I bet they will auto enroll all customers in another feature that degrades network performance in order to “save” me data transfer on my unlimited data account.
@medz Nah, I’m totally cool about it these days, since I got them to credit me the $120 difference I payed for unlimited data during the service degradation. Which I then donated to the EFF
@medz
The offers loaded for me when they went live at 5am eastern.
They may have given them all out now…or just try messing with the app, killing and reloading it. One friend did that a few times, and rgen they showed up in his app.
You also grab your share of stock in the app.
You also play a game, that enters you into various contests.
@f00l ah. It was working but about as good as a fuku day on meh where it wouldn’t say sold out for hours…
I got a pizza from the wife’s phone for dinner (5:00 pm est) then my phone a few hours later. They just sent a text saying its cleared up now! Awesome. 2 pizzas 2 movie rentals 1 stock(one time only per account) and 1 frosty (plus a confused cashier and manager at Wendy’s!) I love t-mobile!
Got it to work on my wife’s T-Mobile purchased phone. Finally worked on the Nexus 5 too. The vudu credits stacked on the same vudu account! We bought a new digital movie.
@f00l it worked great for us… but then again, maybe not having a tmobile store is a good thing here… Wendy’s didn’t know what to do with the thing when I used it last week… My answer, was I don’t know either but you only have 1 minute 30 seconds till it leaves the screen.
@sohmageek expecting every offer to be catered to your specific situation isn’t exactly fair. I mean think about it, you’re basically saying “I got this free thing but since it wasn’t the specific thing I wanted I am unhappy.”
T-Mobile (and every other carrier) is trying to market to the younger demographic, that 18-35 range, who are largely doing the whole city living, night life thing. The whole point of the Uncarrier movement has been to try to pull market share in the key demographic ranges over to T-Mobile from the likes of Verizon and AT&T.
@communist yeah but we’re on a family plan with one main account. Never sent a referral to anybody. Got one on the 16th and 1 on the 17th. Maybe because i tried from both phones with the main number when redeeming?
@carl669
Yeah, bagged a ticket. I’m gonna avoid your theater tho, don’t you go to that theater where the entire audience yells “Fuck” thru the whole movie? Even for “Bambi” or “Toy Story” and “The Longest Day” and “The Force Awakens” and esp “Titanic”?
Ok, you’re forgiven for “Titanic”, as long as everyone there already saw it once.
@MrsPavlov
Yeah Titanic is pure emotional manipulation, but i didnt realize it till 2nd watching, just being up for a good time, not putting my “Marienbad” brain on and all.
Still like the underwater stuff tho, and the breakup and down-the-hatch stuff.
I hope the extras were well paid. All that time in the water. Ugh.
Myyyy Heeeeaaaaarrrtttt Wiiiiillll Go Onnnn and Onnnnn and Onnnnn…
@MrsPavlov I was having a decent enough time with it until the present-day (1996) Rose takes out the Heart of the Ocean necklace — in her possession thru all the years — and drops it into the sea over the wreck site.
OH PULEEZE! A survivor, a truly adventurous & independent woman that Rose becomes would NEVER have pulled such a ridiculously sentimental & wasteful act such as that.
Ruined the whole film. Aggravates me to this very day.
@compunaut
Agreed re “Heart of the Sea” necklace ocean drop.
Stupidest Supposedly Sentimental Tribute Gesture In Cinematic History.
I suppose it never occurred to fictional “old” Rose who’d supposedly lived that incredible life, that her memories plus the necklace might have enormous historical and emotional value to anyone but her.
I would have personally liked “old” Rose to have tripped while on deck, and have the necklace go flying out of her hand into the ocean, to get eaten by a fish, who was eaten by a bigger fish, this one voiced by Ellen DeGeneris, and the necklace gets “found” when Nemo gets found.
But that’s just me.
…
I forgive Titanic’s excess for one reason…videotapes of it were smuggled in quantity into pre 9/11 Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. And many city people who were supposed to have destroyed their western, evil TV’s and VCR’s had instead hidden then in the walls or wherever. And so one year became a sort of secret “Titanic” year in certain neighborhoods, where people would black out their windows and have repeated “Titanic” watching parties for their families and friends, who often came in homemade “Titanic” outfits hidden under their normal street clothes.
And so “Titanic” bcame a hidden cultural commonality and tiny freedom gesture among those who remembered a different world, in a way similar to how verses of some English Romantic poets served as passphrases and emotional markers among certain resistance groups in occupied France.
So I used my VUDU credit for this week to pay for ~half of a bundle containing The Green Mile (which I’ve seen a few times) and The Shawshank Redemption (which I’d never seen before this evening) and I can honestly say I can’t think of many movies I’ve ever paid for that even come close to the latter. What a remarkable piece of film. If you’ve never seen it, it’s a definite recommendation from me at any price.
Obviously music related. (Crank it to 11) I see no stream.
Free Pizza, Frosty, and Vudu Movie Rental tomorrow! AWESOME!
t-mobile page never refreshed for me. Had to find it here:
1 share of T-Mobile for each primary acct holder
1 share per each friend you get to join (up to 100 shares per year)
Download T-Mobile Tuesdays app and check each Tuesday for free stuff/deals.
-free in-flight messaging for apps on go-go enabled flights
-full hour of go-go wifi free on each flight
IF anyone gets the link to the iTunes download it’d be great… the chat was saying it’s live for Android but not iTunes yet…
@sohmageek Yup. Got it for Android. Sorry, bruh.
I bet they will auto enroll all customers in another feature that degrades network performance in order to “save” me data transfer on my unlimited data account.
@MrGlass
/giphy sour grapes
@medz Nah, I’m totally cool about it these days, since I got them to credit me the $120 difference I payed for unlimited data during the service degradation. Which I then donated to the EFF
on their site they have this link… but it isn’t available in the US store… Weird… https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tmobile-tuesdays/id1111876388?icid=WMM_TM_UNCRRR11_YHLJSFN4BPF5099
I can’t get the app to work today. Says there are offers, but they never load. (Nexus 5)
@medz

