A few months ago, I was at a small club called Lola's Saloon in Ft Worth TX, watching my good friend Playdough perform (iamplaydough.com). Opening for him that night, was a local dude named Leon Bridges. Apparently, Leon is a big Playdough fan. At the time, I don't even think he had a song on the internet--maybe a cellphone recorded YouTube video here and there at the most.

I was pretty impressed with Leon at the time and was thinking in my head, "how is this guy not a mainstream star?".

Fast forward to today. Literally, a few months later. He got signed to Columbia, and is performing on the Late Late Show tonight, with Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell as the other guests.

I knew I should have bought that dude a beer.

Wow, fast forward to today... Leon Bridges is the musical guest on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night.

From opening for my good friend at a local Ft Worth dive bar, to SNL, in less than a year's span. Good job Mr Bridges. Good job.
