While I don’t hate candy corn, I do hate all the new flavored ones that taste of wax and the regrets of halloween candies past. Traditional candy corn is just meh.
@kjady I’ve had some that started off waxy and then left a persistent chalky coating in my mouth which took a long time to wash away. Ick! It was worse than eating Burger King’s “onion rings”, and those pretty much defined “awful”.
In my long-ago experience, the very worst Halloween candy was Bit 'o Honey, which was so bad that the other kids gave theirs to me willingly when they heard that I hadn’t been allowed to go trick-or-treating again. I have no idea whether it still exists. Other things I recall that were awful include “spice drops”, the Necco wafers that tasted like chalk laced with industrial waste, and candy cigarettes. There were other things that some kids liked while others didn’t, but that list was widely despised.
@werehatrack Bit-O-Honey still exists, but I only ever see it in farm supply stores. I don’t mind the actual taste but I can’t imagine a worse texture for a candy.

Better than none
By themselves they are kind of bleh, but eating them with peanuts is pretty good!
I can’t stand milk duds, or sticky caramel in general.
Candy corn varies a lot between brands. It can be good, but the bad takes on it are REALLY bad.
Definitely not the worst but jelly beans are always better.
@BioBill As long as they aren’t the awful “spice” versions which had variants masquerading as gumdrops, wafers, and jelly beans.
Circus peanuts. End of story.
@arosiriak I’m in agreement here. But apparently there are fans of them.
Candy corn is the worst.
Because it’s candy corn

Only it’s not the worst.
Because candy corn.
Brach’s candy corn is lovely stuff!

@werehatrack
Didnt Bit ‘o Honey threaten to break teeth?
@f00l Not a threat, it was a promise.
@werehatrack
Yeah that shit was pretty awful

Doesn’t have nuts in it, so not the worst, by far.
At least, during Oct, candy corn usually isn’t melted.
Has meh ever had a zero sales shutout? This one could be a contender.
those musty liquid filled hard strawberry candies that old ladies give out that I’ve never ever seen for sale anywhere
Necco wafers & Smartees. Bleh.
@Kyeh
Shut your mouth
@kittykat9180 I will. If you offer me any, my mouth will definitely stay shut. You can have all of mine.
It’s a two way tie for worst — candy corn and circus peanuts
@kittykat9180 I’ll trade you for those, I like them both.
