@Trillian I was going to say something about how my favorite songs about LSD are by either Spacemen 3 or Stars of the Lid, and then I remembered that LSD means something different in Chicago.
@ypwulby I know they likely used the wrong ratio on purpose given the editing pranks in the video… for any who are being bothered by the aspect ratio click here for a corrected one.

Jimmie Rodgers (The Father of Country Music).
An amazing singer/writer in the 20’s-30’s who died at the age of 35. He kept writing and singing, even with a case of TB, so his family could keep going. His songs have been covered by many bands since. I have a few of his 78rpm records.
In the Jailhouse Now (1928)
The best thing about Duran Duran videos is that they could be mistaken for Banana Republic ads from before it changed to yuppie office wear, if Banana Republic had made short promotional films. New Moon on Monday
Someone equally middle-aged please back me up on this.
@compunaut I saw Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band when they opened for Clutch many years ago. They were so much fun, and Reverend Peyton is a friggin’ animal on guitar.
@cranky1950 Remember when Catwoman stole their voices? And Jay Sebring hadn’t been murdered by the Manson family? I wasn’t born yet, but am convinced it was a golden age.
@mfladd I think my computer is gagging on some of these threads and I hit the save button twice because the screen doesn’t refresh or something like that. Seems to mostly happen with my ancient chromebook.
@compunaut do you wonder what was going through the minds of the Led Zepplin members? Were they thinking " amateurs" or… “Wow” …or “missed that bridge/note” etc…
@mikibell I think they were psyched that Jason Bonham was playing drums, and I think that the Wilson sisters nailed it, and I think when the lights hit that massive choir was like “Whoa!”
@cranky1950
Springsteen and the Seegers perform “This Land Is Your Land” (Woodie Guthrie) at the Lincoln Memorial for Obama’s Inaugural celebration Jan 18, 2009.
My favorite song of all time.
One time when I was on painkillers and muscle relaxers for severe backpain, I woke up in a middle of a deep sleep, went into the living room where my wife was, and sang / rapped the entire song to her. She told me I ate an entire big bag of Swedish Fish during that time, then she put a cold wet washcloth on my forehead and led me back to bed.
Good times.
I just loved all the music videos above. I have found a grea way to listen music for free right fro your Android and iOS devices using setbeat app developed by http://setbeatapp.com
Rae Sremmurd “Black Beatles” ft. Gucci Mane
Here’s a plug for my daughter’s best friend, Sadie. She’s pretty talented, hope you guys agree.
@ACraigL Niceeeeeeeee! She is talented!
@ACraigL
Yes, she’s impressive. She needs a little time on stage - or a little polish. But she could front a band right now.
@f00l To I’ll pass that along. To be fair, that was recorded about a year ago, and she’s come along in this regard since. Thanks for checking it out!

Uhhh… Hmmm… Not one of my favorites.
Sing it, Kirk!
OK, sorry. It’s really bad.
@daveinwarsh It’s OK, you are forgiven (by me anyway). But his finest work is his cover of Common People, right?
@daveinwarsh ever heard this?
it’s pretty great really
@mossygreen Unbelievably, Shatner does a version of Rocket Man
@compunaut I’m going to respectfully disagree with you. It is possibly the most believable thing of all time.
@daveinwarsh
@mossygreen
@thiyusername
@compunaut
I had heard LSD and Tambourine Man.
Common People is so hideous it’s classic. I wish it had been in one of the ST movies.
And the collaboration with Bens Fold Five is perfect for Shatner’s soul or something.
