Price is $19.99 at Amazon. I'm in the market for a knife but I'll pass. I know Meh will sell a better one for cheaper in a week. (Based on my experience with stuff).
@tartanknickers Probably some law about how the tax must be calculated. It prevents a company from selling a product for a penny and $999.99 for the shipping to avoid having to charge tax.
Not a fan of liner lock knives. I've had a couple fold over on me. Plus, I find them a bit more difficult to close when I do want them to fold. I prefer a bolt or axis lock like Spyderco or Benchmade. Unfortunately about five to ten times the price.
I clicked meh because I don't need a knife. Does anyone know if this site sells speakerdocks? I have an ipod that i want to charge while playing music.
@carl669 the sneaker socks are working for me. I took a selfie of myself in a pair of sneaker socks. Not everyone should wear sneaker socks. Same with yoga pants and tube tops. Pass it on.
@wew It was no brand 3 1/16 blade stainless folding knife for 4.99. Great blade, sharp, held a good edge, sharper easily. Use it for skinning and processing wild game.
Que serate, serate , serate. Whatever will be will be, will be. #0 on billboard with a bullet. Ok it's not a pointed commentary on our current culture. But it's edgy. Its a significant upgrade from the last cutlery item advertised as "the Sharpe of dog knives" or was it "my heart blades for you". I admit, I forget. None of this crap sticks.
Kershaws are nice. Quality is between 'useless crap' and 'overpriced knife snobbery'. They make knives you can use and not worry about polishing them with unicorn foreskins.
In for 2...to go with the 200+ other knives I've got in my collection. These are actually nice knives, right size for EDC, keep an edge fairly well, easy to maintain, AND make great stocking stuffers/gifts.
Is this legal in all 50 states, D.C., U.S. territories and the sovereign waters surrounding planetary land masses? I'm not concerned about whether it's legal in the U.K., however.
I just wanna say that I've purchased three knives here and two of them open with that little thumb doohickey and I love it. My wife doesn't so much. Sometimes several times in a day I'll say, "Hey, wanna see something cool?" and I pop open the knife, just 'cause it's fun.
I went to a notorious hipster bar called the Cha Cha in Seattle a few years back on Halloween. My costume had one of those fake switchblades that turn into a comb. Somebody thought mine was real and pulled their's out. I had to tell him mine was fake. (and we were cool.) . SO Hipster knifes make sense, but they would have to be 1960s style. I think this knife is ok, but I am waiting for someone to create a smart knife.
@jmendenhall There is nothing notoriously hipster about the Cha Cha Lounge. If you want seattle hipster, you head to Ballard, not the Hill.
Still liking your post, because smart knives.
ETA: I looked to see where you were getting that crazy info, and apparently a number of reviews say just such a thing. I would argue with this, except I haven't actually set foot in the Cha Cha in over a decade. Ballard and Columbia City are still more chock full of beards and suspenders. Especially Columbia City, as it's been more recently "hipsterified"
@cation I used to hang out at the old cha, double trouble, and kincora block in the early 2000s. The knife incident happened at the new one in 2009. The old Cha was pretty hipster during the week, but the weekends/holidays were the worst because that's when Bellevue came over to play. I agree about Columbia City and Ballard. Although Ballard is where hipsters go to retire.
@jmendenhall I was more of a Linda's/Moe's girl when I was on the Hill. But mostly old school Belltown. I worked at the Sit and Spin, the Croc, and Mama's. Oh, and two dagos from texas. And I played all over Belltown too. Good times were had by all. That was before things went south for almost all of Belltown. Now Mama's, the Lava, Shorty's all will be gone.
At least I know that if I go down to the Frontier Room, I can still get a stiff drink poured by an angry lesbian.
I feel like I'm watching an updated version of The Fabulous Baker Boys, with the ghosts of Seattle's more recent past! If you know any of the Seattle scenes from that movie, how old does that make YOU?
Just FYI - The thumbstud on the knife I received does not match the picture here or anywhere else I've found it. The thumbstud in the picture is machined with small indentions. The one on the knife I received is smooth all the way around. It is a nice knife, nonetheless.
@nhedler I have not taken it apart, but it does appear to have plastic washers. Keep me updated on what you find out - I think the washers were supposed to be bronze phosphor?
@DaveInSoCal Seems unlikely given the packaging and the overall quality of the knife otherwise, but something seems off. Like these are "seconds" or something.
@hollandnm I confirmed that these are genuine Kershaw manufacture, but they are a different run at the request of 'some distributors'. I actually read the bladeforums thread before purchasing...
@DaveInSoCal They are the same thickness (as felt with fingers) though the non-Meh one tapers a little more toward the tip so it's actually thinner there. But I think it's safe to say it's the exact same knife, just cheaper materials and assembly.
Some other details I noticed include simpler pivot screw and simpler grind on the Meh/Walmart version, and lack of steel type: Also the Meh/mart version is 3 grams lighter.
@awk Sigh. I was hoping to avoid this, but there doesn't seem to be any other option. You're going to have to get two people to use them in a knife fight. Two knives enter, one knife leaves.
@awk you know what? You're okay. I was having a stressful day, and your hug it out comment made me feel better. Both knives will live happy knifeful lives. Thanks!
@StrangerDanger just saw this thread based on today's deal. Often big stores or distributors will ask for custom version of a product that is different enough so that it has a different part number and potentially different features or items included. I think this is to make it harder to comparison shop and to be able to claim an exclusive product.

