membership at the end of the month?
2I just want to confirm, since I’m thinking about buying a pair or two of those headphones, and shipping on one item is the same as membership for a month, so that seems like a no-brainer in case I happen to see anything else I want during the month: am I reading it correctly that if you paid for membership, the first month you’d only have until the end of the same month, that if you joined on the 30th, you shouldn’t even bother? That doesn’t seem right…

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I can tell you that I go through several months of not ordering anything and them getting my $5 for nothing, but then there are days like yesterday and today that make me glad I have a membership.
I should say it makes the membership worthwhile for me.
@neminem
I don’t have the answer. What I do have is a membership charge recurring on the 5th of the month. I would expect, but not guarantee, that if you joined today your membership would be until May 16th. Or even the 17th.
Eh, never mind anyway, for some reason it added an extra 50 cents in tax if I added the subscription. Given I’ve followed meh since it started and I don’t think I’ve bought anything until now, probably not that likely I’d buy something else in the next month, anyway. (Now if it included free shipping on wine, maybe… not like I need any more wine, either.)
Still sort of academically curious, though.
@neminem “Given I’ve followed meh since it started.”
Meh: neminem joined us 642 days ago on July 15th, 2018.
Say what?
(And nobody talks about free shipping on wine… shhh.)
@KNmeh7 Alright, apparently that’s a lie. I didn’t actually remember exactly when I discovered the split-off from woot, nor did I know exactly how long it’d been around for. I take back what I said, though it’s still true that I’ve been following it for a while.
The membership is a rolling 30 days. So if you sign up today, you pay again in 30 days.
@RiotDemon Isn’t it the calendar date? Mine is always the first of the month. (Because of Bone Thugs, of course.) If it were every 30 days, it would eventually have regressed.
Which makes me wonder, if this is still going on 4-ish years from now, should someone sign up on the leap day?
Edit: Yea, nix that. That would be stupid. You would pay every 29th. If there were a 32 day month that would be the gravy.
@KNmeh7 yeah, you’re probably right.
This should be a poll question bc I’m interested in the answer.
-How many people cancel their membership after One month bc they don’t want to pay for it?
-Also is there any reward for not canceling your membership? Like the longer you have it the bigger the incentive (there should be, would make it more fun).
@star2236 Yeah the best deal remains to cancel over and over. You can say you don’t pay for months you don’t use, but you pay even less if your month always starts the day you ordered something (provided you use it again in the next 28-31 days).
Make sense? Buy two things within one 30 day period, pay once. Buy one thing on the 15th day of this $5 period and one on day 5 of the next, you paid $10.
