I was so mad we didn’t get Carrier Bridge Tech, aka “Galaga Guy” back for Age of Ultron. His apathetic shrug in response to Tony Stark calling him out. His willingness to risk the wrath of Sam Jackson. His quick response when the Helicarrier was hit. His dedication to video games, even when on the Helicarrier. The man is a hero like no other.
Thor. And Thor was my favorite 40 yrs ago so it’s not because of Hemsworth. Although that just makes him significantly better. But not with the haircut.
@lseeber I don’t understand the stigma around long hair. I figured we’d move past that by now… But no. Every makeover show chops off people’s hair. I was watching the reboot of Queer Eye and there was an Indian guy that had the most beautiful hair. The guy giving him the makeover had long hair so I thought surely he would keep his hair, nope, short hair just like everybody else.
@RiotDemon Yeah… I dunno. When they do that, the ‘after’ isn’t always better. I was a hippie freak of the early 70s and I’m partial to long hair on a lotta guys.
@lseeber Some folks online (twitter and elsewhere) have been bitching about female heroes having long flowing hair instead of more combat-friendly dos. Some brought up long haired male heroes as comparison, Thor included. I wonder if Thor’s locks were shorn in response…
@moondrake@RiotDemon ha… cool! I was right. 70s (90s?) and now, sans the man bun.
Hubby had great long ponytail! Sometimes longer than mine.
It’s amazing how a hairstyle can change the entire appearance.
I’m so far behind on the movies that I’d have to go watch them all in publish order (mostly for the first time) in order to watch Infinity War. So I’d have to first go find a website to tell me which movies to watch in what order, and then sacrifice a couple already-overburdened weekends.
It’s like superhero comic books all over again: this impregnable wall, Spartan shields of cross references.
That one run of Hawkeye that I read was pretty good — you know the one I mean. Was all purple and low key. Came out sometime in the last decade. 20ish of them.
(on topic) I couldn’t tell you which movie was Avengers 2 if I wanted to.
I made the mistake of clicking on the Wikipedia article on the Avengers. That’s a wormhole of worthless data I shouldn’t have allowed myself to be sucked into. There were many entries that said “Killed off in issue ___ but brought back to life in issue___” Just like soap operas.
Iron man for me- I have a rather large tattoo of him on my leg.
@Pony prove it
@Moose
Villains are more interesting.
@Nuclearfuzzbomb - Yeah! Where are the Doctor Doom comics? I have the entire Wally Wood run - somewhere…
S…Sailor Mercury?
Nick Fury, though Meh probably does not like that MCU cast Samuel Jackson instead of Bruce Willis for the role.
@hchavers -

@simplersimon -
It’s a toss up between Thor for hotness and Captain America for being what I want in a hero. Guess Cap wins it.
@moondrake Cap isso very hot too. I find him the sexiest avenger
@CaptAmehrican @moondrake
Cap is even better now with the beard.
No option for none.
To all the Avengers, I say Meh
@elilupe The Guardians, however…
Thor. And Thor was my favorite 40 yrs ago so it’s not because of Hemsworth. Although that just makes him significantly better. But not with the haircut.
@lseeber “But not with the haircut.” OMG, yes. The film industry’s mandatory same haircut for 95% of male actors is extremely annoying.
@lseeber @moondrake it made me sad. He still looks good with short hair… But it still sucks.
@moondrake @RiotDemon Really. It was like when I found out that Santa wasn’t real!

@lseeber @RiotDemon
They chop hair sometimes just to have something to do.
@RiotDemon Yeah… I dunno. When they do that, the ‘after’ isn’t always better. I was a hippie freak of the early 70s and I’m partial to long hair on a lotta guys.
@f00l @RiotDemon Kinda like editors…a work may not need editing but they’re gonna do it anyway cuz that’s what they do.
@lseeber Some folks online (twitter and elsewhere) have been bitching about female heroes having long flowing hair instead of more combat-friendly dos. Some brought up long haired male heroes as comparison, Thor included. I wonder if Thor’s locks were shorn in response…
@duodec I looked it up. Chris complained that the wig took two hours to put on and get right, so they nixed it.
@lseeber @RiotDemon Check this male hair through the last century video.
@duodec @RiotDemon Ugh. How does a wig take 2 hrs to put on??
@moondrake @RiotDemon ha… cool! I was right. 70s (90s?) and now, sans the man bun.

Emma Peel is the only Avenger for me.
@Pamela - Mrs Peel, you’re still wanted:
@Pamela John Steed for me.
QUICKSILVER!
ALWAYS, the poor thing. . .
This is an area where I am innocent of any knowledge.
I voted for something without having a clue what I was voting for.
(Isn’t that the Tao of voting?)
Today I got a Marvel fan to give me a list of important films in order. So I can become less culturally deprived.
I would comment on this, but it wasn’t an option in the poll. Get it together, @mediocrebot!
