Thanks to @FreePasta, who survived April’s goatdom.
Welcome, @milstarr, to the herd of Meh scapegoats. May your reign be goaty, or something.
Thank you for the warm welcome and cute goat photo. I’m ready to accept all blame in this thread.
UNBLAME: About ten days ago, I figured out that the Rosuvastatin I’d been prescribed in late March was the cause of the shortness of breath, deep depression, tiredness, dizziness, confusion, and faulty short-term memory that had been plaguing me since I started that med. It had literally turned me into a nonfunctional wreck physically and emotionally. Once I snapped to the cause, I ditched that crap and found RELIEF!!! immediately.
I had objected to being prescribed a statin for a couple of years at that point, solely on the basis of my own observation that it messed with short-term memory in most of the people I knew who were taking it, but nobody had the suite of ill effects I was experiencing.
I will note that at least one public-interest group has petitioned for Rosuvastatin’s FDA approval to be withdrawn. I don’t know if that’s warranted, but I cannot refute any of their assertions based on my own personal experience.
@werehatrack Yay a blame for Rosuvastatin and not me!
But seriously, glad you figured out what was the cause of your symptoms. I’d rather have high cholesterol than depression and memory loss. Wait, I have those already. Or do I? I can’t remember.
@milstarr
And that bums you out… right?
@werehatrack
Glad you’re able to pin it down to the meds you were taking. There are other (non-statin) choices if cholesterol is an issue for you.
@chienfou Honestly, the LDL number is not all that high, and if I just adhered to my old habits, I could get it under control completely. We previously tried ezetimibe, and it had side effects that I wasn’t going to put up with, but they were not even close to this level of severity…
@werehatrack
Yeah. That’s the way it is for most folks. Meds (and the associated side effects) vs life style choices.
In my experience I have found that most people will opt for meds.
@chienfou @werehatrack When I was first informed that my cholesterol was high (LDL > 200), I tried modifying my diet and activity to bring that number down (and I was/am pretty disciplined about it; according to an online tool my BMI is 23.) My LDL number moved only single digits. As soon as I started on a statin, my LDL dropped over 100 points (and it remains just a few points above the desired level). So I’m not sure that I have many other options.
@chienfou @macromeh @werehatrack I had been encouraged to do the statins for 30 years. Tried a long time ago and stopped. Then tried once more and stopped. Not sure if I could identify specific side-effects but think I did.
Then last year I saw a new cardiologist and he said I didn’t really need them because my HDL/LDL balance was very good and that makes up for it.
Also wanted to note those doctors from the 1990s told me not to eat salmon or avocado or nuts because those were “high-fat” and I should use off-the-shelf nonfat stuff for the store loaded with sodium and hfcs instead. For some reason I knew better, or at least liked to tell myself that.
[disclaimer: it’s good to have a cardiologist but times have changed.]
@macromeh @pmarin
The key, as you both demonstrated, is being vested in the outcome. Exercise/diet changes maybe the answer, or it might be the assistance needed from meds. Each person is individual, and you should do what works best for you. My tendency would be to try to do it without the meds if I could, then fall back to that (meds) if that attempt failed. Fortunately my cholesterol has always been good.
And yes the pendulum swings back and forth on specific foods all too frequently. That’s one of the reasons I pay little attention to most of that stuff and live by the “moderation is best” rule of thumb.
@werehatrack
From someone who has been dealing with shortness of breath, and trying to “get rid of it” for going on 4 YEARS NOW, I’m so glad YOU figured it out! It’s the worst, totally debilitating, and I wouldn’t wish this on anyone! I’m just thrilled for you!
So a little about your current goat. I have one 25 year old son. I have one husband. I have 2 dogs that split time between my house and my sons house. I no longer work outside of the home. Lately I’ve been selling off my doll collection (not the creepy horror movie type, the Barbie fashion model size and type). I’ve been doing that to get money to go visit my friends. My best friends live far away from me. (Thus the need for luggage. lol) I will be spending July in Brazil with a friend. I still can’t believe I’m going to be a guest in someones home for that long. She says she wants me to stay there. She’s quite excited. I plan to be on my best behavior. However if I get kicked out early, I’ll blame the July scapegoat.
Fun fact: I grew up on family land and we had a herd of goats. I love them! I wish I had two mini goats. I really think they would slip under the HOAs radar.
Fun Fact 2: I’ve always lived in Florida.
FF3: I used to work at EPCOT at Disney World. I worked at the land pavillion on the boat ride through experimental greenhouses. It was the most fun I’ve ever had at a job.
That’s probably more than you care to know so I’ll stop now.
@milstarr Very cool about visiting Brazil! I was there quite a while ago, staying with my husband’s brother & his Brazilian wife. It was pretty amazing.
@Kyeh @milstarr
Wait… Your husband had a Brazilian wife??
Seriously… Never quite made it to Brazil. Closest we ever came was Punta del Este in Uruguay. It’s definitely on my radar though. Someday I’ll make it there.
@milstarr I visited Iguazu Falls and it was beautiful. I would love to go back and explore more of the area.
@milstarr

