“This is American flight 812 requesting-“ the pilot started before a sudden strange noise overwhelmed the cockpit and some force shook the plane.
“Burbank tower to American flight 812, over. Burbank tower to American flight 812, over,” the radio continued as the two pilots regained their bearings.
“Holy mackerel,” said the copilot.
The operator became more concerned. “Burbank tower to American flight 812, over. Are you in trouble?”
On cue, Irk the steward poked his head through the cheap plastic curtains at the back of the cockpit. “Trouble?”
“Take a look for yourself,” replied the copilot unconvincingly.
Outside the window, on a matte background, a silver flying saucer swung lightly on a barely visible string before moving out of frame.
As the pilots watched in bewilderment, Irk commented, “Geez, even I’m more believable than that.”
