@chienfou@danoinct we had a fuko years ago that came with some random shirt that they bought at a thrift store purposely (if I recall correctly) to put in our fuko’s. I got very lucky and received a kid’s size 10 which both fit the kid and she liked it.
@kjady They do make those bone conducting toothbrushes and ones with speakers that play music in your mouth when you brush. You’re supposed to brush until the music stops. Firefly Toothbrush
@Thumperchick@werehatrack My cats don’t pee on their beds. And they’d love a heated cat bed. In fact I have one. And they all pile on so the ones that miss the heating pad under the cushion get the live cat heating “pad” they are partly on top of.
The poll answer was: Cat beds with built-in power banks.
The heck with the poll answer. We always get off topic on meh. Right?
Actually we could use the power bank to power the heating pad for the cat in the cat bed thus we could put it somewhere they’d love that is no where near a plug in the wall
Future Meh product for sale: A bug zapper with a recharging solar cell that has a Bluetooth speaker and works as a power pack for recharging your phone while camping. (But no built-in camp light because that would attract too many bugs.) Maybe the bugs want to jam to the music too?![SolarBugZapperSpeakerPowerPack][1]

@werehatrack not what I was thinking, that sounds like a digital camera.
Web integrated with an ability to “try on” outfits fron a store web site w/o changing out of your clothes. Mirror could assess measurments to determine your size requirement and allow you to order.
Alternatively a catalogue of your wardrobe. Can keep track of what you wore when, can suggest outfit combinations based upon event, weather, etc.
@tinamarie1974 I’ve seen a limited version of the “digital try on” thing. It might be able to work better now, but I’m not sure it’s worth the water and power.
@werehatrack Im not disagreeing with the worth of such a contraption vs use of natural resources. That said, I could see something of the sort failying and being sold here

This all sounds really plausible to me - I think I’ve heard of apps that do this sort of thing, maybe, but the image only shows up on your device. Having it in a full length mirror actually sounds really useful!
Of course it would be insanely expensive. And that’s where Meh comes in - they get remaindered & Meh sells them for a tenth of the original price - and I would probably buy one!
@Kyeh in my mind it is an execellent idea, except for the data big brother would gain and having a hot camera on your mirror - would have to remember to turn it around or cover it or something when not in use.
@tinamarie1974@werehatrack I actually saw something like this at CES probably about 6 years ago at the LG booth. It was an AI mirror that connected to your closet. I asked them if there was an expected release date to which the rep laughed and replied “this is conceptual only” with no release date. I actually think we’re getting closer to it becoming a reality at the consumer level but might be a while before you see something like this on meh
I’ve been taking a silly amount of pictures of bees as they’re all over my yard. So I’m going to go with tiny little rain coats for the bees. Then they can fly around in the rain and pollinate the things even when it’s raining like crazy. Not sure who’s going to help put them on but I know you can supply them!
IRKs
(Do I win?)
@chienfou I wonder if they’ll come with eye masks, MicroUSB cables, and some random shirt?
@chienfou @danoinct we had a fuko years ago that came with some random shirt that they bought at a thrift store purposely (if I recall correctly) to put in our fuko’s. I got very lucky and received a kid’s size 10 which both fit the kid and she liked it.
Refurbished digital cameras that have a built-in cell phone and text messaging system, and can also be used for a bunch of other things.
Oh, wait…
Rechargeable Bluetooth knife
I can imagine some dentist creating an AI toothbrush with a waterproof speaker that will scream at you if you don’t brush for the whole two minutes.
@kjady They do make those bone conducting toothbrushes and ones with speakers that play music in your mouth when you brush. You’re supposed to brush until the music stops. Firefly Toothbrush
@braveit1 @kjady Holy crap! Is it horrible that when I saw the video I thought this would be a great for my grandchildren?
@candiedisilvio1 @kjady you can always do the Baby Shark version! LOL BabyShark
@kjady - this has “Intelligent AI Frequency Reduction” so you know, we’re way ahead of you on this one
how about a speaker that also could charge your iPhone at the same time? Or some knives?
@oppodude What an original idea!
I’d like to answer catshirts. Alas …
/showme a sad cat walking in front of a closed store with falling down sign labeled “mediocritee”.
@narfcake Here’s the image you requested for “a sad cat walking in front of a closed store with falling down sign labeled mediocritee.”
@mediocrebot @narfcake Shirts for cats? or shirts with cats on them? Both are good!!!
@mediocrebot @narfcake I’d buy that shirt
The cat bed one makes some kind of weird sense, because someone will probably make self-warming cat beds to take traveling…
@Thumperchick And the cat will still pee on it.
@Thumperchick @werehatrack I dont have cats, so no experience, but I thought they could be litter trained?
@Thumperchick @werehatrack My cats don’t pee on their beds. And they’d love a heated cat bed. In fact I have one. And they all pile on so the ones that miss the heating pad under the cushion get the live cat heating “pad” they are partly on top of.
@Kidsandliz @Thumperchick Traveling with cats = things will get peed on.
@Kidsandliz @Thumperchick @werehatrack but can you take a heated bed while traveling? Unless maybe it has a cigarette lighter attachment?
@Kidsandliz @tinamarie1974 @werehatrack The poll answer was: Cat beds with built-in power banks.

@Kidsandliz @Thumperchick @werehatrack well here is the other question. If they pee on it, will it zap them?

@Kidsandliz @Thumperchick @tinamarie1974 I guess that would depend on its IP rating?
@Kidsandliz @Thumperchick @tinamarie1974 @werehatrack more like cat-pee rating.

Bonus points if there is an app that counts the number of bugs zapped and a IoT community where you can share your high scores!

A water bottle/camp lantern, unfortunately works best when full of water
World Cup related stuff.
Edit: To clarify, the world cup is not itself stupid, but selling World Cup 2026 in 2027 would count, right?
@KNmeh7
FIFY
@KNmeh7 Honestly, I expect to see tons of it in closeouts around here in August and September.
AI mirror
@tinamarie1974 I can see it. High-res digital screen, tiny camera with forced perspective, integrated software that erases age lines and such.
Ummm, no.
@werehatrack not what I was thinking, that sounds like a digital camera.

@tinamarie1974 An AI mirror gives me Dorian Gray vibes.
@tinamarie1974 … Or maybe I should have written Dorian GrAIy
/showme The Picture of Dorian Gray, but picture is actually AI screen and Dorian Gray is spelled Dorian GrAIy.

/showme Anthropomorphized goat wearing obsolete AI glasses. The obsolete AI glasses are giving very bad advice on how to cross busy street.
@cfg83 Here’s the image you requested for “Anthropomorphized goat wearing obsolete AI glasses. The obsolete AI glasses are giving very bad a…”
@cfg83 Those instructions actually sound a little like what I’ve heard about crossing streets in places like Mumbai or Hanoi …