Glad to hear that you only have one husband, from what I’ve seen polygamy is overrated!
Epcot was my favorite place at Disney, what a great job to have! I’m not surprised that you had so much fun working there, very cool!
This is the type of dolls I collected and am now getting rid of because I gave birth to a son that isn’t interested in playing with my dolls.
@milstarr that is stunning. My niece would lose her mind
@tinamarie1974 Some of the dolls the creative people make are exquisite. This doll is one of a kind (OOAK) made for competition. She won her category.
@milstarr @tinamarie1974
Other than the freakishly long neck she looks like she’s not to be trifled with. That is one powerful face!!
@milstarr there are competitions?
@chienfou @tinamarie1974 we call her face “resting witch (b) face. RBF. lol.
@tinamarie1974 I enjoy going to do related conventions. At convention there is always a competition room with several categories. My favorites are the dioramas people put together. Some people are very talented!
@milstarr TIL
@tinamarie1974 Today I Learned what TIL means!

@milstarr @tinamarie1974 She is amazing. The RBF makes it for me although the dress adds elegance.
Do the dolls come with names and stories or is that up to the individual?
@milstarr But you might have granddaughters that will. Eventually.
@speediedelivery @tinamarie1974 Some dolls do come with names and stories. Some we use our imaginations. That doll won the category of “Dress for the Michigan Governors Ball”.
@Kidsandliz Unfortunately my son has, at the tender age of 25, declared no children will be coming from him. He doesn’t want to bring them into this cold cruel world. Once again I take the blame.
@milstarr
I hope he is at least grateful you didn’t feel the same way!!
@milstarr I didn’t want children at that age too. I also said never. Changed my mind years later and decided to adopt because my mom would have freaked out if I used artificial insemination. Your kid may or may not change his mind later. Or if he gets married a wife may help him change his mind too…
@Kidsandliz Thanks for the hope. It could happen. Depends on if he meets the right lady really. I haven’t given up but I’m not holding my breath either. I was 33 when he came along. He might wait as long or longer than me!
@milstarr @tinamarie1974

I had no idea those kind of competitions existed either. I’d LOVE to see the dioramas! I agree, there are people who are crazy talented with those kind of things. That Barbie you showed in the blue dress is stunning!
@Lynnerizer @tinamarie1974 This category was pool party in Palm Springs.
@Lynnerizer @milstarr @tinamarie1974 I love the details - the food, the pop bottles, etc. but Ken in the pool is a little creepy - they just cut him in half?!

