Thank you for picking up things. I didn’t need it big lots for me. These are just about perfect size for a MacBook Air or iPad, but honestly, you can get such nicer looking bags from AliExpress that are just as well built, but a lot more available aesthetics.
@ncqueerws AliExpress? I’d stay far away from that sketchy Chinese site as much as possible.
Plus, this is Case Logic; a known and trusted brand for decades.
Besides, how fancy do you want your MacBook Air bag to be, without being too conspicuous.
@ncqueerws@pixelated My experience with CaseLogic has left me unenthusiastic. Yes, their products generally work well enough, but durability is not a reliable feature. I stopped buying that brand at least a decade ago because of how fasteners just didn’t last on them. If that has changed, that would be good, but looking at the design of this unit, I see plastic snaps with no swivel hooked to a web loop on each end of the case. It doesn’t look like something that’s going to hold up for years and years the way anything by Targus will. On the other hand, for $14, as a case to use for something that you don’t need to carry around very often, they’re probably perfectly good. And I do in fact have several laptops that I only carry infrequently. But I already have cases for them. Plus a couple of spares. Oh well.
Almost. The fabric loops instead of metal D-rings where the shoulder strap attaches are where I pass. Others may not care, and the price for two is very tempting.
@Jonas4321 If I didn’t already have cases for the two small laptops that I use as point of sale cash register systems, these would be perfect. Those machines are not daily carry items for me, they only travel when I’m staffing for a show. And I do a lot less of that now than I used to. But I agree that the loops and snaps don’t impress me as being a durable arrangement.
@chienfou@somf69 Yes, I’ve been happy with my Case Logic shoulder tablet bag I’ve been using for years. It’s looking a bit, um, heavily used by now, but material and construction have held up fine through near-daily use.
@djslack@medz@phendrick I DEMAND THREE DOLLARS BACK. Just bought a crappy fire tablet for travel and needed a crappy case to put it in. Gotta figure out what to do with the second one now.
@omally If this were for regular sized laptops I would be all over it. I need at least two laptop bags. I downsized my home office and I don’t have room for servers anymore. My test “servers” are now laptops, and I have them all in one backpack.
@omally I asked because the thing I realized here is that the laptop dimensions above:
13.5" x 1.2" x 9.6"
would seem to fit the 15.3" Macbook Air listed dimensions:
13.4" x 0.45" x 9.35"
My USPS consistently folds thinner books and the occasional LP to cram into my mailbox. Even on days when they also bring packages to my doorstep. Thankfully they have not attempted with a laptop.
@hate2wait@ojohn after seeing a similar photo several years ago, I made a point of putting two pices of 2x2 in there along the long edges, shrink wrapped to the bubblewrap-encased laptop. I still insure it as well.
@hate2wait I received a book that was soaking wet and it came with a letter stating they were sorry and would try better. Seriously. I did finally get a replacement from the publisher, but not until I through a fit in a Facebook ad for their product.
@phelmurh We’ve got ‘how many orders’ but, yeah, the pie chart that splits up the attributes seems to not work when the different choices cost different amounts. You’re right that it is an interesting day for that data though.
I may see if I can put together an email to share it later… Thanks for the idea.
@lljk I do NOT want to see cumulative stats on what I’ve spent here over ten years. Though the email would be interesting I request a spoiler button to hide my numbers until I’m sure I want to see them
Those forum numbers, too… In year one the average user added almost 4 topics. I wonder if that includes only active contributors or if it included users who never touch the forums, meaning those that were active were REALLY active. Feels like those numbers would be way different now, too.
@lljk Ah, I loved that email. I don’t know that we’re set up to do that per user without a ton of recoding from the years of changes, but it might be interesting to see what that looked like for all of Meh.
Like if we just…opened the books and sent that out to everyone. Or maybe just members.
I would have been all over that deal…except for the 14.1 size limit. I use a full-size MacBook Pro, but if I used a 14" Air I would have pulled the trigger. But probably only for one.
Dang. Apparently the last time opened Meh on mobile and not on PC, this is what was for sale that day. This is the exact item I came here hoping to find, and I was so excited, until I saw when I saw the date that this was actually up for sale. Hopefully there’s a few kicking around left that go up for sale in a mehrathon soon.

@ncqueerws welcome to your first post! What sort of esthetics are you expecting in a given bag?

First!
And wow - this is the most “meh” thing I have ever seen on this site….
@wootthereitis not first, although maybe the first in English.
Almost. The fabric loops instead of metal D-rings where the shoulder strap attaches are where I pass. Others may not care, and the price for two is very tempting.

