“Doesn’t Alex, your smolderingly ex from high school who’s back in town for the holidays, do woodworking?” said Martha.
“Yes, but I couldn’t ask him to do that,” Betsy said, blushing. “The only place he could work is the basement. And it’s dark down there.”
“Honey, I have something for you,” Martha said.
“Is it a family heirloom? Like a Christmas necklace or something?” Betsy said.
“No, sweetie,” Martha said. “It’s a work light. Also, some tools.”