@Kyeh @Lynnerizer @tinamarie1974 It’s Allan, poor guy, we all said the same thing!
@Lynnerizer @milstarr @tinamarie1974 Allan just can’t catch a break!
@Kyeh You are so right! He takes the brunt of all the jokes. Poor Allan. Always trying hard and keeping a smile on his face. Bless the Allan’s of the world!
Welcome to the goat herd!
Glad to see you fully embracing your position. Enjoy your time and do with it as you will. Don’t get stressed trying to keep up or feeling like you have to post something everyday on the side. This is entirely a volunteer position and assess we get what we pay for!
@chienfou
Oops…
@chienfou Volunteer position? No one told me that when I became the goat! I heard the sound of the locomotive bearing down on me as I got railroaded into the position.
@ItalianScallion You were volunteered, just like most of the rest of us. (There have been a few genuine volunteers, some inadvertent and unintentional but clearly and obviously requesting the honor.(This is a polite phrase for “they were asking for it.”) Some got goated because of their username.(At least, I hope it’s “some” and not just me.(But I’m too lazy to check, and the list might not make them obvious anyway.(Or it might, but control will pass back upward through the nested parens to “too lazy to check.”(For the benefit of the non-CS-literate, that’s an obligatory nerd joke.)))))
Because I’m in a weird mood, this is a test of the Replies With Increased Font Size For The Benefit Of People Who Have Problems With Tiny Type.
@werehatrack Ah yes, passive voice. Everything is changed by it.
@ItalianScallion
Seldom for the better. It’s often employed by the victors to hide the atrocities they and their forebears employed to get there.
@werehatrack “Mistakes were made.”
@ItalianScallion @werehatrack
Or it’s used to sound more
pompousauthoratative.@ItalianScallion @Kyeh @werehatrack
I thought my trunk was for hiding atrocities.
@ItalianScallion @Kyeh @werehatrack @yakkoTDI

Blame because I miss the light hearted wacky blames of old vs what we get today. I challenge the forum to start having fun with this thread again.
@tinamarie1974 Wait. What? I blamed, prior to when this thread was here, that it was the goat’s fault that my minivan’s tele-transporter was broken. I put my key in, turned, and… bummer… a 2 day, 1084 miles drive instead. Then I blamed, on day 2 of the drive (I got here last night), that my lasers were broken when I needed them most to zap a car on the interstate. I forgot to blame thatI don’t have any phasers mounted on my nearly 16 year old minivan (this is the low end kind of minivan although I suspect if my tele-transporter wasn’t working then neither would the phasers).
@Kidsandliz I cannot account for the glaring absence of the remote-aiming .50-cal mount on the roof of my xB. (Yay! I have a Scion xB with a stickshift! Wheee!) (I got it at the end of last year.) I knew that the RPG launcher would be missing since the local dealers aren’t allowed to supply them here, but no fifty? Rude!
@werehatrack
Pretty sure that omission was a safety considerationto keep you from flipping the damn thing over when you fired.
Unblame: first sat in a month I didn’t have to get up early. I was able to sleep in on a nice rainy morning
@tinamarie1974 oh sweet! I absolutely love to sleep while it’s raining. It’s so pleasant to be warm and safe inside with a storm raging outside.
Hi Frien @milstarr WOOF! I am goat dog, do you have any doggos? Do they like PB, I love it!!! Will share your pb treats if you have any!!!
I blame twoday. Mom took me for punishment yesterday. So embrazzed. They wash me EVERYWHERR!!! Then put thing on my head and ears and blow air on me! Then they cut my fur off!!!
All the smells I got from outside…GONE. how will I hunt the turtles and bunnies in my yard now???
Woof!!

@CharlieDoggo Did Mom take your picture? Maybe an extra hug and treat are in order
@CharlieDoggo The fact that all the smells are gone gives you a good excuse to roll in things you want to smell like - although then your mom might come here and blame the goat you did that…
@CharlieDoggo I’m so sorry you had to endure the agony of a grooming. You’re lucky you aren’t a cat. They groom everyday. Plus they have to do it to themselves! The horror! Have fun making new smells all over your freshly groomed fur. Sadly all the PB treats in my house go to Rio doggo and Ruby doggo. I have none for you, but I’ll take the blame for having none for you.
@milstarr I share with Rio and Ruby. Mom buys me lots and no doggo should have a pb treat shortage!

