“Impossible,” Uncle Vincent said. “I would’ve seen discrepancies in the budget.”
“Not if, with a little clever bookkeeping, he hid the expense somewhere else,” Val countered.
“Like, right here, Professor Uncle Vincent,” Bushy said, holding up a bag of store-brand potato chips that apparently he just happened to have.
“In a chip bag?” Uncle Vincent said, confused.
“In the snack budget for your annual Halloween party,” Val explained.
