TALES OF THE DARK GOAT O' PENN'S WOODS, NIGHT TWENTY THREE
8MIDNIGHT!
(Hmmm… It appears that “Weird Tales” is now out-of-copyright… This will be good for the thread!)
This isn’t my favorite story by Manly Wade Wellman, but it’s apparently out of copyright… I love Wellman’s “Silver John” stories, and a lot of his other scare stories are pretty decent. I like his occult detective series too, but his line of Appalachian occult stories are his best, imho.

The Isle of the Dead
… just 'cause it’s mentioned in the story. Not bad though, eh?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@mediocrebot - Ah, ok, so - “Smashing, my dear poppet.”
Blargh.
@aetris @mediocrebot Good bit of detective work. I guess I don’t watch Nickelodeon enough.
A horror story and a love story! And it’s ahead of its time. He was the first to fall in love with Dolby.
@aetris there’s also this spooky orchestral piece by Rachmaninov that’s inspired by Böcklin’s painting:
@UncleVinny - Hmmm… Interesting, it didn’t occur to me to include spooky soundtracks…
