@ruouttaurmind each pair originally had a tag on it (presumably the original brand, or the fake brand label) that had to be cut off the glasses. We’re talking 150k plus tags.
Mrs cengland0 doesn’t let me wear sunglasses because she wants to see my eyes when talking to me. Besides, I wear prescription glasses so would have to use clip-on if I did use sun glasses.
The future’s so bright, it looks just like the past two times. Got me twice, but this time, I have vowed to allow someone else to stock up this time. Err…the wife has said “no more”. Well, one of those two is the truth anyway!!
Yes, they are cheap, but they are awesome for those pool parties. So, buy, buy, buy.
@ShotgunX No sunglass will block the super-mighty fire of death that will rain upon you like one thousand angry wasps. Make no mistake, your waist will be broken and you will be a boiled pumpkin!
So I can either got to a dollar store and pick what junk sunglasses I want to have, or I can buy these for the same price and maybe get a few I could wear?
I swear Meh had better deals up to around a year ago.
Ya might want to mention that these will not protect your eyes for viewing the eclipse. Should be blindingly obvious, but then I am reminded that peanut butter jars have a peanut allergy warning printed on them.
I came in when only 15 were sold (and stunned to see some bought 4!) so I went to sign in and they doubled in sales. And I can only ask myself…WTFSUNSHINE!
@ruouttaurmind Yep, dames have a long memory and when we say we’re over it and all is forgiven- we’re not and it isn’t. @medz Great return from image! I keep watching and laughing.
when we say we’re over it and all is forgiven- we’re not and it isn’t.
Oh, I am aware.
What I really want to know: how can someone have vivid recollection of that one time when some rando cashier flirted with me 7 years before, but constantly forgets to release the parking brake before driving the car?
@ruouttaurmind lupchan is a splinter group of s4s. the splinters are composed of kexodous, plug.dj, kek irc, lupchan, and lupchan irc. (there are numerous radio transmissions, podcasts, ect.)
I hope this clarifies everything. Sadly, it might be too late for lupchan.
Even if you could watch the eclipse with them, you would have to wait for the next eclipse, as these would not make, you might get lucky and have them for the sunset that day but thats on the quick end of the delivery window 21-24.
First round I purchased 30 for kids (ages 7 to 17) to decorate in Arts & Crafts at camp. They went over really well. They went faster than the Dollar Tree glasses.
Next round I bought another 10 just to have for “lake glasses” (I swim in a lake) as well as mowing the lawn and other “I don’t want to have to give a shit about my sunglasses breaking/being lost” activities.
They ARE better quality than what you get at Dollar Tree. The plastic is heavier. They’re more comfortable. (Most fit my big head!) They weren’t bent out of shape.
@primrosewater When I got these last time, I got one pair that was bent out of shape, one pair that was broken, two that were cracked, and two others that were scratched. Meh refunded me for the bent, broken and cracked ones, so that was nice. But I think you got a better selection than I did.
Last time i figured if i got 3 or 4 good pairs, I’d be happy. I got exactly 2 men’s frames - the rest were women’s. I promptly ran over 1 pair with my car,leaving me with 1 pair of $15 cheap sunglasses. Not this time.
@Felyne It is always a surprise when the sun comes out in WA. Your only hope is to buy 40 pairs and spread them around. There might be a pair handy for the next burst of sunshine.
@Felyne Hmm I lived 3 miles from the state of WA - but on the “other” side of snowqualmie pass (I lived back then around 5 hours from Seattle). Never actually saw the top of that mountain (saw plenty of snow there in the summer there though) due to the weather, but “my” side of that, including the portion of WA on “my side” had plenty of sunshine. Maybe it is all “those” folks buying them and not the Seattle bunch.
I went back and forth on this, but if they actually are Maui Jim sunglasses, they’re polarized, and I know that I could definitely use a few pair for random car / beach bag / kid-related stuff. Plus, I just paid to re-up VMP, so there’s the need to justify…
Bought 20 pairs last time,kept one pair and gave the rest away to the people at work.I was very popular for about 5 minutes then things went back to normal.
