(Slightly) Failing the work-life balance game
3I'm working uncomfortably close to a deadline at this very moment. On the one hand, I must begin the 10 hour journey with the family to our vacation destination. On the other hand, I must release a new (software) build today.
Right now, it's looking like I'm packing the laptop and "enjoying" the comforts of our accommodations while everyone else enjoys the vacay.
I could bitch about being understaffed or multiple demands on different projects. It'd be true, but it wouldn't be the cause. I did this one to myself, I'm afraid. Go me!
Also, not packed yet.

At least you can qualify it as "slightly", I am GREATLY failing at the work/life balance and see no end in sight for the next year :( (Darn software releases!!)

I'm just coming out of the busiest time of the year at my job. Everything else has been on a back-burner for weeks. What I didn't realize, though, was that everyone would try to cash in their "get back to me after the 4th" at once. So now I'm just as inundated with not working as I was with work