@Stallion Yes more!
Well, knife to meet you too.
doesn't make the cut
RIP SDF, welcome Knife Friday.
Finally a knife. All is well.
@xarous Did you hear that huge collective exhale at midnight? We've been waiting a long time for this.
Classic write-up too, @jasontoon.

What a knife surprise!
short-callous-crumpet
@DaveInSoCal HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Meh is the new blade runner
Going to take a stab at this one.
2 please
Was here at 12:00 for a fuku not a damn knife meh
Price is $19.99 at Amazon. I'm in the market for a knife but I'll pass. I know Meh will sell a better one for cheaper in a week. (Based on my experience with stuff).
@densa That only happens when you (or I) actually make a purchase.
@densa Not true. A better knife was that CRKT turd knife, which was more expensive. That was a nice knife. Anyway, wishful thinking on your part.
@robson That's a damn nice, ugly knife.
I don't think you can be knife hepsters until you sell a bone or antler handled knife and one of Rambo compass on the butt things.
Hey, a knaf! I have a couple of these and also the 3.5" model, they are one of my favorites, nice and simple and easy to open.
Naturally, I will buy another one and throw it in whatever drawer doesn't have 2-3 knives in it already.
Just ordered another knife I don't really need. Thank you, Meh! ;)
@einrad me too!
@einrad I got two, have a dozen or so already in a drawer I don't use. Couldn't pass on the price though.
Guessing this is the kind you can't mail to NY.
Another great reason to go VMP: meh calculates tax on the goods plus shipping. I think.
@tartanknickers Probably some law about how the tax must be calculated. It prevents a company from selling a product for a penny and $999.99 for the shipping to avoid having to charge tax.
I've been wanting this knife for awhile now. Terrific blade size for a working EDC and from Kershaw, a brand I've grown to love.
mysterious-knitted-tuna
'fess up. Who at Meh has the knife fetish? That's the only way to explain how often you thrust these upon us.
@grmeyer I'M IN FOR FIFTY hhhmmmppppfff
@grmeyer They have a making money fetish.
Do I get a pocket with the knife?
Not a fan of liner lock knives. I've had a couple fold over on me. Plus, I find them a bit more difficult to close when I do want them to fold. I prefer a bolt or axis lock like Spyderco or Benchmade. Unfortunately about five to ten times the price.
@ruouttaurmind Have to pay for cutting edge technology!
19.99 on Amazon
Never a dull moment.
painstaking-ardent-back.
From now on, I'm going to say "painstaking" instead of "stabbing."
I clicked meh because I don't need a knife. Does anyone know if this site sells speakerdocks? I have an ipod that i want to charge while playing music.
@ptrjon ... Don't get'um goin' on speaker docks else you'll never see an ed to 'um.
@ptrjon what's a speaker dock? did you mean sneaker socks?
@carl669 the sneaker socks are working for me. I took a selfie of myself in a pair of sneaker socks. Not everyone should wear sneaker socks. Same with yoga pants and tube tops. Pass it on.
i dont understand why anyone would ever need a knife.
@elpepe maybe to cut shit?
@robson Just clean it really, really well afterward.
@elpepe Steak night must be weird at your place.
@robson this would be the most appropriate knife to cut shit with