I’m always bummed, no matter the product, that they’re sold out before I get the chance to see it. At least three times a week I’m up 24/7, so I go to the website at like 3am and all I get is what was for sale the day before. What am I doing wrong?
@troy thank you troy for looking into that glitch. I’m not especially interested in today’s offer, although I may bite. I could donate them to a shelter, not your typical donation, but everyone deserves UV protection. I was mostly stating that when I go to the website at 3am, it still has the day before’s offering and from what I’ve read, many mehmber’s are seeing/buying the current offer. I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong. If you can help me with that, I would definitely appreciate it! Ty.
@sligett I’m on the East Coast, but I make sure it’s after midnight Pacific time when I check. I said 3, but not on the dot 3am…maybe I should wait longer, but I know that I’ve done that too. I’m an occasional insomniac so I know I’ve checked at 4 or 5. If I’m up again tonight, I’ll try it out & if it’s not working for me, I’ll let you know. Thank you so much for your help!
@bloondie2 not an answer to why you are still seeing the previous day’s sale, but the change over is midnight your time, 9PM Pacific. So no need to wait until after 3AM.
@Ignorant hi, thank you! That’s good to know. The last 3 or 4 times I checked everything was all good on my end. I did notice that I had to re-login, but per usual, as soon as you complain about something, it doesn’t happen again. Thanks again for offering your assistance.
@sohmageek Yeah, what’s up with that? I didn’t want them but there’s something not quite right with the system. I see @troy says they’re getting the sale back up above but it shouldn’t have rolled over to sold out.
I had a pair I particularly liked from last time, but they broke when I got to Germany (no plans to return). I don’t suppose you’d ship a set internationally?
Lying in bed last night, I wished I hadn’t sold all of these at a yard sale. There is a lot of light pollution in our room from various chargers, digital displays, power indicators, etc… I could have popped the lenses out and taped them over the light sources to make them way dimmer and more tolerable.
Off the top of my head…
-Electric razor charger flashing in on-suite bathroom
-2 x USB hub chargers with lights for each port
-2 x digital display alarm clocks
-power strip power indicator
-TV standby light
-home audio control panel display
-a few portable power banks charging via the usb hubs
-oh…roku has a light on always too

Still with the cheap sunglasses? How many hundred thousands of these things did meh buy?
@ruouttaurmind perhaps they had plans for sunglasses world domination?
@Kidsandliz
@Kidsandliz
@ruouttaurmind each pair originally had a tag on it (presumably the original brand, or the fake brand label) that had to be cut off the glasses. We’re talking 150k plus tags.
Fool me once…
You’re not getting my money for these again, Meh. No dirty, cheap, and broken sunglasses coming to me this time.
Not even Fuku worthy
Mrs cengland0 doesn’t let me wear sunglasses because she wants to see my eyes when talking to me. Besides, I wear prescription glasses so would have to use clip-on if I did use sun glasses.
@cengland0 you could take the temple pieces off and hot-glue them on!
Could Irk be more cool?
Same price at the dollar store, with no requirement to buy 10.
@dtwsportsfan and not random.
Nothing worse than a Meh I can’t possibly use (I wear prescription glasses).
These are all Maui Jim sunglasses. Great deal. I believe they may have a few ray ban & oakley’s mixed in but hey, not too bad
I haven’t yet managed to lose or break all of the ones I got in a previous sales round, though I am trying.
I’ll probably get some more next time. (There will be a next time still, right?)
I surprised there were no disclaimers that these are NOT for viewing the eclipse. (Probably not very good for driving to the eclipse, either.)
@phendrick I see there’s no limit at 3 this time; really trying to get rid of all of them now, hunh?
Ooh, ooh, ooh! I’ll take none please!
OMG!
/giphy They’re back!
How well would these protect against the flash from a nuclear explosion?
I need this answer somewhat urgently.
@ShotgunX Live in Guam?
@ShotgunX Don’t worry.
Once the shockwave gets to you, the flash won’t be noticeable.