@medz
Just confirmed with TM that app servers are down, keep crashing “due to high demand”, which they clearly had no way to anticipate. Poor TM.
“They are working on it”. Ha ha ha.
But it’s a really nice perk, they do intend to make good. So keep trying.
@f00l link/source? yes their twitter is saying they are having issues and working on it but it doesn’t say it’s down…
@sohmageek
Ran a google news search, found a number of articles. 2nd source TM CS.
@f00l ah. It was working but about as good as a fuku day on meh where it wouldn’t say sold out for hours…

@medz yeah! I did that. Also was able to do 2 separate pizza orders under the same account! They loved me at dominoes!
@medz how did you get them to stack? I keep getting rejected saying I have the maximum.
@jbartus
I coyldnt stack the vudu codes. And only 1 share of stock.
Re Dominos, the app and web page let you order as “guest” if you wish.
@f00l @medz did somehow, and @sohmageek
@jbartus I just logged in on 2 different phones into the same vudu account. My wife and I. We use the same vudu on our family TiVo.
@sohmageek same here
@sohmageek @medz Tried that. Was it early in the day? Might’ve locked it down
CEO ugly. With his money, I’d buy some fucking hair.
And then this happened.
While I am not affected since I don’t have T-Mobile or eat at Domino’s, this still cause a slight sad expression to appear on my face.
@FroodyFrog but them again less cardboard pizza for people to eat. win win
Incredible idea for a promotion.
Launched and managed so badly it’s a sick joke.
T-Mobile, really. This sux.
@f00l
I see Dominos is out…hopefully to be replaced or at least keep the free vudu money coming.
Fun while it lasted.
@f00l it worked great for us… but then again, maybe not having a tmobile store is a good thing here… Wendy’s didn’t know what to do with the thing when I used it last week… My answer, was I don’t know either but you only have 1 minute 30 seconds till it leaves the screen.
@sohmageek Maybe if it was a large frosty it’d be worth doing. Small?! Pffft… We didn’t even bother. No Lyft stuff around here either.
@medz yeah no lyft and I didn’t get to go see Warcraft… it was over an hour away out of state (closer to 2 hours…) I did however get the stock!
@medz
Dominos is out because of the way Tmobile handled it mafe it impossible for Dominos. Then Legere brags about it!
Then Legere says he will replace with Lyft, which is great for some people. I could use it perhaps 2x a year at most.
This customer payback is an incredible idea, and the VUDU is nice, but so far, execution a bit of a disaster.
@f00l Lyft sucks for us in Vt.
@f00l @sohmageek give em a bit to iron out the wrinkles, it wasn’t exactly something they could effectively anticipate the response to in advance.
@jbartus I wasn’t happy with the first time they had Lyft
@sohmageek expecting every offer to be catered to your specific situation isn’t exactly fair. I mean think about it, you’re basically saying “I got this free thing but since it wasn’t the specific thing I wanted I am unhappy.”

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We somehow got 2 shares of stock… probably gonna sell for that $80!
@medz every account owner gets 1 share of stock, you can get more if you refer friends and they join t-mobile
@communist yeah but we’re on a family plan with one main account. Never sent a referral to anybody. Got one on the 16th and 1 on the 17th. Maybe because i tried from both phones with the main number when redeeming?
fyi… current t-mobile tuesday offer includes a free ticket for Suicide Squad.
@carl669

Fuck “Titanic”!
@f00l i’ve never seen titanic.
@carl669 you’re not missing much, I was so bored and the movie so long I had sex in the theater half way through to stay awake.
I remember the sex; I don’t remember the movie.
@MrsPavlov
I thought it was fun, 1st viewing. Esp all the techie ship sinking stuff. Now kinda an artifact, but not so much fun to watch the 2nd time.
@f00l the acting just wasn’t that good. It is a middling piece of bloated, over-indulgent film making.
@MrsPavlov
Yeah Titanic is pure emotional manipulation, but i didnt realize it till 2nd watching, just being up for a good time, not putting my “Marienbad” brain on and all.

Fuck.
@G1
Oh shit.
