While I certainly miss your writing @JasonToon, I can’t say I’m going to miss the playlists very much. But either way, I know they’re a lot of work to assemble so thanks for all the effort.
I’m looking forward to checking these out (except for the fucking Monkees, of course). Your playlists have always been interesting in one way or another, your breadth of knowledge is kinda dazzling!
Speaking of fart jokes, I’m reminded of this old adage:
“When God closes a door, He opens a window, sticks His ass in, and traps you in the most epic dutch oven you’ve ever experienced.” --via @Zaius13 on Twitter.
I’m feeling a bit sad and nostalgic. I always found your playlists a little weird, and yet there was nearly always at least one I knew, and liked (or, in the case of the Zombies, loved). You’re reminded me of tunes I’d completely forgotten, and introduced me to a lot of others I’d never have come in contact with.
I’ll miss the playlists. It was proof that all I have to do is sleep for a bit, and Sunday will be on the other side. Be well, Jason Toon. :-}
@JasonToon I, too, will miss the playlists, but I guess they’re not really gone… Was stoked to see Mahmoud Ahmed on this list! I listen to that song at least once a week! Made me smile. Looking forward to the next list.
This is certainly meh Meh news. I’m glad you’ll continue doing the playlists and that they’re not completely disappearing. Thanks for the Sundays, @JasonToon.
Ok, often I resent the playlists because I don’t have time and all. But sometimes I listen to something amazing. Or I laugh. Or I am reminded of something wonderful.
While I didn’t often listen to all of the songs, I always listened to at least a few. Some brought back good memories, some were wtf moments but I always enjoyed what you had to say about them.
Jason, we’ve loved your writing, your humor, your deep and eclectic taste in music, and your descriptions of your selections – it’s been a great pleasure to read and to hear. Thank you.

Definitely the Zombies here. Just over two minutes of pop rock gold.

My favorite: Tis a sad ass that never sings.
@UncleVinny well there’s a blast from the somewhat not terribly ancient past. forgot about that guy.

Well this sucks. The departure, that is, not the playlist. Playlist is rad as always.
And in all honesty, I never thought if Magnetic Fields was on one of these lists I’d be forced to choose otherwise, but Tacocat did it.
@brhfl Yes to Magnetic Fields. I saw them live last Spring. Such a good, bizarre show.

Tough to choose! I voted for the Little Lady Preacher, but also loved the Zombies, Outta Nowhere and the Crimson Wave.
Great list, Jason! (Except for the ruddy Monkees.)

I’ve only been coming out of the bomb shelter once a week for fresh batteries and the playlist. One less reason. Thank you, Jason.
Hey @JasonToon
Ok, often I resent the playlists because I don’t have time and all. But sometimes I listen to something amazing. Or I laugh. Or I am reminded of something wonderful.
So please keep doing them for us. And thanks.
Also:
You’ve now been there a few months.
Can we please have a regular
“Life Down Under journal w pix”
from you?

Well, nuts. I’m gonna miss these on a regular basis. My playlists and music knowledge have grown greatly because of them, so thank you Jason.

@JasonToon
Thanks for choosing a Monkees option so I could respond to the hate above. Hoping to still see your writing on Meh’s walls in the future
Thanks for the playlists.
It’s nice to listen, to listen.
I like fart jokes too.
