price later on, but we also increase price based on a variety of factors such as our remaining supply, market comps, or after-the-fact realization that we lost money. Sometimes it pays to buy our first sale!
I just ran over three of my old ones while mowing the lawn just this afternoon. I chalk it up to the fact that it was hallucinogenically hot today again, and once more, I waited until the heat of the day to do yard work. While it was disappointing to lose my accent lighting in such an undignified and uneconomic way, at least they mulched satisfyingly well.
Suffice it to say that it was very convenient to see these come up for sale today.
I received mine, but it’s missing all of the spikes. It has only the sticks that go into the light. It shows them in the assembly diagram. But they’re not in the box. What’s up? Anyone else’s set arrive this way?

These would be great for my trunk.
@yakkoTDI Steamer? Tree? Elephant?
@sligett Jetta. Full of dead prostitutes.
The deer would eat them if I put them outside here.
These are great. I got them when they were $19.99 for 12, which was better than dollar tree prices. They look better in person and the stay lit all night.
@kjady I was just about to bring this up too!
@kjady Are they made of metal or cheap plastic eventually defined for the Pacific Garbage Patch?
@HALFEEL Plastic, as plastic can be.
For when you want your yard to look sorta neat for a few hours at night and stupid the rest of the day.
I bought them last time and I use them to gently light my pool. They’re nice so far.
Oh, I thought they were kinky lights. Pass.
@radi0j0hn
They are.
@radi0j0hn @yakkoTDI Pointy end first if you’re foolish, light end if you’re brave.
Why would anyone need 2 user guides; 1 seems too much.

Attractive pattern at night. Pretty fugly during the day.

@cprimrose Fox They’re exceedingly rare to see over here.
@cprimrose @PooltoyWolf We have a ton of them in my neighborhood, but i usually only see them running across the rural highway that leads to my road when I’m driving at night. Unless it’s the same one every time.
@cprimrose @ircon96 @PooltoyWolf these lights run across the highway at night? Might be worth the price for that trick alone!
@cprimrose @ginazmck @PooltoyWolf Hell, yeah, it’s a sight to behold! You have to make sure the stakes are REALLY solidly planted.
People, people, people…

You’re welcome!
Good luck!
@nigebirch regardless of your disdain for the word (I’m with you), irregardless is, in fact, a word and grammatically correct in the way it was used.
@Jackinga @nigebirch @mattig88 well, irrespective of that, I’d have to agree that a “C” in grammar is not a bad thing these days (except the grades are adjusted up). I wish I had a 20 dollar coupon
These ARE 55 lumens… Total.
@MrNews Looking at the battery capacity, yeah, couldn’t be much more than that or the battery wouldn’t be able to keep them lit for very long.
