Adam stammers, “What I mean is, can you be scary?”
“Oh, oh, you’re askin’ me if I can be scary,” Beetlejuice replies with a sardonic enthusiasm. He turns away, takes a few steps back, and faces the couple again. He asks with a flourish, “What do you think of this?”
In an instant, his face splits open, transforming into a horrible periwinkle felt abomination with enormous, pointed ears and a wide, bucktoothed mouth. “Hello and welcome to Ask Irk!”
Barbara and Adam shriek.
And just like that, Beetlejuice returns to normal. “Ya like it?”
Barbara, still shaken, manages, “Will you excuse us please.”