If this only said TARGUS on the label…
@somf69 Shirley you can locate a marker pen.
@somf69
I have generally been pretty happy with the Case logic stuff I’ve had in the past
@chienfou @somf69 Yes, I’ve been happy with my Case Logic shoulder tablet bag I’ve been using for years. It’s looking a bit, um, heavily used by now, but material and construction have held up fine through near-daily use.
@phendrick @somf69
/giphy don’t call me Shirley
Something about today’s offering took me back in time to 2015…
@Euniceandrich I know, when I saw the title I immediately wanted to come to the forum and shout “BATH!”
When I saw the actual page, I thought, oh, it’s not really the same at all. But I had that memory there for a second. Those were the times…
BOGOSPO. (Sounds jivin’).)
Buy One, Get One Sixty Percent Off.
@phendrick according to the blurb in the email it was once BOGONPO. Someone must have reeled in the crazy
@djslack @phendrick I came to complain about the email. Click bait!
@djslack @medz @phendrick I DEMAND THREE DOLLARS BACK. Just bought a crappy fire tablet for travel and needed a crappy case to put it in. Gotta figure out what to do with the second one now.
@medz @phendrick @sammydog01 for those doing conversions to Canadian, that would be sixty Nickelbacks.
I don’t know if the world can handle that.
@djslack But how much is it in Canadian Tire Dollars?
I like them, but I want them with green eggs and ham.
/giphy green eggs and ham
Uh…that is NOT a “padded” shoulder strap. Meh. Pass. But I was tempted too for a sec.
/giphy nice try
@robpete OMG. Now that is funny!
Welp. Considering I order about 50 of these per summer, today worked out well.
Slim pickings at meh today
Hmmm… might be ordering 20 of these today. Working K-12 IT is fun.
/giphy crucial redundant leek
instead of two bags that hold one small laptop each, you should sell one bag that’s big enough to hold a normal laptop.
@omally maybe tomorrow they will sell a laptop saw to make your one giant laptop into two more compact pieces. Better order two bags to be ready!
@omally Just curious, how wide is your laptop?
@dave it’s 15.something inches. i have to use a magnum backpack for my monster laptop.
@omally If this were for regular sized laptops I would be all over it. I need at least two laptop bags. I downsized my home office and I don’t have room for servers anymore. My test “servers” are now laptops, and I have them all in one backpack.

would seem to fit the 15.3" Macbook Air listed dimensions:
13.4" x 0.45" x 9.35"
(though to be clear, I have not tested this out)
Maybe my 15.6" laptop will fit after the Postal Service had their way with it…
@hate2wait That’s terrible. What happened after that? Did the Postal Service reimburse you fully?
@hate2wait oof! That’s terrible!
My USPS consistently folds thinner books and the occasional LP to cram into my mailbox. Even on days when they also bring packages to my doorstep. Thankfully they have not attempted with a laptop.
@ojohn not yet. I insured it for $500 and they sent a check for $39.39. Waiting on my appeal now…
@hate2wait @ojohn after seeing a similar photo several years ago, I made a point of putting two pices of 2x2 in there along the long edges, shrink wrapped to the bubblewrap-encased laptop. I still insure it as well.

The usual “How Many” sold chart showing the number of items purchased is mysteriously missing today. Might not be susceptible to a simple pie chart.
@phelmurh We’ve got ‘how many orders’ but, yeah, the pie chart that splits up the attributes seems to not work when the different choices cost different amounts. You’re right that it is an interesting day for that data though.
I may see if I can put together an email to share it later… Thanks for the idea.
@dave Nice work ponying up the data.
@dave If you’re feeling like messing around with stats, I’d love to see a rerun of this infographic that got emailed out for Meh’s birthday in 2015.

@djslack I’m think this was “excluding people with zeros in these stats”
@djslack @lljk I worry that once I unlock my forum numbers, I can’t relock them
@djslack @lljk The one year stats made me rethink all purchases for a few months. A cumulative one might make me cut up my credit card.
If only there were an options for 4 for $16! I totally would have jumped at that! I don’t even have a laptop anymore!
I saved $14 by buying 0
@jwnelson You can come back tomorrow and save even more!
I’m going to use the second one to store all my IRK bags in my car…Not sure what I’ll use the first one for TBH.
emotional-bogus-tree
the nicest thing I can says is these will adequately hold a 6 pack of cans stacked or 4 bottles of beer.
@alacrity how well did it keep the bottles cool?
@pakopako not terrible- about 2 hours, but I used a flat chill pack, which lasted longer than the beer did.
Hey @dave? I would of rathered had the choice of one for $10 or two for $11 like the email header said.
I would buy these in a NY minute if I had a small laptop (or two).
@kdemo For two laps?

@Kyeh Thank you! Snagged one.
@Tiamat114 Great!