@ShotgunX - You’re not supposed to look at it.
Won’t you be under your desk anyway?
@ShotgunX No sunglass will block the super-mighty fire of death that will rain upon you like one thousand angry wasps. Make no mistake, your waist will be broken and you will be a boiled pumpkin!
@ShotgunX You might do better with suntan lotion. Something in the neighborhood of SPF 50000000.
@KDemo I heard the new guidelines call for you to put your head between your legs so you can kiss your ass goodbye.
@ShotgunX They’ll be fine against the fire. It’s the fury that you have to worry about.
@ShotgunX just find a refrigerator. Worked for Indiana Jones
The return of random sunglasses.
Could we also see the return of random comic books?
So I can either got to a dollar store and pick what junk sunglasses I want to have, or I can buy these for the same price and maybe get a few I could wear?
I swear Meh had better deals up to around a year ago.
Got them last time, lost the first two pair within a week. Gave 6 pair to friends and family. (Free sunglasses? Sure!)
Or just stay inside and entirely avoid the cursed fireball’s rays of death and blindness.
The Orb, it burns.
Ya might want to mention that these will not protect your eyes for viewing the eclipse. Should be blindingly obvious, but then I am reminded that peanut butter jars have a peanut allergy warning printed on them.
@mehcuda67 Can we view the eclipse through a peanut butter jar?
@mehcuda67 heheheh. Blindingly unobvious, perhaps.
@norman8
How many of these do I need to wear at once to stare directly at the eclipse?
@Oneroundrobb Zero.
@Oneroundrobb If you wear these, your stare is not really direct.
No polarize no buy.
@DrunkCat That’s a polarizing point of view.
Has anyone ever sold polarized for a buck? Heck, the ones at Costco (which I wear and like a lot) cost $30…
/giphy sexy polarized
@DrunkCat same. Won’t buy non-polarized sunglasses ever again. Not even cheap ones.
Bought 30 of these last time with zero regrets.
@lordbowen Bought 20 of these last time with total regret.
@sammydog01
@lordbowen Yep, that’s how I felt when I opened the box.
No need for eclipse disclaimers y’all. It’s not like they’d arrive before the eclipse anyway.
@PurplePawprints Those were actually warnings for the Meh staffers
I came in when only 15 were sold (and stunned to see some bought 4!) so I went to sign in and they doubled in sales. And I can only ask myself…WTFSUNSHINE!
Just think of it as 20 eyeglass screws for $.50 each.
Spare temples and nose pads too.
/image junk animated gif
@medz See, this is the problem with dames. Screw 'em over just once and they punch you in the junk.
@ruouttaurmind Yep, dames have a long memory and when we say we’re over it and all is forgiven- we’re not and it isn’t. @medz Great return from image! I keep watching and laughing.
@WTFsunshine
Oh, I am aware.
What I really want to know: how can someone have vivid recollection of that one time when some rando cashier flirted with me 7 years before, but constantly forgets to release the parking brake before driving the car?
@ruouttaurmind We admit nothing and forget nothing. I think that’s how bitches and dicks came about. Could be wrong about that
/buy
@Dizavid The card was declined.
@mediocrebot WTF? There’s no way I spent that much that fast this month…
@mediocrebot
Oh, that’s absolutely fucking hysterical. $10?
don’t even think about it. Just walk away.
Bought these last time for an older lady who has very light sensitive eyes after surgery. Now she has light, dark and every shade between.
wait wat i do? need additional sleeps.
These are NOT eclipse sunglasses!!!
All this talk of eclipse and no one is going to post it…
[1]:
That was for the August 7th lunar eclipse and for the upcoming solar eclipse on August 21st…

is it too late to save lupchan?
@wew My ignorance abounds. What is a lupchan, and why does it need saving?
@ruouttaurmind lupchan is a splinter group of s4s. the splinters are composed of kexodous, plug.dj, kek irc, lupchan, and lupchan irc. (there are numerous radio transmissions, podcasts, ect.)
I hope this clarifies everything. Sadly, it might be too late for lupchan.
