10-3-17 Gothic Homemaking
14I know not every topic I post will be to everyone’s liking, but bear with me while I let you peek into my brain.
I’m not a goth, but I have an appreciation for many things goth. I came across a whole web series of a goth redoing his tiny New York apartment. Seeing as I pretty much decorate my house like it’s Halloween all year long, (so many skulls) this resonated well with me.
Episode 1. A lot of explaining how he got inspiration to redo his apartment. Not a whole lot of actual remodeling… A bunch of Goths paint towards the end if you want to watch how not to paint. @mfladd they even have a lady in boots and fishnets, and they kinda show her butt. So, you’re welcome.
Episode 2. Ceiling tiles, flooring, and lighting.
There’s several episodes broken down into two seasons. I tried to link the playlist, but that didn’t work.
If you check the description, he goes over what will actually be in the episode.
And he also does music:
Aurelio Voltaire - Riding A Black Unicorn
Aurelio Voltaire - Brains
From the Adventures of Billy and Mandy
Aurelio Voltaire - When You’re Evil

I pressed play on the 3rd video while the media volume on my phone was at highest level.
Gah!!!
@mflassy oops!
@RiotDemon
@mflassy
Pffft.
@gumtreertmug
Not sure if that was for the image or for what happened…
@mflassy Go see metal live. It’s meant for you to feel it.

Should she be smiling?
Awwwe…you know me so well. Thanks, GoaT.
@mfladd
Who is this again?
Have no luck right-clicking to open in a mobile browser.
She’s found her calling.
@f00l
@f00l Taylor Momsen. She is a hot mess.
@f00l She was Cindy Lou in How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Now she’s all growed up, as they say.
He’s got a fairly engaging attitude and personality. Tho, spiritually, he seems far more Vegas it LA than NYC.
He’s got a good-looking crew of goth friends or friend-performer-actors.
The 1st vid is a bit slow in spots but very nicely made.
I think he should be hosting a goth or off-beat game show or culture show. He seems natural at playing the emcee.
The quoted rents/sqft seem about right.
@f00l He is just campy and self-deprecating enough to really belong here at meh. I guess you could say he is goth mehtal.
@2many2no
Can’t you just see him doing a camp “goth” talk and culture show?
Where to start…
Japanese Metal
/youtube Sigh - The Transfiguration Fear
@RiotDemon This is going to be fun.
@RiotDemon Voltaire assumed you were a millennial?!? Lol. (Yes, I read through some of the comments.)
@msklzannie depending on what chart you read, I could be a millennial on the high end of the chart. (30s)
I actually felt bad about writing that comment because I did really enjoy the show. I just wished they didn’t have it so scripted.
Ok. I tried. I got 4:42 into the first of those before I died from boredom and decided to see what new shows had downloaded (I use an RSS filter to download the first two episodes of everything that comes along).
Maybe if the fishnet chick had come along earlier… ?
@baqui63 at least you tried.
This is hilarious. Seeing Aurelio Voltaire being discussed like he’s some new novelty. hehehe. He’s been around and very popular in the goth subculture all around the world for many years. He used to play the club where I worked every time he went on tour. He’s not only a brilliant musician, comic artist and film maker, but he’s a really sweet guy. He once took the time to draw an awesome picture for my stepson, who was 8 at the time, because I told him about how much the kid liked his music when we played it at home.
@Pony I didn’t learn about him until just over a year ago. I’m way out of the loop.
@Pony he does seem like a nice guy that would be fun to hang out with.
