Some form of inexpensive nanny cam for the tech illiterate would be nice. My pet sitter is either a ninja that comes and goes without a trace or isn’t doing the job.
@RiotDemon The last few times my trips were short so it’s hard to tell. I think she’s feeding them but I suspect she’s not staying overnight as she’s supposed to. Also on the recent overnight trip i hired her for, the water pail was dangerously low. But I’m getting ready to go on a longer trip and if she’s not caring for them properly it could be serious. She may just be very neat, though.
@moondrake have you checked the trash cans upon returning? I can’t imagine staying somewhere overnight and not generating at least a couple pieces of garbage.
@jbartus No trash at all. None of the food I bought for her gone this last time. Linens and towels still folded where I left them. She might be sleeping on the very comfy sofa and eating and showering at home. She’s supposed to be at my place from 7 or 8 pm till 7 or 8 am.

I’m pretty sure the LG on the left is the one I bought last year on Amazon for $260. It only cools one room, but it does a good job, especially if you put it where it blows toward you. I use an oscillating fan beside it to better share the cool with the dogs.
@moondrake during the hurricane I borrowed a window a.c. It did the job, but a portable would definitely be easier. If the coupon works, one of them would be about the same price as the cheapest window unit that I can find.
@RiotDemon I don’t think the coupon will work, I just tried it on a dog bed and it didn’t work. But those are still good prices for a portable. They are usually a good deal more expensive than the window ac units.

I was really stoked on the potential VMP only sale hour. But it appears that due to the issues surrounding it, I will not likely be able to participate today.
