The Whodunnit Gang and Jack the Pumpkin Man: a Meh-rathon
Uncle Victor shook his head and sighed. Then, fetching a pen, he signed Anton’s time sheet.
“I do say,” he muttered under his breath as he wrote his name, “there are times when the stress gets so much that I wish it would work.”
“What do you mean?” Greg said.
“Oh, nothing,” Uncle Victor said, as he watched Anton leave. “It’s just that, well, with all the local tensions, if Jack did succeed in spooking some into selling their land to the Institute, it would almost be welcome at this point. Just to avoid the constant fighting with the neighbors.”
