@phendrick there’s a nice hotel close to a customer site I visit. I used to rideshare from the hotel to the customer $10-$12 a few minutes ride. But the timing on the apps was horrible. Always promised a could of minutes to pickup but could be much longer (airport nearby didn’t help). So you’re standing around outside waiting. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel. Google will tell you to the minute when the bus will be there - two routes, about every 15 minutes. You can pretty much walk out and onto the bus. Way more convenient and it doesn’t hurt that it’s $2 round trip.
@ergomeh@phendrick
I tried to get $2 bills at my CU but no luck. Need to get there again and see if I can get them to order a pack for me (they said no last time I asked).
@ETFrisco At its core, a bus is a shared physical pathway, typically composed of wires, traces on a circuit board, or busbars, that allows multiple devices to communicate.
@PooltoyWolf my life seems complicated and pointless now so longing for some Animal Crossing Therapy. Don’t worry the activity keeps me busy no need to call the help hotline….
I took a long break from Animal Crossing before and all the characters were like where have you been? we missed you.
@olperfesser Many, many years ago I had a 1 hour commute (driving) or a 1.5 hr commute on the bus. The bus dramatically improved my mental health and reading (then paper) computer magazines on the bus kept me up to date. Driving is such wasted time
The last time I rode a bus was 10+ years ago. I had dropped my car off to get the windows tinted and caught a bus to get to work. There were quite a few high school age teens on the bus and I noticed that when they got off, each one politely thanked the bus driver. I thought: “WTF planet am I on?!?”
Watch the world slide past the window. Just like if my phone was charged.
People watch.
@haydesigner …and wonder if that guy across from you has a knife
@haydesigner @pmarin Or a lobster.
@haydesigner @pmarin @yakkoTDI Or a banana.
@haydesigner @pmarin @werehatrack @yakkoTDI I’m usually more concerned about raspberries. I don’t have any 16-ton weights.
@pmarin
And is it bigger than yours…
Stare off quietly into space…
Ride the bus? That’s still a thing?

But then you have to carry cash, right?
@chienfou @phendrick You always have to carry $2 bills when traveling - what else are you going to use for tips?

Check if Keanu and Sandra are on the bus and if it’s going less than 50. If yes, then get off at the next stop or jump.

What’s this thing you call a “bus”?
@ETFrisco At its core, a bus is a shared physical pathway, typically composed of wires, traces on a circuit board, or busbars, that allows multiple devices to communicate.
@ETFrisco @yakkoTDI I’d be more interested in the blunder style of busses.

Take in the world outside the window
Question my life choices that lead me to sitting on the bus with a dead phone
Get most of the way through my daily tasks in Animal Crossing on Switch.

Discover all the buildings and nature that I miss while driving (either my car or my social media).
/showme socially awkward extrovert on a busy public bus
@mediocrebot I like how there’s no way to get to the back of the bus…
Trick question.
I work from home.
@kittykat9180 Then you just buy a roundtrip ticket.
I don’t do 30 minute bus rides. I have a car.

Rawdog it.

Read my Kindle.
@PhysAssist
Read my nook.
bezos doesn’t need to know my reading habits
Wonder how my bus ride home from work was only 30 minutes.
(does this portend some job opportunity I’m going to be getting soon?)