Blame. It is drizzling all day.
Unblame I had to work (inside) and then run errands. I was not wishing to be outside relaxing and got some stuff done.
@speediedelivery Sounds like a net-win.
@milstarr @speediedelivery
I am grateful we finally got an inch of rain overnight. Stormy tonight, but I am at work so maybe folks will stay home instead of coming to the ER for the piddly BS thay often present with (always a “good” sign when they call first to ask who the ER Dr is…)
Blame. I can’t seem to trust the Interweb to give me a straight answer to my question about swapping out my aux battery to LiFePo4 in the (older) RV we bought recently. Seems to be conflicting opinions on it… imagine that!
@chienfou Conflicting opinions on the internet? No way! I’ll take the blame. I’m whispering different stuff in everyone’s ears!
@chienfou How many existing batteries and what’s the voltage and output of the inverter?
Lead acid can discharge more than it’s current ratings; LiFePO4 is limited by it’s BMS. Typically it’s 1:1, so if the battery is 100Ah, 100 amps is its maximum discharge rate. Some batteries can be used in parallel and/or in series, some cannot.
How will they being recharged? If it’s currently from the alternator, that won’t work due to the voltages and lack of a proper cutoff once the batteries are full. Any isolators will have to be removed and in place, a DC-to-DC charge controller.
Alas, the current situation will probably be costing you a lot more as the majority of the LiFePO4 production is overseas. There are some that claim to be assembled in the US, but all the cells and components are still imported.
@narfcake
Currently there is no aux battery in the vehicle. I’m toying with the idea of dropping in a LiFePO4 even though from my understanding it would probably only charge to 80(ish) percent. This is primarily in order to be able to check out all the power systems. I would update charge controller etc prior to taking it on a road trip.
The anticipated upcoming trip will not have extended dry camping / boondocking days.
@chienfou From very limited personal experience, I’ll relate that if you already have or you add an automatic isolation relay that disconnects the RV accessory and battery electrical system from the vehicle starting battery and system when the engine is not running, you should be safe swapping to a LiFePO4 unit for the RV circuit. The most significant hazard of having two batteries of any kind in parallel is that the one with the higher charged voltage will self-discharge into the one that has the lower voltage; the isolation relay to separate the two systems disables that effect. Alternately, if you can find a DC12V-to-LiFEPO4-pack charger to use as the unidirectional feed from the vehicle system into the RV side, and use an isolation relay to disable it when the engine is off, you can use the lithium pack’s full capacity. However, since most lithium cells last longer when not charged past 80%, that level of ingenuity might be less fruitful than simply using the biggest lithium pack you can afford.
I’d do it.
@werehatrack
Since the LiFePO4 packs are often rated for over 4000 duty cycles at 100% DOD I’m not going to worry about possibly losing a few cycles. Don’t intend to keep this one 10 yrs…
BTW pretty sure an isolator is generally part of the normal setup since the same thing would be true for an AGM or FLA battery as well.
@chienfou @werehatrack Oh yeah RV power. It’s changed so much even over the last 10 years. Replace battery(ies) with same ol’ kind and you will be OK, but upgrading sounds better.
I was working with a company that makes custom RV vans. Lots of big batteries. Can run 12-48V air conditioner. No more propane. Diesel heat when you need if electric power isn’t enough. Not sure yet, seemed excessive but what I always wanted.
