Mostly science fiction and fantasy, though I dabble elsewhere.
One vacation, the accommodations had a copy of the first Bourne Identity novel - a nearly completely different story than the movies - and it was a great read. I had to look up what an “international calling center” was, though; apparently not every phone could route international calls. After reading the novels, I wanted to see a movie about those characters more than the ones that appeared in the official movie.

What is this vacation of which you speak?
Erotica
Cozy mysteries, nothing too scary on vacation. I only read those at home.
@iluvmingos I came here to say this. I tend to go for paranormal ones.
@iluvmingos Seconding mysteries. Was shocked it wasn’t a poll answer.
Comics
Guidebooks, often. Also a few times I’ve taken books set in the place I’m visiting - that can be fun.
I do not read on the vacation itself, but I do sometimes read in the plane, train, car, etc. Usually a Clive Cussler novel.
@PooltoyWolf Excellent choice. I have read a lot of his books.
@yakkoTDI Same here!
@PooltoyWolf Planes, Trains, and Automobiles?
@blaineg I need more planes and trains!
Mostly science fiction and fantasy, though I dabble elsewhere.

Thriller
Mysteries.
@andyw Like how I wound up with vacation time?
You guys get vacation?!?
Tide charts
This forum.
Though less than I do at home.
Paranormal urban fiction, high fantasy, science fiction, occasionally porn disguised as one of the above.
Science fiction, of course.
There are a lot of authors living where we go. So I get whatever one of them wrote that year.
What is “vacation”? Do y’all actually get to have this “vacation” thing given to you? How does one get a “vacation”?
I read mostly science fiction and fantasy with a little
adult fiction in there.
Ideally, the inside of my eyelids.
