And we have the constitutional right to have as many bare arms as we need. For hugging, because that is important, except in the Covid years where we all needed it and many couldn’t get it.
I had 3 one day in a rows last month after hitting nearly 90 in a row. Oh well. My grand total is 6712 and the most I have had in a row was 408 (so not even remotely close to the record holders who then missed a day) so obviously I strike out frequently.
I just missed yesterday’s (by about 7 minutes), so I’m back to “1 day in a row, with a longest streak of 155 days in a row.”
I logically don’t care about the pointless stat, but it still hurts to mess it up. (It doesn’t hurt as much as some other things, but it’s greater than zero.)
@callow@xobzoo Hate to say I just feel defeated about life in general, but the fact that it’s a game you cannot win makes it better, in a way. Psychoanalysis pending I’m sure.
(seriously, I’m OK. Please don’t send the therapy team. Just mourning the loss of my Goat.)
I’m currently on my longest-ever streak at an unimpressive 267 and a total count of 1767. The fact of the 1500 offset is what has kept me carefully clicking. If I can maintain it through the middle of January with all of the distractions I’ll have, maybe I can break 500.
@PlutoIsAPlanet There have been occasional discussions, and we recently Goated someone whose streak was unbroken from essentially Day One of the site. But that thread was refreshingly free of actual bragging, though there was plenty of shared remorse over clicks missed both recently and in the past. Streak breakage is clearly something that we all understand as a subject of personal frustration and commiseration, not shame in any respect. It Just Happens. Pride in a long and/or continuing streak is very much personal, and not cause to lord over the plebes except facetiously. It really does seem to be all in fun, which is one of the things that bolsters the camaraderie here. It may help that a lot of us are fossils, and tired of all the infighting that we had to endure during working careers and in previous sophomoric social venues. Meh really is more of a community. Even our ceremonial Scapegoat position is half honor and half in jest, and the holders’ responses have varied from milking it for laughs to genuine compassion to absolute silence. It is what it is, and we embrace it and move on to the next month. The point of the Goat thread is to provide a safe place for Announcements of both the celebratory and the rueful type, not to seriously berate the nominal target.)
I think what is entertaining was that, if I recall correctly, the original purpose of the meh click face was to “rate” the daily product. Of course in true meh-rician style we hijacked it for our own purpose.
/showme an Irk hugging a blaineg
So, I’m a baby IRK?
Did it get the number of fingers right?
@blaineg Did it get the number of arms right?
@blaineg @mehcuda67 To be fair, do we know the right number of either, in this case?
@blaineg @mehcuda67 @PooltoyWolf Arms are for hugging, and more arms means more hugging.

@xobzoo I know exactly why I mess up but still do it. Clicking through the product pictures instead of the Meh button first makes me miss.

/showme a goat which has just eaten an entire therapy team, and is now feeling a bit sick
/showme a sad goat and his therapy clicky face
@pmarin Should you desire an actual goat as a substitute for the lost icon, I’m certain this can be arranged. (But cats would be easier.)

Is there a running thread for those with the longest streaks? I figured by now someone would have a program figured out that would do it automehicly.

I think I found it. Well, at least I found disappointment threads of missing clicks. Close enough. Meh.
Deliberately doing onesies here.
/youtube one is the loneliest number
@f00l
After all, counting to one is my special talent.
/youtube take it to the limit one more time

I get this. I gave up caring a long time ago, but when I miss it…well…dang it!