EAV adventure vehicles
@chienfou @werehatrack
Oops timed-out on my update.
@chienfou @pmarin @werehatrack I understand about 2% of this conversation. I blame myself.
Blame! The missing song for the dance recital yesterday!!
Unblame!! The extra chaos at the dance recital due to a missing song!
As this is a recital for a group that focuses on fun and not training professional dancers there is always a certain amount of chaos. The younger and newer girls are the most chaotic.
@yakkoTDI Ahh so many dance recital’s for me back in the day! I stole the song and caused the ensuing fun chaos. You’re welcome. Making memories one theft at a time!
@yakkoTDI Would your group have any use for a large collection of contradance music CDs? These are from well-known small ensembles that travel around doing live performances at contradance nights and events. I have no idea what kind of music is used in the rest of the dance world.
@yakkoTDI What kind of dance?
@Kyeh @yakkoTDI @werehatrack I am intrigued too. Have no idea about the dance world except wiggling into bed at night.
My brother-in-law in Holland was part of that culture over there. He would do art with fluorescent black-light paints during concert events that sometimes went on for 2 or 3 days. Bed seemed a better option.
@werehatrack @yakkoTDI
Not the Safety Dance I assume?
/youtube Safety Dance
@werehatrack Not this group but I do have some friends that contradance that would be interested.
@Kyeh @yakkoTDI @pmarin @milstarr
Ahh, yes, Contradance (not to be confused with Morris dance)
(I’ve always loved Stan Rodger’s stuff and this song in particular. It’s a sentiment I can embrace… The Morris dancer part was just a bonus!)
@pmarin @werehatrack @yakkoTDI Blame: some of the men in that video wore hats.
Blame: My stupid mouth has been giving me trouble for weeks - root canal, cold sores, additional pain in a tooth that had a root canal 3 years ago! Antibiotics, ibuprofen &tylenol, and another upcoming trip to the endodontist. Plus a cold sore inside my mouth on the gumline. I didn’t even know that was possible!
@Kyeh that sounds absolutely horrible. Hope you start feeling better soon.
@Kyeh @tinamarie1974 Eek; I didn’t know endodontist was a thing. But I do remember a potentially senile dentist from my childhood in San Francisco that had the drill machine with belts and gears. Also he said since I was a big boy now I didn’t need the Novocaine (or whatever they used) anymore.
@tinamarie1974 Thanks! 🫶
@tinamarie1974
That’s diabolical! This guy is absolutely state of the art and does a good job, so I’m grateful for that. I just wish my teeth weren’t so troublesome.
@pmarin -
@Kyeh Holy carp! That is so bad I can’t even click the like star!!
I hope everything gets cleared up quickly.
@yakkoTDI Thank you!
@Kyeh I hope they figure out the root cause (no pun intended) for why you are having all these issues all at once.
@Kidsandliz Thanks!
@Kyeh Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to pile it all on at once. I wanted to spread it out over the whole year. Never a dull month. J/k mouth pain is the worst because you have to eat sometimes and it hurts. I hope it’s better soon.
@milstarr Thanks, it’s gone on long enough!
@Kyeh @milstarr
). Mouth pain is particularly troublesome ergo the phrase “it hurts like a bad tooth”!
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble (of any kind
Hope you get better soon. I just went through a crown replacement and a new crown last month but NOTHING compared to your travails. Feel better soon.
@chienfou @milstarr Thank you - the antibiotic has helped a lot but I’m looking forward to having things completely cleared up!
@Kyeh

