I love them too, and banana Laffy Taffy, and banana Peelerz. Have you tried the Banana Pudding Oreos? They’re a limited time thing in a “vote for the best” contest and they’re wonderful! I don’t even like Oreos usually. The other 2 flavors in the contest are “Chicken & Waffles” and “Deep Fried Oreos.” Too weird for me. I really hope the banana one wins & becomes a permanent flavor.
In my long-ago experience, the very worst Halloween candy was Bit 'o Honey, which was so bad that the other kids gave theirs to me willingly when they heard that I hadn’t been allowed to go trick-or-treating again. I have no idea whether it still exists. Other things I recall that were awful include “spice drops”, the Necco wafers that tasted like chalk laced with industrial waste, and candy cigarettes. There were other things that some kids liked while others didn’t, but that list was widely despised.

My nephews had a dentist that lived on their block and always gave toothbrushes. Definitely the worst “treat” I’ve ever heard of. More in the “trick” category, if you ask me.

My PTA Physical Therapy Asst actually gave me a Bit O Honey just the other day. It wasn’t a tooth breaker. It was soft. Hadn’t seen any in awhile… Got some of the bulk sale of Candy Corn years back. Seems like I didn’t eat it all, I sure hope I don’t discover a melted pile of sugar…Only order stuff like like in cool months… Get a big old blob. I still remember the smell of the Brown Paper Bags with Halloween Candy my Mom put in the freezer. Labeled of course. 6 of us… weird memories for sure. I turn off my lights for Halloween… Not into the disrespectful little kids, with Parents right there… Yikes. Everyone stay safe out there, and God? Please turn down the thermostat and bring us some Rain?
Melt candy corn in microwave in 30 second bursts. Stir and check consistency. Stop when corn is melted and smooth. Don’t over heat or it will turn into a hard block.
Stir and combine peanut butter into melted corn.
Press mixture into a parchment lined 8X13 pan. Allow it to cool and cut into serving size bars.
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave, again in short bursts, stirring between each until chocolate is smooth. Be careful, chocolate chips can get overdone quickly in the microwave.
Either dip the bars into the chocolate or drizzle chocolate over the bars.
Voila! You’ve just created a potential landfill delicacy. Or, it might be addictively delicious.

Every couple of years I get a real heavy craving for peanuts but I like the dry roasted ones and I’ll eat a jar or maybe two of them and then I’m done for several years. My choice for quote nutty unquote Butters is cashew. Tree nuts like almonds upset my stomach

I agree with you. I definitely had a hierarchy of items that got eaten first, though it was sometimes a bit fluid. For instance I would go for the Smartees if I was going to be out and about since they wouldn’t melt in my pocket.

I remember when my grandma used to call Chick O Sticks, Chicken Bones. Apparently they changed the name in the 1950s
@f00l my grandma lived in the country with not many houses around. So the trick or treaters she got when we were kids were just me and my cousins. This cartoon makes me think of her since she did this. Only her name was Aurelia, not Margaret. She did live to be 98. maybe that was her secret.

1 cup - Peanut Butter
2 cups - Chocolate Chips