So glad I got 10 pairs of womens sunglasses that no woman would be caught dead wearing last time. Play things for the kids now.
Even if you could watch the eclipse with them, you would have to wait for the next eclipse, as these would not make, you might get lucky and have them for the sunset that day but thats on the quick end of the delivery window 21-24.

Top-of-the-line? Absolutely not. Good-enough-to-shove-in-a-bag-without-a-case-so-there’s-an-extra-to-prevent-you-from-getting-a-migraine-if-something-happens-to-the-original-pair? YES.
Three were also given away to people who needed them. Made their days. Worth it.
@primrosewater When I got these last time, I got one pair that was bent out of shape, one pair that was broken, two that were cracked, and two others that were scratched. Meh refunded me for the bent, broken and cracked ones, so that was nice. But I think you got a better selection than I did.
@gt0163c That really sucks. I definitely had much better luck with these.
I bought these last time. One pair of metal glasses assassinated the rest of the bunch. I provided visual evidence and received a partial refund.
I’ve bought these. Twice. And now I’m waiting for the requiring of the insane neoprene sleeve deal.
My grandkids are visiting this afternoon. Will the sunglasses arrive by then?
@sligett Doesn’t matter, they would refuse to wear these.
Last time i figured if i got 3 or 4 good pairs, I’d be happy. I got exactly 2 men’s frames - the rest were women’s. I promptly ran over 1 pair with my car,leaving me with 1 pair of $15 cheap sunglasses. Not this time.
Odd the dampest state, WA, bought the most sunglasses up to this point
@Felyne They probably have the most sensitive eyes to that “sun” stuff. For many, it’s a once in a year phenomena.
@Felyne It is always a surprise when the sun comes out in WA. Your only hope is to buy 40 pairs and spread them around. There might be a pair handy for the next burst of sunshine.

@accumulator It worked! Your order number is: reflective-flat-mulberry
/image reflective flat mulberry
@accumulator Well you’re gonna be severely disappointed when you find out they’re Owie Tim.
Bought them last time, worth about a quarter
@craigellis For all ten?
@therealjrn TWSS.
Bought 20 pairs last time,kept one pair and gave the rest away to the people at work.I was very popular for about 5 minutes then things went back to normal.
No VMP love for the cheap sunglasses?

@bloondie2 Standby… we have more! We’re working on getting the sale back up.
@bloondie2 Sale is back live!
@troy thank you troy for looking into that glitch. I’m not especially interested in today’s offer, although I may bite. I could donate them to a shelter, not your typical donation, but everyone deserves UV protection. @sligett I’m on the East Coast, but I make sure it’s after midnight Pacific time when I check. I said 3, but not on the dot 3am…maybe I should wait longer, but I know that I’ve done that too. @cinoclav @sohmageek Yup, system error… but finally available again!
First time I’ve been this happy that a product sold out. Maybe there won’t be any more of these.
@Pantheist Haha… sure there’s no more
@troy
/giphy sob
tax & shipping kills the deal.
@bgammill So, you don’t want the $10 bill I’ll sell you for $5, if I have to charge you tax and $5 shipping?
You’d be able to tell your friends about the great deal you got!
(Sorry, no warranty.)
I had a pair I particularly liked from last time, but they broke when I got to Germany (no plans to return). I don’t suppose you’d ship a set internationally?
Deposited money. This time for sure.
/buy
@Dizavid The card was declined.
@mediocrebot THE FUCK?! I deposited money today!
Never mind! Wrong card!
/image miniature-childish-twist
@Dizavid How appropriate!
Bingo,this time I received two pairs that I can use ! Giving the other 8 away.
Ten out of ten for me, all adult glasses. We can use all of them. Now if I can just remember where I store them. Thanks, meh!
I was 6 out of 10. The rest went to my daughter. We’re both happy!
Lying in bed last night, I wished I hadn’t sold all of these at a yard sale. @cinoclav That’s an amazing idea, as @sammydog01 said a niche product but Imma put it on my wish list.