@Kyeh Oddly enough, my S.O. has been dealing with an intractable mouth sore for about a month now, and his dentist has had zero luck clearing it up. He’s been referred to an ENT, and I suspect that an antibiotic will end up getting prescribed. Your experience reinforces that expectation, and the fact that it often takes this long to get effective treatment is just not on.
I hope yours is fully cleared up soon.
@werehatrack Thanks. The sore itself is viral (I get cold sores and this one just showed up on my gums) but I think it was triggered by the infection in a tooth, so the antibiotic was for that. So he might need to ask about an anti-viral like acyclovir, too. Hope it clears up!
@Kyeh Sorry you’re going through this. I empathize with any kind of pain, mouth pain is extra annoying, especially since it’s so hard to resist touching your tongue to those painful spots.
Hopefully the antibiotics speed up your recovery. Healing prayers, good thoughts and hugs!

Unblame. The airb&b I am staying in has radiators. The heat needed turned on. My cats now own the radiator. They are in seventh heaven.
@Kidsandliz Got to love when the kitties are happy!
@Kidsandliz Have you gotten any pictures?
@Kyeh no haven’t really thought about due to what else is going on
@Kidsandliz @Kyeh
At least a sliver of a silver lining… Glad you were able to bring the fur balls and find an Airbnb that would accept them! Perhaps the rest of the trip will be more pleasant.
@chienfou @Kidsandliz @Kyeh One of the main reasons I went to always traveling in an RV/camper. But it fell into a bit of disrepair and sadly my older cat had passed a few years ago. So tempted each time shelters and rescue sites show pictures of such wonderful fur balls up for adoption. But I took up flying (ugh!) again which kind-of rules out cat-panions.
Blame: finished rewiring the new harness to the new radio head unit I was planning to put in the RV. Made the connection and zip/nada. Now going to have to see if I can figure out what the deal is. Hopefully it’s just a blown fuse. But since it is rainy it’s probably not going to happen today though.
@chienfou Hehe! That one took some doing but my gremlins came through for me!
(I hope you get the problem worked out soon.)
@milstarr
Rain let up so I was able to go out and troubleshoot further. Turned out to be an issue with part of the RV wiring harness in conjunction with a bad test lead on my multmeter. Was able to get it running and to do what amounted to a bench test of the backup camera I will be installing. Having to wait for a longer cable to arrive since it wasn’t really designed for an RV. Should be here Friday.
TL:DR your gremlins ultimately failed!
@chienfou Drats! Foiled again! Next time…(shakes fist)
@chienfou @milstarr I have a driveway full of stuff to debug if you want more projects.
@pmarin
nope… I’m good…
@pmarin I’ll get the gremlins right on it!
@chienfou For the sake of your sanity, I just hope that the SUV doesn’t have one of those unconscionably egregious [multiple expletives in multiple languages redacted] Body Control Modules that insist upon vetting everything in the entire electrical system before they will allow it to work. If the vehicle has one of those, you’re pretty much reduced to having to wire the two power leads direct to hard sources. If the speakers run through the BCM (I have seen a wiring diagram where that was the case) you’re probably well and truly toast for using the factory radio plug via any adapter unless the radio head is specifically designed to work with that exact vehicle. (And wiring diagrams are now largely Forbidden Knowledge for the casual consumer.)
@werehatrack
think I’m good there…
@chienfou @werehatrack I used to have a 1988 Nissan Sunrader I bought really used. I loved that thing. Everything was really basic and easy to deal with. I had to sell it (and the rest of my toys) to pay for cancer crap when I had #2 in one year. I really miss that and my 14’ sailboat. Sounds like you are good to go since you have little in the way of computer crap in your RV.
Unblame! I FINALLY hooked up my newest phone to my vehicle! I wondered why my phone calls weren’t coming thru the car speaker system. Well, DUH ON ME for forgetting I had to pair up my new phone with the SUV!
I’ve only had my new phone for 6 months!
Lol
@Lynnerizer It is always nice when that stuff works. Some of it hooked-up to the car quickly without me having to do much. Weirdest thing was I received a Skype call from my wife in Europe at the time. I didn’t know that connected. For those of you that don’t know, Skype was shut down this week by Microsoft that bought it for $8Billion. Makes you ask “why?”
EDIT might be someone to blame there. Financials probably. Almost always to blame. Probably not you [been there, blamed for that, etc…]
@Lynnerizer @pmarin From what I’ve read, and it makes a lot of sense to me, it was competition and Microsoft’s decision to invest more in their own Teams product than it was financials, in the sense of profitability. Skype wasn’t keeping pace with Zoom, WhatsApp, and others in terms of features. It seems to me that the pandemic established Zoom as the preeminent video calling and conferencing choice. Yes, Skype had and was continuing to lose users to alternatives before the pandemic, but that was the final nail in the coffin.
I liked Skype. It was simple to use, especially for people that weren’t all that computer savvy. I’ve used Google Meet and Microsoft Teams only a couple of times each; I’m just not a fan of these big corporation ecosystems, so those are out for me. The only reason I use WhatsApp is because my European friends use it, otherwise I’d never even have an account because of privacy concerns regarding Meta. So that leaves Zoom. Good enough, I guess.
@Lynnerizer Yay! Glad it worked out. I accept blame for the 6 month delay. I concocted a plan to make you not remember to pair your phone. At least it worked for 6 months!
@milstarr
I am particularly impressed that you scheduled it to occur during the month YOU are goat. That is some awesome (cue bot) prior preparation and planning!
FOOLS! TOOLS! JEWELS! AWESOME!
@pmarin

