Abraham Grace Merritt was apparently best known as A. Merritt, though I always heard of him as Abraham Merritt, so there THAT is. I prefer his longer stuff, which gives him the space to go big, but his big stuff’s not really horror and anyway I’m thinking short stories, especially for a Sunday night. …aka Hannes Bok, is our guest ghost artist tonight. Bok vied with Virgil Finlay as premier illustrators for Weird Tales magazine and was Merritt’s favorite illustrator (he was also a friend of Ray Bradbury apparently).
