The Button
4Pretty unique idea...
"Reddit,
When this post is 10 minutes old, a button and timer will become active at /r/thebutton. The timer will count down from 60 seconds. If the button is pressed the timer will reset to 60 seconds and continue counting down. Only users logged into accounts created before 2015-04-01 can press the button.
You may only press the button once.
We can’t tell you what to do from here on out. The choice is yours."

Couldn't stop myself, I'm a 60s clicker.
@dave Me, too! I wanted to wait, but it was compulsive.
@PurplePawprints seems like that's pretty common, I was watching it and it only got down to 55 s once. Over 300,000 people have clicked it so far, it won't be going on for very long if everyone clicks with only a few seconds elapsed.
Reddit really did it up right today.
You can push it more than once.
@Pavlov Never saw that - awesome! I'd so do that.
/r/?
Im from /b
@xEBRONx well, that was random
@TerriblyHuang
The sub-forum for those who abstain from pressing the button:
and the pro tappers:
@thismyusername It's funny because /r/notap is like /r/nofap.
I have to say, I'm a shaker - not a tapper.
Just comment "4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42" and you'll be ok.
...or your Mr. Cluck's Chicken shack will explode.

I love this, it's such a great example of a simple psychological experiment that shows what hopeless jerkholes humans are, especially in large groups, even more especially while anonymous.
If there was some way to 100% prove that pushing the button would wipe out half the world's population it would be pressed with 59.5 seconds left at the latest, reset, pressed again and that'd be that.
