Yeah pretty sure we’re done with our 32767 miles of the American Lighting stuff. There’s probably some good advice on alternates. Everyone’s rope light certified now!

While probably less effective and manageable than just having a second email address for potential spam, judicious use of rules still makes this rather powerful. Use a specially-dotted version of your email address for spammables, then set up a rule to automatically send it to junk (or whatever). Check your junk regularly (haha, yes). It’s flexible, obviously.
@brhfl yea, that’s interesting about gmail, i’ve wondered if the same holds true for yahoo or hotmail accounts, but was never curious enough to google it or try it out.
i do use several gmail accounts for various purposes, but mostly just because they are funny (at least in my mind). i fwd them all to my main account, so Meh.be the SPAM filter function is largely defeated.
how do you filter if it was forwarded from a certain account, do you know that trick?

@snapster Thanks. what is alternates?
@snapster Why did the programmers only use 15 bits? One more and we might’ve been able to keep track of 65535 miles!
KuoH
@kuoh That way we can also keep track of -32768 miles, should that come up.

/youtube are you confused yet?
@Yoda_Daenerys how much did you buy?
@communist umm, 2 or 3 separate orders with >1 qty, plus got one in one of my fuku/o’s
@thumperchick if you think it’s a good idea, maybe a space above is in order too?
/giphy gracias mi amiga
@Yoda_Daenerys si.
@njd looks like i also set up yoda.daenerys @gmail.com, i’m not certain of forwarding status though
if all else fails, tag me here
(TC edit - I threw a space in your email to at least slow down the spambots you called by posting your email address.)
@Yoda_Daenerys the spambot summoning is complete!
/giphy pooh hail satan
@hanzov69 I think now I can say I’ve seen it all, thanks!
@hanzov69 i think pooh is just doing his morning exercises.
@thumperchick - thanks for the space

@Yoda_Daenerys All this talk of spam, and the dot in your gmail address reminded me… and this is useful for everyone…
Dots don’t matter in the username of gmail addresses. test@gmail.com, t.est@gmail.com, t.e.s.t@gmail.com will all go to the same user.