After buying a lot of these higher end expensive knives I found my favorite at Harbor Freight for $5.
@samnrick Just in time for a parking lot sale: http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=knife
@samnrick well, which is your favorite?
@wew It was no brand 3 1/16 blade stainless folding knife for 4.99. Great blade, sharp, held a good edge, sharper easily. Use it for skinning and processing wild game.
WatchVidzGetVirusez is the best place for watching movies currently in theaters.
OOO the knives are back! Hey, Homie, are these the kind that open fast, like lightening fast, if you have a quick thumb?
Sharp pix, @kylethephotoguy.
Que serate, serate , serate. Whatever will be will be, will be. #0 on billboard with a bullet. Ok it's not a pointed commentary on our current culture. But it's edgy. The problem is you always take them to gun fights.
@Bkmack Just once, usually.
@sligett it depends on how far away you are from your opponent, if you believe what you see on tv...
Kershaws are nice. Quality is between 'useless crap' and 'overpriced knife snobbery'. They make knives you can use and not worry about polishing them with unicorn foreskins.

I'd be in for sure if I didn't already own it. A rare Kershaw with the stupid Speedsafe assist.
Is this legal in all 50 states, D.C., U.S. territories and the sovereign waters surrounding planetary land masses? I'm not concerned about whether it's legal in the U.K., however.
respectable-sober-person. I needed that.
In for 2, one for me, one for you!
I just wanna say that I've purchased three knives here and two of them open with that little thumb doohickey and I love it. My wife doesn't so much. Sometimes several times in a day I'll say, "Hey, wanna see something cool?" and I pop open the knife, just 'cause it's fun.
Because, yeah, I'm a doofus like that.
@joelmw Hello Kindred Spirit!
@DaveInSoCal I've always considered you a brother.
@DaveInSoCal But
works too.
The clip came off of the G10 I bought when it was two-fer-Tuesday, so I'm in for this one.

Why do I keep buying these knives!!!

@wishlish Good Price!
@wishlish Excellent Price!

@jmendenhall I didn't even know there WAS a new Cha Cha. The original opened when I was living on the Hill.
Shit, I'm old.
I feel like I'm watching an updated version of The Fabulous Baker Boys, with the ghosts of Seattle's more recent past! If you know any of the Seattle scenes from that movie, how old does that make YOU?

@hollandnm I'm checking with KAI to see what the deal is. Does yours have white plastic washers on the pivot between the blade and liners?
@nhedler I have not taken it apart, but it does appear to have plastic washers. Keep me updated on what you find out - I think the washers were supposed to be bronze phosphor?
@nhedler I also find it odd that the type of steel is not indicated on the blade. Every other kershaw I own has the type of steel noted on the blade.
@hollandnm Do you think they're imitation Kershaws?
@DaveInSoCal Seems unlikely given the packaging and the overall quality of the knife otherwise, but something seems off. Like these are "seconds" or something.
@hollandnm Maybe they're "Genuine Imitation Kershaws?" ;)
@nhedler http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1261951-Kershaw-Injection-3-0-Curiosity
@hollandnm I confirmed that these are genuine Kershaw manufacture, but they are a different run at the request of 'some distributors'. I actually read the bladeforums thread before purchasing...
@hollandnm Just got mine and came here to mention the same thing.
My Meh knife is on the left, my existing one on the right:

Also there was lots of dirt on the blade.
Not gonna complain for the price, and it opens and works fine, just wondered about it.
@awk The left blade looks thinner. Anyone measure or is it just an optical illusion?
@DaveInSoCal They are the same thickness (as felt with fingers) though the non-Meh one tapers a little more toward the tip so it's actually thinner there. But I think it's safe to say it's the exact same knife, just cheaper materials and assembly.
Some other details I noticed include simpler pivot screw and simpler grind on the Meh/Walmart version, and lack of steel type:

Also the Meh/mart version is 3 grams lighter.
@awk Sigh. I was hoping to avoid this, but there doesn't seem to be any other option. You're going to have to get two people to use them in a knife fight. Two knives enter, one knife leaves.
@DaveInSoCal Hopefully we can hug it out and keep them both.
@awk you know what? You're okay. I was having a stressful day, and your hug it out comment made me feel better. Both knives will live happy knifeful lives. Thanks!
@DaveInSoCal ah ha glad to hear, hope tomorrow is a better day!
So I guess it's the second run wal-mart versions. Still a decent knife at the price but with it had the nice thumbstud and better washers.
