Two-Packs of Horror: An April Fools’ Meh-rathon

Josh’s pitch

April Fools’ Day pranks reach a whole other level when you’re at a wizard college. Jakob turned everyone in the dorm into the retail item that best represents who they are as a person. It’ll wear off in an hour, but he’d get some tidying done in the meantime.

“Huh. I don’t remember buying these lame beer glasses.”

Jonathan screams internally as he hurdles towards the trash compactor trapped in his glassy form in… April Fools!

Sean’s pitch

The copywriter for a deal site is stranded at the airport on April Fools’ Day. The friend who promised to give him a ride isn’t answering, and there’s something wrong with his Uber account that he can’t seem to fix.

Luckily, a helpful stranger offers to give him a ride. “We’ll just have to stop at my house on the way,” she says.

In the car, they talk. He tells her what he does for a living, and she says she’s never heard of the site he works for. As they drive along, the copywriter wonders: Is this the right way? It feels like they’re going in the wrong direction, but who knows.

Finally, they reach her house. She invites him in for a moment while she grabs something. “Mind if I have a glass of water?” the copywriter asks. She says sure and tells him where to find a glass.

And he finds one, alright. He finds nearly twenty, actually. All identical, all printed with his company’s logo.

“I thought you said—” he begins to say, but it’s too late. She’s already locked the door.

Is it Misery? No, it’s… April Fools!

We can all agree, April Fools’ Day is awful on the internet. So we decided, why not make April Fools’ Day more like Halloween? It’s simple. All day long, we’ve got two-packs of products and two pitches for April-Fools’-Day-themed horror movies based on said products. So stick around for great deals and, frankly, terrible movie ideas.

Meh-rathon

What’s a Meh-rathon?

Normally, Meh is all about one deal per day—simple. But sometimes, we throw that out the window. A Meh-rathon is an all-day gauntlet of nonstop deals. One after another, untill we run out of stuff (or patience). It's chaotic. It's fun. It's a terrible way to shop responsibly. You've been warned.
