Wandered into Michaels for a picture frame yesterday and left with a black and white Halloween bat throw. I’m delighted that Halloween is getting the Christmas treatment, with sales starting 3+ months in advance. Spooky season is all year in my house.
The only thing I don’t like about is that when Halloween does come around and I start to set up and find I might need something everything is pick over. I want summer to be summer and not rush into fall bc winter is to fucking long in Michigan. I don’t need any store telling me to get ready for fall on July 1st.
@Kyeh@mossygreen So cute! I can’t figure out how to get the pattern. One of my woobles is a Christmas tree pincushion, and it came with pins with big colorful heads that look like ornaments.
@mossygreen@sammydog01 So weird - I tried too; she has an Instagram account that links to an etsy sales page but this isn’t on it. But her main website won’t show you your cart so maybe it’s disabled or something. Frustrating!
The Christmas tree sounds neat!
@Kyeh@sammydog01 I have some glow-in-the-dark yarn somewhere, and I also have some changes-color-in-the-sun yarn. Somewhere. And a stupid amount of safety eyes. And a stupid amount of cartoon-y safety eyes. And a stupid amount of yarn that is neither glow-in-the-dark nor changes-color-in-the-sun. We should start a club.
@Kyeh@sammydog01 Yeah, I randomly found it at a Goodwill (same Goodwill, two different times and brands). I don’t think they make it anymore, but it’s white and turns either pink, purple or yellow in the sun.
@Kyeh@mossygreen The little monsters lady has a safari crochet along too with 13 tiny animals. I’m going to follow her on facebook. So many projects and she uses the absolute cheapest yarn available. Like me.
@Kyeh@sammydog01 Hypercolor! They’re selling dye kits at Michaels (not hypercolor brand, but same idea). I’m curious, but not curious enough to buy. Yet, anyway.
Seems like something a lot of Mehtizens could get into!

@ExtraMedium Same! Our decor is all skulls and bats etc.

@Star2236 This trend is about having parties in the summer, though - like Christmas in July, but Halloween! Carving watermelons. Skeletons in bikinis.
@Kyeh @Star2236 skeletons in bikinis sends a real positive body image. (Though I bet you her hips are in one piece.)
Wobbles Summerween release:
I had it in my cart, filled out my address, put in my credit card info, and decided there were better things to spend $135 on. But I really like it.
Plus I haven’t finished my advent calendar yet.
@sammydog01 Oh, that’s awfully cute!
I saw a site that has free instructions for little Halloween crocheted figures:

@Kyeh Those are great, I bookmarked the site. I just ordered some glow in the dark yarn, it will be interesting. Thanks!
@sammydog01 Cool! Please share the results!
@sammydog01 I knew I’d taken a screenshot of this some time ago but couldn’t find it - until now!

I think @mossygreen might like it too.

I didn’t know that existed, that’s wild!

@mossygreen @sammydog01 I had a tee shirt once that changed from dull purple to pink with heat - same technology, I guess?

@sammydog01 @mossygreen–are you going to do a reveal of that other site’s mystery box that you got?
@Kyeh @sammydog01 I should. And you’re right --it should be here, in Summerween!
@mossygreen @sammydog01 YES!
I think this is a great idea!!! Let’s stretch spooky season!!!