I can imagine how surprised you must’ve been when THAT call came thru! Lol
My mom mistakenly hits the video icon when texting me in messenger, she’s shocked every time when she hears me saying… “Hi Mom, did you KNOW that you called me? AGAIN?”
BTW, If I was talking about anyone other than “my mom” I’d just say they butt dialed me but there’s just something about that when referring to my mother, it doesn’t sound right! Lol
@Lynnerizer, people like us with older parents that are willing to use tech have it great, don’t we? We get to see our parents instead of just talk to them on the phone. My mom, nearing 90, seems to be one of the few in her senior residence that embraces email, texting, and Skype (up to now). A funny story: my sister set up my mom with an Apple watch instead of one of those help-I’ve-fallen-and-I-can’t-get-up buttons. She wore it 24/7 and about once a week she would dial my brother-in-law when she rolled over just the right way in her sleep. (He was at the top of the call shortcut list.) My BIL was so kind to her about it even when she would ask him why he called her in the middle of the night.
@ItalianScallion
As if she had someplace to go.
) it took me right back to my 5 year old self when us kids would bring her coffee and the newspaper in bed every day before we got ready for school. She was always such a pretty woman, even first thing in the morning! (When I was really young I used to sit on the edge of her bed telling her so. Fast forward 55 years and to me she’s just as beautiful! And STILL dressing to the nines! Every day!

) Later in the day when I spoke with my sister we spent OVER AN HOUR just reminiscing about those early mornings, coffee & newspaper days! It’s funny how we have such different memories…

Lol… that IS funny!
And you are right, we are lucky!! Just yesterday when my mom mistakenly video called me at 7am (extremely embarrassed only because she was still in bed and not showered yet.
Feeling totally blessed right about now! Hadn’t even thought about it being Mother’s Day this weekend.
Right has to go into left
Nah this is fine. Will be fine…

No. No I said NO DONT LOOK

@unksol the maths aren’t mathing on that mix. I hope it all worked out yummy in the end.
@milstarr @unksol
Hope you are hosting company because it seems to be a LOT of whatever…
BTW you may want to check the “best by” date on the Italian seasoning. It looks extremely pale!
@unksol

Here’s to making it work!
That’s got my mouth watering!
What time is dinner, might take me a few minutes to get there!
My mom has been making me a huge pot of vegetable chili like that every other week for going on 5 years now. It’s what’s for lunch/dinner, EVERY DAY!
BTW, I sent my mom a screenshot asking her if that looks familiar? She responded saying “THAT’S A WORKING KITCHEN”!
@chienfou @milstarr was no italian seasoning out but I don’t believe in best by dates anyway. I know it makes spices less potent. But. Add more. And not everything went in some had to come out of the cupboard to get to other stuff.
Also ran out of space for the mushrooms spinach and kale need to reheat and get those in today.
Id call it chilli? Kinda? Tomatoes peppers ground beef chilli spices. Bulk up with some veg. I like leftovers/cook in bulk sometimes
Oh. I see it now the green bottle lol. Says Italian seasoning. That’s just sea salt. I buy the big Morton sea salt boxes with the spout. But that bottle was empty and has the right size holes to shake well and the top pops right off. So it’s my sea salt shaker
@unksol I am envious of the condition of your floor and countertop. You don’t want to know why.
@chienfou @unksol That looks like the size of batch I’d make up, portion out into one-cup freezer containers, and have available as instant heat-n-eat meals for a month or more.
@werehatrack I do (waves arm frantically in air) I want to know why!
@Lynnerizer @unksol @milstarr
Gee… Wonder what made me think of this SNL bit?
@werehatrack the floor is actually bad. The countertop was. Did some light cleaning recently. The cat fuzz is a pain in the ass
@unksol The floor may be unsanitary at the moment, but at least it’s hardwood, which has advantages over the self-adhesive (self-lifting) composite tile I’ve got, which likes to part company with the slab around the edges of the floor.
