For Your Dog
Gotta be honest, when I read that we were selling 6.75 pounds (!!!) of something called “High Hopes Mity Meaty Turkey & Bacon Bites” on the sales spreadsheet without seeing the packaging, my first thought was, hell yeah, that does sound like some real stoner shit. But in fact, the name refers to the high hopes the company has for homeless pets.
Which is all to say: these are dog treats.
But in some ways, my initial impression was correct. After all, dogs:
a. Lay around a lot.
b. Seem endlessly entertained by brainless activities.
c. Find the most ridiculous garbage all too appetizing.
Sounds a bit stoner-y to me.
Look, here’s the thing: your dog doesn’t care about nutrition. They will eat the stupidest stuff and they will LOVE it. Which would almost seem to make your job as a dog parent easy. After all, why blow a bunch of money on gourmet dog treats and kibble when your pup’s plenty satisfied with bottom-shelf basics?
Because you still want your dog to be healthy, that’s why.
So you should buy them better stuff to eat. But again, this means spending more money on items that they will enjoy not one iota more than something costing a quarter of the price. Seriously, have you been to a bougie pet store? You go in looking for a catnip toy and a bag of puppy-training treats and somehow leave with your bank account $60 lighter.
Hence why dog owners should buy the treats we sell on Meh from time to time; they’re usually high-end treats at low-end prices. And these are no exception. 12 bags (which is, once again, a whopping 6.75 pounds) on Amazon would run you almost 100 dollars. But here, you can get them for just 20 bucks.
So go ahead, treat your furry friend to something good, whether they appreciate it or not.
