Ok, now that you’ve purchased them, the answer is No, you cannot trade for an IRK. The good news is that the regret of buying 3 dozen bottles of artificial flavor and coloring which needs to be used within the next six months should be pretty much instantaneous.
I don’t really like the taste of Acai, but I do like having the opportunity to mispronounce it, make people’s eyes twitch, and see if they’ll correct me.
@Narwalt@PooltoyWolf I don’t recognize the model, but I see an open reel tape recorder. That’s a great piece of equipment, if it’s like the one I had back in the 70’s while in the Air Force (didn’t make much money then, but only had myself to spend it on.) I am not sure why I gave it up for such things as 8-track cartridges and cassettes – just sheer laziness I guess.
We had different opinions on how to pronounce the brand name. Same for Teak.
@Narwalt@phendrick Probably because the newer formats were seen as the future, and we had no way of knowing at the time that they’d age poorly. I have a couple R2R decks myself, one of which is in regular use (has an Akai transport in it).
@PooltoyWolf I’d still probably be occasionally using at least one of them if I still had them. I don’t recall at all what happened to the Akai – it’s just a vague memory from decades ago. I had a Roberts that was fairly good. My favorite (believe it or not) was an Allied that I bought from Radio Shack, not your typical RS appliance. It had good specs and advanced features like “sound on sound”, “sound with sound”, FOUR different tape speeds (7.5 x 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2), even a search function that would seek out a specified location based on the counter. I quit using it when the rubber drive belt broke and I could not order the factory one (RS had divorced from Allied by then and I had no idea who sourced it), and no substitutes I tried had the right amount of “stretchiness” to work.
Lost those two as the result of a house fire. Wouldn’t use it enough to justify buying a new R2R deck. I just carry my music in my pocket now, one way or another. I still probably have a couple hundred tapes somewhere in storage, including some live bands that let me tape them.
@EvilSmoo@yakkoTDI It’s heavily concentrated, each bottle isn’t a serving cause you aren’t supposed to use a whole bottle at once. The 18 servings are because each bottle makes 8 fl oz of drink 18 times, obviously it would be less if you use a larger cup or bottle. If you put a whole bottle of this into a single 8 fl oz cup, it would be so strong that it would be undrinkable.
I am a big fan of squirt flavoring because I have to take Miralax and will puke if I taste it, but the energy ones I don’t like. They’re kind of dangerous for me. I can’t handle too much at once after almost dying to caffeine poisoning at 19. (Yes that’s a thing. I was anorexic so it didn’t take a “lot.” Yes I was stupid. I had been screwed around with all night by an abusive ex who called every 45 minutes so I wasn’t thinking straight.)
@marc101 I mean, if you don’t have prime and you pay the $5.99 membership here, it’s still cheaper here (assuming you aren’t only buying that membership for this and nothing else). It would only be $18.87
And even if you don’t pay the membership, it would still be cheaper. $24.87 vs on Amazon without Prime, it would be $27.34. Not everyone wants to or can afford the $14.99/month or $139/year of Prime.
@BrandonGiesing@marc101 i bought these last time Meh offered them & i like them, so i checked Amazon last night when this popped up & the price was $21.40 but had a 15% off coupon, which made it $18.19. i recently let my Mehmbership lapse, so Amazon was cheaper this time.
@BrandonGiesing@marc101 Actually, you can still get free shipping by ordering $25 worth of anything that “ships from” Amazon (which is noted under each item’s listing) & selecting “free shipping” at checkout. They say it usually takes 5-8 days, which is reasonable for non-Prime.
@proverbs32 I checked mine from a previous order & it’s actually a “Best By” date, so you can use it well beyond that time. And it’s not something like chips that can go stale, so it’s well worth a shot if you like berry flavored beverages, which I do. I didn’t find this one super artificial tasting like some of these can be, YMMV of course. FYI, if you miss this deal, there’s a similar (slightly higher) price on Amazon right now & they have single ones available to sample if you’re not sure about the flavor.

So it’s kind of the same thing.
Bonus: Over 10x the cost = 10x the regret!
Got them last time, working through them, not bad!

Usually they don’t.
@Narwalt Take your pick.
@phendrick
“Ass eye. Am I saying it right?
Ass eye? Yes, ass eye. I am repeating you. Ass… Eye…”
@Narwalt @phendrick Heheheh

@phendrick My daily driver deck is a Roberts Rheem 1725W-III actually, the one with the Akai transport.
216 servings? I thought this was 12 servings.
@yakkoTDI 18x12=216
@EvilSmoo Each bottle should be a serving. They are tiny.

@BrandonGiesing @EvilSmoo @yakkoTDI
Mixed as directed, I find the flavor undrinkable regardless.
Can’t sleep? Conjure yourself up a double mai tai.
What’s in it? Rum, for rest; rum!
(Not that good, but IMO better than the forced one in the write-up.)
Tried this flavor a while back. Eeeewwww, NO.
Are there different flavors available? If there are, why doesn’t Meh offer them?
@glarue Rejects only come in certain favors.

This item is available on Amazon for $21.35, free shipping with prime. Shame on you Meh!

What kind of crystal did Walter White make?? That was blue, wasn’t it?? Wonder if it had caffeine…
Expiration date is in August 2022. Some of them will expire before I can use.
@proverbs32
All of them would expire before I got through the first one. This flavor is yuk in my opinion.
