Mythbusters Drone Decapitation
0It was an interesting episode with a predictable outcome: Carbon fiber rotors are dangerous.
What DID surprise me though was the apparent lack of threat from poly plastic rotors.

Yeah I saw this and have to say the initial idea of holding it and pushing it into the chicken was going to give an invalid result, as what the drone would actually do when flying into an object is different. Holding the spinning prop doesn't allow for the way a drones controller responds to a prop not rotating at the speed it expects. And as many of us know from experience, it will fall from the sky most times if it hits a tree branch. It'll even drop a few inches for hitting leaves while it compensates for what just happened.
@DJMajickMan I saw some pics of people being cut by CF blades. it's not pretty. I'll post some if I can track 'em down.
@garyhgaryh I posted a video here a few weeks ago of a guy who tried to grab his Phantom in flight and got seriously cut by the CF rotors. Owie.
@garyhgaryh Yeah I've already seen them, it's not pretty I know.
