I bought one yesterday! I’m curious if we can buy another one today or if it counts as the same “wild IRK”? @troy, care to clarify? Please.
@gwrankin - You know, you can ALWAYS make that decision to pay full price during a Meh-rathon and not get a bunch of stuff you don’t really need or want. That’s what I do, I mean it’s nice when something pops up that I can use but I gave up going in with the mindset of purchasing with a “potential refund”. It’s made the Marathons much more enjoyable for me! Jus sayen…

Reading the today’s write-up.
Discussing things that aren’t great, but “good enough”.
Makes me want to LMAO. Isn’t that the philosophy behind the manufacture of almost every Chinese-made product that comes down the Meh pipeline?
As far as today’s deal, I got the little-brother version of these back on the April 1 Mehrathon. They were the 2-pack of the 30 watters for 29 bucks. I’ve been quite happy with that purchase. Only have used one, but it has worked flawlessly. Friends who have seen it were likewise impressed.
That said, I don’t really have a need for this that is more pressing than my need to retain the $50 I’d have to spend for one. But, if that $50 were extra to me, I’d seriously consider upping my game to buying one of these. ITMT, the previous banks exceed “good enough” for my uses.
@phendrick An additional comment: One feature I really like about the 30 watters is the fold-out plug into a wall outlet, in addition to the USB-C input port. I don’t see any sign or discussion of that plug-in capability on these bigger ones.
I like that I can plug it in directly for a faster charge than using the USB-C which might in turn be plugged in up the chain anyway.
I like that the plug folds into the interior of the device making it sleeker to stow into whatever, without the tines of the plug being able to catch on anything, including soft liner fabric or random wires or cords. I’d classify this charger as a smooth operator.

Yes, gratuitous yt video, but what would you expect from someone who thinks this charger has a sexy feel in the palm of my hand?
I have an old HP Spectre x360 ultra book from 2016 that the battery is shot in. It will stay alive for maybe an hour on battery and then Linux tells me it’s critical and immediately shuts off. I wonder how long I could run off this. It normally charges from one USB C port.
@tweezak This is a 100Wh battery pack, meaning that (in theory) it can supply 100 watts to a device for one hour. Determine the average draw of your laptop in watts while in use, and divide into 100 to get a rough estimate on the number of hours you could run off the Aukey. For example, if your laptop draws 50 watts you could run it for about two hours (realistically a bit less).
I have one of these; it’s heavy. Also, it has a happy face on the screen when it’s fully charged. I paid too much for it but I think the happy face makes up for the weight and how much I overpaid.
@ahmadr I don’t imagine it’s strictly passthrough, but it is more than happy to be connected to both an input source and output device at the same time, and will both charge and provide charge. Unplugging from the input while the output was connected didn’t seem to cause a GoPro (without a battery) to turn off, or my MacBook Pro to make the plug-in sound again.
Tracy and Stacey? I’m hoping no sisters with these names actually exist. If so it serves the parents right to call one and get the other. “No Tracy, I said Stacey!” Couldn’t you hear the C-E-Y, not the C-Y!”

@american_badger Is that even legal without a Mehrathon?
@heartny Think it’s the new IIRK….Inflationary Instant Regret Kit
@american_badger @heartny Is anyone buying one at full price with no chance to reduce the total? I’m definitely considering it.
Then I won’t have to look at everything in the mehrathon and settle on a few things I don’t really need all that much.

I’m curious why you like a fold out plug so much? I never really found a need that feature.

@tweezak It’s cool to me that a circa-2016 laptop can run off USB C. Most of my olden crap needs an old fashioned power brick to stay alive.
I have one of these; it’s heavy. Also, it has a happy face on the screen when it’s fully charged. I paid too much for it but I think the happy face makes up for the weight and how much I overpaid.
Photo shows a USB-C to -C cable. It’s not listed in the specs though. So… is it?
got this the last time it was here, for the same price. One of the best purchases I have made.
After all the other output specs, what does “Total Output 15W” mean? This new math!!
Third photo has power input from a laptop, output to a plug…
@Locdonan That’s so you can power your house from your laptop. Nice feature!
@Locdonan @mehcuda67 Good. I was planning to run my Tesla with it.
Does this support UPS / passthrough operation? (i.e. simultaneous charging and output, and the input can be disconnected without the output blinking)
@ahmadr I don’t imagine it’s strictly passthrough, but it is more than happy to be connected to both an input source and output device at the same time, and will both charge and provide charge.
