Our 4 kids are far flung and prefer to use their time off for Christmas over Thanksgiving. So it is just my wife’s elderly parents and her sister (a fairly awful cook), hosted by us. Usually pretty low-key, and the abundant leftovers compensate for the flurry of dinner prep.

Our newest tradition, since we started hosting, has been existential dread and general anxiety leading up to Thursday. So that’s fun.
